Did you notice how in Brown's acceptance speech at the Labour Party special conference - he started using the terminology of the Budget Statement. "I can announce today etc, etc" - what a yawn.

Gordo may feel on firm ground giving a well prepared speech - I wonder how he will do when 'events, dear boy, events' snap at his heels?

As for putting a 'soul' into the party - what cheek from a man who for the last 10 years seemed to consider that the financial aspects of anything are all that matter.

She can't have been the result Brown expected and it must have come as an unwelcome surprise, but he recovered well. Making Harperson Chairperson was a masterstroke. Ironic that having fought the campaign largely on the basis of not having testicles she's ended up neutered. She won't get to be DPM or deputise at PMQs. "Labour's new deputy leader Harriet Harman has denied saying the government should apologise over the Iraq war.
She told BBC Radio's Today: "I've never said the government should apologise."

During the closely-fought campaign she said "I agree" when rival Jon Cruddas told a Newsnight hustings event that the Labour Party should "say sorry"

What's next - revised edited tape from al beeb where she says "I DISagree" with Cruddas. Al beeb claim technical fault on original live transmission meant nobody heard the "DIS" part of the statement

Coming next, Lindon Oratory and St Olaves schools are redefined as sink estate schools and that's why her kids went there

Please help save (what is left of) our educational system, that the Gov has done so much to undermine. Science teachers are very concerned about the damage done and the implications. Science will become like modern languages in schools: lost in a generation
