I too heard harriet hampster last night on PM. Her command of English was superb. Phrase after phrase spouted forth. But no sentences, and nothing said meant anything intelligible. She obviously couldn't answer the questions dear ole eddy was massaging her with, but had been taught to 'just say something, anything at all as long as it is unquotable and it fills in the time allocated for the interview'.

The gold price has more than doubled since that decision, a decision that lost the country about £3.5 billion at today's exchange rate. How about then using a third of the sale proceeds to buy Euros which then plummeted in value?

Not for nothing is that point in the gold price where Gordon "economic genius" Brown sold half of the UK's gold reserves, called "Brown's Bottom".

What a lot of well reasoned arguments we have here. Clearly Brown means something quite different by "British" than Griffin. And clearly as a non-criminal Brown does not support the exclusive BJ4BP that Griffin does.

The phrase horrified me but we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out. Reclaiming the flag off the BNP and NF is a sensible endeavour. Whether this is the right way to do it is another question.

On the overall exchanges I thought that DC made a grave mistake replacing his "Memory Man" act with his "Stand Up" act and that he looked, and rightly, very uncomfortable indeed when Brown was laying into his voting record and his IHT plans to help 3000 families with £1 Billion and so on.

DC may have landed a few jabs and hooks but I think Gordon has the big Haymaker at his disposal whenever he may choose to use it.

Cable was all awe-ry. One of the funniest bits of DC's "routine" was when he talked about the Lib Dems and Teather getting marmalised come the next election.
