The Way He Tells 'Em

Fraser Nelson on CoffeeHouse says Gordon's joke at Google's Zeitgeist conference yesterday in which he claims to have seen a banner saying “worldwide campaign against globalisation” is familiar. Brown used it in January '08, July '07, March '07, Jan '07 and November '06 and (first) in a Newsweek article in September '06. Fraser reckons Brown lifted the slogan not from a demo, but an April 2000 article by William Keegan here.

This is not the first time his speech writers have recycled an anecdote repeatedly. Yesterday Guido joked with his broker that if Jonah Brown was speaking to Google maybe it was time to short GOOG stock. "Don't be silly" said the broker "GOOG is enjoying a mega bull run". GOOG stock closed down $2.55 on the day cursed by Jonah Brown...

Why do we have a talentless bastard as pm, pun intended said...

Guido,

Can you tell me why the snotgobbler's ^parable of the talents' is not worth of a post?

It makes him look like an idiot and it's all of his own making.

Is there something I've misunderstood?

The only zeitgeist I know of is "We're doomed, I tell you, we're all doomed". How fitting to have Jonah McTwat headlining.

Messengers are getting "bigger than the message" these days and last night Newssnight had political editor in a kitchen breaking eggs (better than wind I suppose )But I fear Crick was actually there making a cake for his 50th Birthday which I am sure Newsnight will celebrate with Gordy and the Dial-eye-lama in tow ..

apparently Milburn is about to challenge Brown at the weekend.

Can we start a SAVE GORDON campaign?

Only he can guarantee a Tory victory

No worse than Cameron's swipe at Brown as being "an a analogue man in a digital age". This was nicked from GWB's sneer waaaay back in the 2000 US Presidential Election that Al Gore was guilty of "analog thinking in a digital age, 28K thinking in a broadband era, an eight-track ideology in an MP3 world."

US candidates walk the plank for plagiarism. Ours just carry on pocketing the 'expenses'.

A new nickname for Brown - the anti-Midas? Why? Because everything he touches turns to shit...

He was pictured with a load of soldiers yesterday in the Sun. I'm dreading what calamity will befall Her Majesty's Armed Forces now.

Al B - is an "anti-Midas" a "Merdas"?

Did y'all see the look on the faces of Milburn 'n Byers as they were >forced< out over the weekend to campaign for Tamsin 'I'm just like you workers of the world' Dunwoody.

This must've been on Sopel's Politics show 'cause Marr clearly had decided not to grapple with any 'hard questions.' Marr being Marr waiting for it all to blow over so he can keep on playing the game of Vicar of Bray.

An interviewer asked Milburn (who looked decidedly pissed-off) the fave question of the minute - is Gordon an asset ? (silent implication of or a f**king disaster). Answer, words to the effect ... Gordon is the leader ... and as such that makes him the leader (known as the Dunwoody handoff) ... Byers then came on with something like ... and that's what we're gonna tell 'em down this street ... LOL/ROTFL

They're f**ck*d and they know it.

To Hell with NuLab/Nu(B)Liars and all your works!

How many times has Brown cracked the joke about Olof Palme?

TOLD YOU! I did say yesterday that if Jonah was going to do YouTube PMQ's with his 'public' that it was time to short Google stock.

God, I could retire soon on just using Jonah as a stock predictor.

It takes a very long time for Gordon to learn an off the cuff joke, so he has to re-tell them as much as possible. I think he is actually proud of his joke telling as he thinks it makes him look like a "fun guy"; he is of course wrong.

Matthew d'Ancona seemed very impressed with him and the way he "paced the stage". I disagree. I thought the way he walked from side to side was very offputting and reminded me of Guido's "shaking fist" video that he put together from a PMQs from the end of last year, around the time that Gord bottled the election. Yes, he smiled a bit, but he still looked very uncomfortable at suddenly being among a group of such "cool guys" and, whereas Bliar would have looked right at home, it was clear to me that it was probably one of the hardest things Gord has ever managed to do, short of trying to stop himself from hurling a phone across the chamber at Dave on a Wednesday lunchtime!

Yeah i remember hearing the turd use that lame joke.
I absolutley hate it because it is such a pathetic 6th form critique. The anti-globilisation movement is not opposed to the internet or global networking etc.... they are against international exploitation and oppression, they use the term anti-globalisation in the same way Labour have adopted the word labour...doesn't mean to say any of the cunts have every done a decent days work in their lives.

Gordo has nicked most of his ideas from the late 70s so why not the "jokes".

thick as thieves said...

gordon just doesn't get it.
he is the joke.
and such a bad one that he is stinking the place out.
what a fucking stench!
and the rotten stink he emanates can be smelt as far away as crewe.
