The whole Robinson source thing was a slip-of-the-tongue quip that came out wrong. Since he isn't a source, beyond usually what I hear on the news, it was hardly breaking a confidence.

The only conversation I have ever had with him about the subject was after I interviewed him. And I can't even remember the detail of that conversation which was basically an elaboration of what he said on air if I recall correctly.

So to re-iterate, the only source revelation was that Guido has been known to follow BBC news.

Not sure what the whole piece was about but it came over as White agreeing that some political journos were propagandists for the government and then obfuscating the issue with rugby shirts and other irrelevant tedium.

You allowed yourself to get diverted by White and dropping your source's name was unfortunate to say the least.

I half-watched the programme at the time and more fully watched it since. In my opinion you would have come acros far better if you'd refusd to appear and they'd empty-chaired you. Yes, it was that laughable a performance.

It's one thing making damned foolish and empty accusations from the relative anonymity of a website, with no-one calling to account your quite obvious paranoid stupidity, but another things altogether failing to justify a single word of what you said when challenged on it. Public figires often struggle too. It's not a matter of being experienced at that form of conversation, but because the person is blagging it when they claim to be blogging.

Clearly, you don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about and are just contriving stuff that equally clueless loons can tag onto because it sounds anti-"establishment".

White got annoyed because he saw through this tosser-with-a-platform in front of him. He could hardly do anything else. people like you give proper journos a bad name.

I didn't know about Guido Fawkes until I saw it mentioned in the BBC Editor's Blog - and they were mocking Guido's performance.

I thought he did okay. As far as I saw, the points he made were valid ones and still stand.

Oh, and by the way, I used to be a daily newspaper reporter (not a political one) and I agree very much with the problems of not wanting to upset sources. Been there myself a few times.

Well done, Guido. You went onto MSM turf and made some excellent points, although you got done over by the inevitable counterattack in the debate (Hmm, if bloggers are of no importance, why is MW so het up when he meets one ?). White is an arrogant and petty prick. Sneering at your wealth, and bizarrely denying he knew Prescott's age. He really came across as a rather unpleasant character and a blatant liar.

As for you Guido, you didn't come off that badly until the Robinson gaff. That was silly. But we all make mistakes and you were pushed into defensive mode - exactly what they wanted.

It was pretty obvious it was a set up. It was an own goal from both camps on this occasion. But you're not paid to go and talk crap on TV - whereas they do it for a living.
