Steve Richards: Fails Numeracy Test
The man who told us last week that if we were only as clever as him we would vote for Ken Livingstone, demonstrates his genius again this morning in the Indy.
So what, if anything, can Brown do to avoid a 1997 landslide in reverse? Currently, a fatal narrative is in place. It can be summarised in three words: "Brown is a disaster".Via Dizzy.

O/T Polly's latest spewings have been removed from CIF, but you can still find today's article here

...And I can decribe Richsrd in four words, "The man is a vile, pompous twat whose views are worthless!"
In case you missed Harriet Harperson's contribution to the tax debate on Sunday

Despite first appearances, Steve Richards is a wonderful asset for the Tories.
His willingness to remain onside and justify the status quo with sophistry and bollocks may well persuade those Labour Party sympathisers who know better to go with the flow or just shut them up.
Rightly or wrongly, (alright then -quite rightly) the public perception of Brown is that he is incompetent, untrustworthy, cowardly and worst of all a loser (and as will become relevant after Wendy's intervention - Scottish).
He may manage to rehabilitate his image within Labour ranks but he could turn water into wine and the public would jeer at him.
So, keep it up Steve, you're doing a grand job.
I would never fail a numeracy test.
2+2=22
Breaking News.....
Rumours that Stevie wears a wig and is tormented by "sexual confusion" are rife but, being the stout fellow that he is, Stevie is totally unconcerned and will sldier on as normal with his tongue wedged firmly up Brown's arsehole.

Resign.
as numerate as bbc news who yesterday reported the ftse closed up 128 points when actually the market was closed.
it showed up on the ticker at the bottom of the screen.
A Naked Gun moment.
Ref Weygand above - in due course history will record that the beginning of the end for Brown & Co and his New Labour "modernisers" of the Political Class started at the Scots parliamentary elections in May 2007 when Scots voters had the courage to end the hegemony of Brown and New Labour in Scotland and gathered momentum in the Council and London Mayor elections in England in May 2008. You may be surprised to know that if anything Brown and his New Labour cronies are detested even more so in Scotland. Brown didn't even have the good grace to contact the new first Minister Alex Salmond to wish him well so I would be surprised if he contacts Boris Johnston to do the same. Brown has also spent his last year trying to obstruct policies and initiatives of the new Scots Government and I would not be surpised if he does the same with those of Boris Johnston. Even though I think Boris is more than a match for Brown I would urge Boris to watch out when Brown;s about!!!!!!!!!!
@lillith: - read Polly's blitherings, but for me the icing on the cake is a comment by 'EvilTory' - outstanding!!
Maybe he's just trying to fit in after all the dunces in London voted Boris in.
Brown should be left in place and encouraged to be brave and take unpalatable decisions governing this country.
He knows very well that the exodus to Eire will be halted, not by the Treasury or U-Turns, but by Brussels, that they will invoke the unfair playing field analogy and demand a level tax policy across the EU.
Dissent of course should be encouraged if only to show the democratic principles at work in LieBour. But of course the iron fist will ensure compliance and falling into line when it comes to Commons votes.
This will be guaranteed to ensure a reprise of '97 in DC's favour.
As for disloyal hacks, Boris's euthanasia comment comes to mind ;-)
Brown can't U-turn on Bin taxes. This rotten Government signed up for them years ago at an EU meeting.
Pity UKIP only got 1% of the London vote.
If you look at the New Labour website ('new Labour for Britain') you will see Gordon's post-drubbing address; you know the one, 'Gordon Brown promises to listen and lead'. It begins "First of all I congratulate all those who have been successful in being elected Labour councillors...." And I was immediately struck by this: Gordon resists extending his congratulations to any others who were successful (having been successful owing to the will of the people, of course). There is not the briefest mention of the Mayoral election result (perhaps to extend best wishes - or even good luck for Christ's sake - to one of the now most powerful and influential people in the country).
Now, was Brown bound to offer congratulation to non-Labour victors? Was it vital that he do so? Of course not. But isn't recognition of others' efforts & success about respect; about charm, about grace; about decency: whatever you want to call it. And isn't this just further evidence that Brown is not only a deeply unpleasant character but also chronically socially inept?
Or is Brown only leading and listening to Labour voters/councillors, etc., etc?
Seems that way, doesn't it?
Guido, send him to one of the MP's daughter's parties, a night on ectos will surely drag brown out of 1932..
Failing that, can someone give him a slap and call him a twat?
Hold on- should that not be:- 'Steve Richards fails intelligence test'?
On the subject of sums, Gordon Brown's attack-hamster Douglas Alexander, made an extraordinary claim on Today on 5 May:
"we have put in place mechanisms that have sustained more than 60 quarters of economic growth over the last decade"
What a remarkable ten years it has been!
Michael Davies
you would think the new labour war party members had been out there digging all day and all night the way they brag about the economy. we, the taxpayers were earning the dollars. all that the spastics in the new labour war party did was spend our hard earned cash very badly and far too quickly. infact they spent our dough at such a rapid rate that they would never have been able to get value from it because such vast spending simply cannot be monitered. not only did they receive the highest revenues in this country's history but they have also borrowed hundreds of billions of pounds.
fucking useless cunts.
note to brown: not only are a fucking idiot, you are also a pathological liar.
you are like a terrible wife-beating husband who for ten years lectures his wife about prudence and hardwork. so the wife is prudent and hardworking for ten years. but then the wife discovers that during that time, her husband had been gambling away the house. and what wasn't gambled he gave away to his friends.
that sums you up brown. you are a complete cunt.
and a total spastic, ofcourse.
