I was present at Matthew Taylor's speech last week and I am much nearer my pension that I am my teenage years. He put forward an intelligent argument with which you may or may not agree. I've been thinking of what to say all day at work over this. This is possibly the most arrogant thing I've ever heard. "A citizenry...not yet capable of self government" is just a shocking thing to say. Just go over it a few times. So who exactly governs us then? Our betters? What happened to "Of the people, by the people, for the people"?
The sheer arrogance of this is staggering. He is an unelected individual telling "the masses" that they need to be governed.....AND NOT QUESTIONED.
