The long answer:

Guido not only gives us a voice, but an entertaining community of like minded people (mostly libertarian in my opinion) ranging from the deranged to the erudite, but Guido being Catholic has time for all, including the trolls.

It would also appear to be the case that this is a popular venue for those who purport to be our lords and masters, so the cherry on the icing on the cake of this virtual gateaux is that they are no longer isolated from the electorate.

The way it was trailed I was quite surprised Guido came on right at the end (to keep the viewers?) with the programme nearly finished.

On reflection, Guido I think you were right to be reticent, gobby, interrupting, answering completely different questions to the ones asked doesn't come across well. You were there to be interviewed or comment, if you said little, that's the interviewers fault. She's also wasted Pravda's fee you hopefully pocketed.

I would have thought she would have been friendlier given that we are such fans of hers.

when we are unable to deport foreign criminals at the end of their sentence an incident will occur, I am sad to say, when one of those released foreign prisoners goes on to commit a murder.
the primary duty of government is to protect the public. the eu constitution will, as in the example I have given, make it impossible to fulfill that duty.
therefore we will experience a constitutional crisis. the governments duty to protect the public is non negotiable, which renders the eu constitution as secondary. Gordon Brown signed a document that he had no right to sign, it is not in his gift or power to default on a primary duty.
on that basis we are entitled to throw the eu constitution in the bin.

It made me laugh when Wark said that the Guido's blogging was "wilful" as if this was a bad thing. Even Steve Richards looked at her as if she'd lost her marbles. She didn't seem able to comprehend that Guido could possibly want to campaign to expose and topple Hain. What is it with these leftists? They credit themselves with being intrepid whistle blowers and truth seekers - so long as the 'bad guys' can be branded 'right wing'. You fall for the diversionary tactics. The Conservatives cant possibly offer a referendum in the future, if the ratification process has gone through here and all the other nations.

You cannot possibly unpick the locks, once the treaty is approved and in force.

Holding a retrospective referendum on the Treaty would be meaningless, and become a referendum on leaving or staying in the EU.

i have gone back over Camerons comments on his position on Europe and he has said that should we sign the treaty under Labour then a Tory goverment would try to renegotiate the treaty.

fact is at all points Dave has refused ANY referendum on Europe.
if he sees the situation as he says as being able to renegotiate the treaty then why not offer a referendum on the treaty before he renegotiates, it would give him the mandate and the power to get what he CLAIMS he wants from Europe?

Newsnight was a complete stitch up, and neither interviewee came out of it looking great. But a few minutes after the programme, over on BBC1, Diane Abbott was very nice about Guido on This Week - said that whole Hain affair was a Guido story for which he should be given the credit.

I admire Guido, he provides a valuable service, he makes a difference, he IS everything that I wish I was. Yes I have been on TV, yes I have spoken to politicians, yes I have protested and picketed and represented.
