Labour is so desperate to see a high profile candidate in the Glasgow East by-election in the hope of stopping the SNP wiping out their 13,000 majority. Last weekend alone Gordon Brown phoned Glasgow Council leader Steven Purcell four times pleading with him to stand. Purcell apparently has more sense. I would guess that they will build the hulls in Govan and tow them round to BAe at Barrow in Furness for the fit out. That's what they did with HMS Ocean. Both areas have unemployment "issues" that can be solved with these contracts.
