Nick Kuenssberg is the fragrant Laura's father.

He is one of the head quango appointees to the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency - SEPA.

SEPA have recently been at the heart of a major development in the Highlands being in jeopardy because SEPA were slow in coming forward with their objections. Without them the planning committee would have been unable to make a decision. Not only would have 200 proposed jobs been lost but so could have 300 existing jobs since the bank was threatening to foreclose.

The SNP Government Ministers responde to local politicians concerns by asking SEPA why there was a delay. At that point they withdrew them and then accusations started flying that the SNP Ministers had prejudiced the process.

Oh and Laura came north one week to do a report on reactions to the SNP Government for the 10 o'clock news. Two of the "ordinary" voters she interviewed were well known to the SNP as Labour activists.

Wee Wendy can't change her looks, or her brother, but she could have chosen to have been more straightforward about the sources of funds, and perhaps their applications.

The defence that she unintentionally broke the law, doesn't really hold together, many of us would like to use the Hain Alexander gambit to challenge the validity of parking fines, speeding tickets or the penalty charge for a dog's deposit on the pavement.
