More Nuisance Calling from Gordon Brown

A well informed co-conspirator alerts Guido to more nuisance phone calls to Glasgow from Gordon. Labour is so desperate to see a high profile candidate in the Glasgow East by-election in the hope of stopping the SNP wiping out their 13,000 majority. Last weekend alone Gordon Brown phoned Glasgow Council leader Steven Purcell four times pleading with him to stand. Purcell apparently has more sense. Gordon then phoned former Scottish General Secretary Lesley Quinn asking if she would stand. She too declined...

http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/50384/Meddling-Brown-warned-off has him warned off meddling for St Wendy's replacement, so it is good to see him not interfering in constituency matters here.

has the timetable for CVs, long-leets, shortleets etc. and he's too late.

Of course it is Thatcher's fault for calling the by-election in a rush.

I'm very surprised that Gay Gordon doesn't have the courage to resign his seat and stand in the Glasgow East by-election himself.

I'd have thought that the £4bn carrier deal that's just been announced should deliver the Glasgee by-election.

£2bn of that will be spent in the yards up there....

So that's on top of the £2.7 bunged at Crewe....

kinglear said...

anon - yes I'd noticed that too.But Glasgow East is nowhere near where they will be built, and the SNP will do literally everything to take this seat - don't be surprised if they do.

Unofficial unemployment in glasgow east is 50% said...

Labour are well and truly fucked, if they are struggling to find a candidate for Glasgow.

perhaps he should offer those "inducements" that Vaz didn't get ;-)
what the hell did we do as a people to deserve shits like this running the place?.If people here in cyprus ask me where Im from its almost embarrassing to say the UK cos they laugh at snotty.

Andy Murray should stand for Broon. He is used to being thrashed and has the personality to project policies from the Great Leader.

An interesting nugget in todays Mail.

Vaz has a new plush office overlooking the Thames. Turns out it was Gwyneth Dunwoody's old office.
Though apparantly it has nothing to do with 42 days as he applied for it two days after hse died, two months before the vote.

So she was barely cold on the slab, and that slimy fucker was sniffing around what was left.

The vulture decides being seen as a grave robber is the lesser of two evils.

What the fuck does that say about the man, where being seen as a grave robber is a step up in the world.

Such is the popularity of the chief scunner and his rag-tag, incompetent cabinet/Party that had Keir Hardie been around to fight Glasgow East he would still have followed Tamsin to oblivion.

I have Sheena Easton's home phone number on my Rolodex, Gordon, if you're interested - she's far and away your best hope for a Labour Glasgee.

Though I should warn you I'd want to talk about a bigger office as a swapsy, though.

ref the carriers (anon 11:34); they will be built within sight of the Rangers ground, some way from Celtic. Given the skills shortage, they will probably be built by Polish plumbers.

They are over - and they know it, which is they are stuffing their pig fat mouths in the pantry before the great National Kicking.

I predict for the first time in the history of Wakefield that those useless self serving cretins, Mr & Mrs Balls, will be defeated in the next bash. Sounds outrageous but the people in the area have a tradition of loyalty to home bred Labour folks. These two are Johnnie foreigners and will be shown the door. You just watch.
I’ve used their correct marriage title, which is how it should be, though I would go along Ms Balls for the tart member of the union.

I find it remarkable that the National Socialist Party struggle to find a candidate for such a safe seat.

They cannot be that unpopular.

Can they?

Fuck me(well not literaly)
Why doesnt the cock sucking nonce of the manse just go the whole hog and give a peerage to everybody in the land of shortbread and mutual kilt lifting.
The only reason I can see for going to Scotland is to pull the chain in the 777 as you turn left to New York having taken a nice big dump.
Bring on the SNP.

Gordon phoned me in the early hours yesterday morning.

"I need you to stand in the greatest trial of strength this party has ever faced Bill."

"Really? I'm Surprised. I think you want my cousin Bill McQuango. By the way I haven't heard anymore about my 'reward' for the 42 days yet."

"It will all be sorted soon.Text Geoff, he's dealing with it all. Sorry to have woken you"

Labour seem to think that the carriers will help their case. From the Herald

Labour also highlighted the announcement of the super-carrier contract bringing jobs to Clydeside, claiming the Royal Navy ships would not be built in Scotland if it were independent.

Ian Davidson, MP for Glasgow South-West, argued: "It's simple: no United Kingdom, no Clyde yards. The £3bn contract will protect 3000 jobs in Glasgow and provide apprenticeships for hundreds of young workers from across the city. While Labour stands up for Glasgow and invests in its future, the separatist policies of the SNP would close the yards in Glasgow forever."

Newsflash.

Sean "I'm a scotchman" Connery to stand in Glasgow East, after receiving a suitable reward.

Why not ask Tony Blair? He was born in Jockland and his father Leo was adopted by a Glasgow shipyard worker James Blair and his wife Mary as a baby. He is probably looking for a job now that his EU Presidency has been killed off by the Irish.

13,000 majority and they can't find a candidate?????

Since the 'proof of the pudding is in the eating' then things must be really bad to overcome the snouts in the trough effect that evidently attracts so many MPs to Westminster.

Anonymous said...

Now I was just wondering why we had the sudden desparate need to build those huge floating turkeys known as aircraft carriers at a time when our frontline troops don't even have enough body armour to prevent themselves from being killed. Well now I know. Given a choice between protecting front-line troops and buying votes in Glasgow, Labour will go with the vote buying option every time.

What a bunch of monstrous, mendacious cunts Labour are. Its high time her Maj recalled the fucking army and had Labour taken out and shot.

The favoured candidate locally - Councillor George Ryan - has the potential to embarrass Gordon Brown.
He had a not very secret run-in with a political editor on the night of the Cathcart by-election a few years back. The hack in question might have reported Ryan to the police.

blagger1 said...

Heard that one as well, anon 3:35pm. SNP might be selecting actress-turned-politician Elaine C Smith. She lives locally and has a strong public profile.

If Labour lose this one, Brown has to go. This is, what, 12th safest seat in the entire UK? But I just can't see it - whoever the SNP pick, they're up against the entire establishment (political AND media) up here.

I would guess that they will build the hulls in Govan and tow them round to BAe at Barrow in Furness for the fit out. That's what they did with HMS Ocean. Both areas have unemployment "issues" that can be solved with these contracts. Mind you when they launched the hull of Ocean, they dropped it off the end of the slipway (the tide was too low apparently) and it had to be drydocked to take all the 'wrinkles' out of the hull plating. Oops!!!

I reckon we need the two carriers as we are an island nation but not sure why our squaddies are in Iraq or Afghanistan. Unless it is seen as realistic training. We also need a lot more large patrol craft. You wouldn't believe the amount of contraband (human and otherwise) that arrives on Britain's beaches, and nobody gets to know about it.

That's what happens when an ex. passenger ship steward is put in charge of running HM Coastguard.

So, no candidate to stand in against Davis, can't FIND a candidate for Glasgow.

Secondly - beast of Clerkenwell. Why not Scotland? Its friendlier and prettier than that inferior "latch-on-to-whoever is winning something" police state shitehole you call England. I'd opt to push you out over the North Atlantic, if only to hear your pathetic bleating for mercy... the same as your sailors did with Iran last year.

Don't surrender to me - I don't take prisoners ;-)
