Those people came straight off benefit as a result of the local employment partnership. I have talked to Tesco, which is opening new stores around the country, and is doing exactly the same thing. It sees a win-win situation: employers can get people straight off benefit, and British benefit claimants take up British jobs to become British workers. It is win-win for society, and it is win-win for employers as well, as partnerships have proved to be extremely popular in filling job vacancies. There are about 660,000 job vacancies in Britain, and we want people to come off benefit to fill them. Local employment partnerships will help us to achieve that.montydonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8212152.post-82819456653098847652008-01-18T13:12:00.000Z2008-01-18T13:12:00.000Z2008-01-18T13:12:00.000ZAlso John Underwood, director of communications fo...Also John Underwood, director of communications for the Labour Party, is on the board.

However, it's Baroness Cohen's credentials that are so impeccable:

"non-executive director of the London Stock Exchange (since 2001) and a former BBC Governor (1994 – 1999). The businessman, who gave Mr Hain's campaign a £35,000 interest-free loan on top of a £5,000 donation, was embroiled in a row after donating £20,000 to Mr Major's constituency association. The Independent revealed in 1997 that Mr Nagel had tried to interest the Prime Minister in an unmanned aircraft developed by Israel, despite the fact there was an embargo on Israeli equipment at the time. Mr Nagel, 83, whose diamond-trading business has offices in Antwerp, Bangkok, Mumbai, New York and Tel Aviv, had offered sponsorship for two local party events after the Conservatives' 1992 election victory. He wrote to Mr Major suggesting he pass on details of the unmanned aircraft project to the relevant government department.

http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/politics/article3345167.eceroughdiamondnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8212152.post-36262244614830610492008-01-17T18:45:00.000Z2008-01-17T18:45:00.000Z2008-01-17T18:45:00.000ZFOR SALEA unique collection of moral compasses in ...FOR SALE

A unique collection of moral compasses in their original display cabinet.
