He never had a mandat...Gordon Brown has no mandate. He never had a mandate to become Prime Minister, and now, bottling the chance to obtain that mandate, merely confirms what was always true. He has no mandate.

His reason for calling off the election that he definitely pursued is apparently that he wants the people of Britain more time to experience his vision! More time? We have been experiencing Gordon Brown’s vision for the past 10 years. Whilst Blair was prancing round like a pop star it was Brown who was setting the domestic agenda. He has had 10 years. The voter has had more than sufficient time to decide whether or not they like Gordon Brown’s vision.

The cry now is that the British people have seen how competently Gordon Brown has handled each of the crises of foot and mouth, flooding, and terrorism that occurred in the early days of his premiership. Did he handle them, or was it his advisors who handled them. If it was his advisors, then surely they should get the credit. But no, of course not. He chose his advisors and therefore he should get the acclaim.

This weekend the prevailing view is one of cowardice. Of treating the British people as fools. Fools who will believe anything fed to them, whether it is manipulating the strategic deployment of our troops in Iraq, or merely re-opening a hospital previously opened by some lesser dignitary for a photo shoot opportunity.

The defence we hear against the charge of political cowardliness is that the idea to prepare for an election was promulgated by those very same advisors, only now they are being described as inexperienced ministers in senior positions. No blame should attach to Gordon Brown, who appointed those ministers, for the fact that they were out of control. He is after all, by popular acclaim, the extremely competent prime minister who resolved the three crises of foot and mouth, flooding, and terrorism.

Though that is what they wish us to believe, the more common belief is surely that our Prime Minister has in some way been found wanting. Found wanting in the ability to control the exuberance of his young inexperienced but influential ministers, found wanting in his leadership abilities, found wanting in his character. His personality defects deserve some sympathy for he ‘is what he is’, he was born with that brooding morose personality that has overshadowed Blair’s government for the past decade. Unfortunately for the Labour Party and the British electorate as a whole, we now have two more years of a government run by a man not fit to be Prime Minister of this, or any other country.

I have seen his vision. It is not for me, and I suspect I am not alone.Brownbadgernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8212152.post-76627880111600734242007-10-08T11:29:00.000+01:002007-10-08T11:29:00.000+01:002007-10-08T11:29:00.000+01:00"Prime Minister, why are you wearing brown trouser..."Prime Minister, why are you wearing brown trousers today?"robinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8212152.post-78941868230293993772007-10-08T11:25:00.000+01:002007-10-08T11:25:00.000+01:002007-10-08T11:25:00.000+01:00Prime Minister.Have you had a message of support f...Prime Minister.

Have you had a message of support from the Blairs?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8212152.post-42266732910767521432007-10-08T11:23:00.000+01:002007-10-08T11:23:00.000+01:002007-10-08T11:23:00.000+01:00Seeing as how I pay smirking Robinson’ s salary, ...Seeing as how I pay smirking Robinson’ s salary, expenses and pension I would be grateful if he, instead of panting and flirting, asked the prime minister:

Are you now or have you ever whilst in office, suffered any psychological or emotional disorder which has resulted in you taking hugely important decisions whilst under the influence of prescribed drugs ?

Why does the British government interfere in the jurisdiction of another European criminal justice system and why are foreign office resources spent so lavishly on two people suspected of grave offences and who are known to your own close family ?

Are you now or have you ever been a Freemason ?

When your dead father speaks in your head, does he mention the concept of shame, or is the word not in the Presbyterian vocabulary ?stanislavnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8212152.post-37243249912299499812007-10-08T11:13:00.000+01:002007-10-08T11:13:00.000+01:002007-10-08T11:13:00.000+01:00"Prime Minister, were your jowls bequeathed to you..."Prime Minister, were your jowls bequeathed to you by Richard Nixon?"Dennishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15984396354633891857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8212152.post-71779834149204073252007-10-08T11:11:00.000+01:002007-10-08T11:11:00.000+01:002007-10-08T11:11:00.000+01:00"Prime Minister, what did Deborah Mattinson's poll..."Prime Minister, what did Deborah Mattinson's polling figures show that scared you so much?"Not a sheephttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14123293202225008273noreply@blogger.com
