I came to the UK 5 years ago and quickly worked out Brown was a fruitcake. Even harder to digest was the fawning press he got from what I now know are acolytes: usual suspects we all know. I then spotted his PHD was on the history of some scottish labour party hack and it all seemed so clear. No economic experience, nurtered in the tribalism of Scottish politics. Completely clueluess. I wouldn't even call him smart. I know plenty of people who read lots of books, sprout lots of statistics and they're almost as useless as this nobody from Kircaldy. I would say where Brown is deffiient is "emotional intellligence". Actually bereft of it in fact.
