+++ YouGov Whisper Number : 26% Tory Lead +++

Did Guido mention before that we told you so?

John Hutton didn't mince his words when he gave Nick Robinson his prediction. He was right.
He made this forecast (video here) to a Question Time audience. He got it wrong, it took five months.
They are going to miss three times election winning Blair when he is gone. Wait and see...
26 June 2007
UPDATE : It occurs to Guido that Michael Portillo may now have to revise his opinion. So Brillo, tonight on the This Week show, ask Polly if he still thinks, as he did only two months ago, that "Brown will win the election".

I simply don't accept that there's been any opinion poll at all, and if there has been a poll it has clearly been just more bad news for David Cameron, and as if further evidence was needed, clearly Gordon is the best man for the job and we're all 110% behind him and I simply don't accept any suggestion that Ken is dong anything other than a fine job at the GLC......

If NuLab give in gracefully now and call an election they have a faint hope of regaining power after one or two parliaments. But if they cling to office up to the bitter end, and spend their last few months attempting to gerrymander the constitution, it's quite likely that the Labour Party will be completely destroyed in the ensuing upheaval. Some of the more reflective (i.e. calculating) Labour MPs and ministers must surely be starting to worry if they'll have any political future at all after Brown has led them to oblivion.

mitch said...

Expect a deputation of backbenchers and party officials to certain Senior Cabinet Ministers and the Chief Whip imploring them to act before the Party Conference in September whilst there is still a party to lead. It's no longer about winning the next election it's now about salvaging the Party from electoral oblivion for a generation.

Milliband will wait until after the election is lost before mounting his challenge whilst backing Straw as "caretaker" leader and PM in the interim. The question is :-

a) Can they convince Gordon to go for the sake of the party and can they give him the alibi of "failing health" ?

b) Can they then withstand the pressure from the media and electorate not to call an election> Probably 50/50 as they know they will lose and a goodly number of the Cabinet(including Jack) will lose their seats although Miliband will still be ok even given these figures although the "fly in the ointment" is that so will Ed Balls and that Gordon may endorse him as his preferred candidate although perhaps that's not helpful to Balls.

Either way there will be panic and widespread despondency on Labour backbenches tonight

Now now, remember that this is barely enough to overcome labour's inbuilt advantage. Tories would still have a very narrow majority of, erm, 288 if these results held up. Using an adjusted poll to account for usual bonus to Tory votes - +3% Tories, -3% Lab - gives a barely survivable majority of... 366

Remember that there is no chance of Gordon losing the next election and the UK will not return a government led by a Toff like Cameron. Even if it were, it would most likely be a hung parliament with the government staying labour with Lib Dem support. My adjusted poll gives a fearsome PLP of 95 seats, which combined with the 18 LD would stymie any attempt by the Tories to enact policy.

Expect much higher taxes and more social programs as the UK is led by Gordon Brown for another 5 yeas on the might of 113 seats to the miniscule Tory rump of 508!

These Scotch, parasite, trot worms like Broon, Reid, Dougie Henderson (ever heard of him) et al were crawling all over student politics in yoonis like Glasgow, Strathclyde and Edinburgh in the seventies. They never seemed to spend any time at lectures but magically all attained spectacular grades.

It was an era that hatched - fervent socialists, conspiring with their marxist, fabian mentors to infiltrate and subvert the Labour party. The thickos there of course deferred to these creeps mainly because unlike most of the brothers they could string two words together.

The English electorate and media of course never got to know them in their gestation stage and elected the parasites as part of the job lot under, nice English, Oxbridge Bliar in 1997.

The rest is history. They have totally fucked the country up have enriched themselves in the process. Labour claimed at the time that it had purged its militant tendency. They had not. They had just morphed into respectability by then.

Too many people know McTwat as a loony student at university in Scotland. Maybe that is why he hates Scotland because so many in Scotland know and loathe him.

My advice - throw him in the Tower and let the ravens pick his other eye out.

There is a very easy way to put the man out of his misery. I have no idea why no-one has yet had the decency to do it.

Show the video of his hand tremor - asymmetric, low frequency, large amplitude, relatively proximal - to a handful of senior neurologists. There is no doubt they will all agree that it is indicative of a Parkinsonian disorder. Everything - the indecision, the inflexibility, the obsession with detail, the narrow focus, the intellectual inertia - is thereby explained. Publish their opinion and he will step down within a week.

The man is no longer an agent, but a patient, and we should treat him as such. We should ridicule him for his faults no more than we should ridicule a blind man for failing to see our punch, a deaf-mute for missing a joke, or a paraparetic for tripping in the street. It is time Gordon Brown was released into the hands of the medical profession his government has done so much to destroy.

Certainly we senior members of the Parilamentary Labour Party have every confidence not only in Gordon's own rude state of physical and mental health, but also in his ability and his steadfast determination to restore the economic and social health of the country as a whole, and it is only a very short matter of time before the illusory nature of David Cameron's shallow Tory opposition is exposed for what it is, and I can say wholeheartedly that I for one look forward to many more years of New Labour government under Gordodn's exemplary leadership......

It is of course also important to focus on the warm and positive friendship that to my own personal knowledge Tony and Gordon have enjoyed for many years and continue to enjoy and I'm sure that Tony for one would want us all to be clear about his enthusiastic support for Gordon's leadership and that Gordon has his wholhearted backing and confidence in what are unquestionably turbulent economic times internationally but what the electorate (to whom the Government is of course listening closely) should be saying to themsleves at this time is, who has the proven track record to lead us through these times after an unparalelled period of financial growth and stability throughout Gordon's chancellorship.....

Trenchard is right, it is. They will be reduced to 120 to 130 MPs, with no peerages to sell, no quango sinecures to hand out, and no way to raise money at all. There'll be no more politicised civil service to do their party hackwork, no grassroots to campaign for them, and very shortly no state broadcaster spinning lies on their behalf. So no way to get their stupid hate-filled opinions out there. And on top of all that they are 20 million squid in the hole and probably nearly if not actually technically insolvent.

None of their favoured Gordo successors will have a seat after the next election and there'll be no safe seat left for them anywhere. They won't be a legitimate party any more at all. They'll just be a regional lobby for monoglot Asian immigrants, the workshy, and people with sex problems, who live in northern England.

They will not survive opposition. It's over. They're gone.

The only way this could be better is it they were already polling third. And I think they soon will.

I understand that Liebour are now resorting to "Warwick II" with the trades unions in order to dig them out of the financial hole. The deal is you give us money and a list of demands and we implement them by stealth. However, Liebour ignored many of the demands in "Warwick I" probably because Tony only saw such an accommodation as a necessary evil. Gordo is further up shit creek, so we can look forward to the Unions effectively running the country for the next 2 years. I hope they repeat the success they had in the late 70's. Expect pressure for major hikes in higher rate tax, ceiling removed from NIC, plenty of anti-business legislation, the departure of many more companies to foreign shores and the stifling of what remains of enterprise. Cameron will have a hard job turning this around.

However, though it would be satisfying to see McTwat completely and utterly destroyed, hounded from the office he craved and schemed over for more than a decade in less than a year because he is just fucking shite, it would not save NuLabor. There is no way they could have yet another unelected Prime Minister, yet equally there is no way they could risk an election. They will stick with McTwat till the end, it's a suicide pact.

Look at this way: Tesstes and his ladyboy "wife" must, between them, screw at least £400,000 a year out of the taxpayer. If the General Election can be delayed a couple of years this pair of thieving cunts will be up almost a million quid. Given that they will never get another job, they will need that money to open up the tranvestite cabaret bar in Pattaya Beach they are always talking about. So there you have it.
