Meltdown : Brown Beaten by Calamity Clegg

On Wednesday Brown mocked Nick Clegg as a calamity, so how must it feel to be beaten by him this morning? The BBC is projecting the Conservatives will have 44%, the Liberal Democrats 25% and Labour last on 24%.

Labour are projected to lose over 200 seats, a meltdown performance not seen for over a generation. Brown is nowhere to be seen this morning and all the claims of the Brownies ring hollow - their line was that in times of economic difficulty voters would cling to Gordon's authority and economic competence. Oh, no they didn't...

These are real votes, not poll results and if repeated at a general election would give the Tories some 400 seats at Westminster and a majority of 138.

Highlights of last night were Richard Littlejohn bitch-slapping Polly Toynbee into silence on Question Time, Geoff Hoon making a Comical Ali style tit of himself and the surreal idiocy of the BBC's Jeremy Vine dressed up in a cowboy suit making a fool of himself. The Guidoisation of public service broadcasting is perhaps not the best direction for them to go...

From 2330 until 0230 this site had a live chat running which had 744 viewers making instant comments which was great fun as the night wore on. Great fun which we will seek to repeat during PMQs in the future.

It was brilliant.

The PLP must be waking up this morning going 'I had this horrible nightmare last night.... OH FUCK, IT WAS TRUE'
but beware, there is as they say -

nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing to loose.

and that now includes every member of the PLP - the shocked silence will be replaced with a very nasty rearguard action - beware.

I dreamt last night that Labour were completly screwed and are the most hated party for a generation. I dreamt they did so badly that even the LibDems did even better that them. Wow, if only dreams came true.

Any bets that Brown will not be seen for at least a week due to being budy some global crisis

Oh deep joy!! No Liebour-controlled councils in N Wales - blimey, armageddon! I've just had the dubious pleasure of listening to Harperson fuddling up her mucking words on Today and News 24. Rattled or what?

McBean is true to form - nowhere to be seen. Probably being schooled right now by his herd of expensive but utterly impotent spin docs for yet another relaunch. Once again, you can't polish a turd. Either that or he's scanning the jobs pages. No, silly me, he's quite unemployable, that's why he's a politician.

Just give us Boris this afternoon. If so, days don't come much better than this.

Not quite O/T; The Labour Party needs to pay off some loans sometime soon. This isn't going to be good for fundraising. How are the books looking?

As posted above - does anyone know where we can say the hallowed Littlejohn denigrate Polly Hypocrite without having to re-watch the whole programme?

(You can do it Guido?)

Why should voters vote for Brown in times of economic difficulty, when he created these difficult times in the first place?

Have to say the biggest Tit of the night was Jeremy Vine. Perhaps like Brown his advisers are shit scared to say anything to him.

Where is Jonah Bean?
What next for Nulabour?
Why is it that B.Liar seems untarnished but is implicitly guilty?
Who in Nulabour will come out to play today?
What diverting issues will they bring out to gloss over the meltdown?
Where is Scotland the brave?
Why was the Brown pension crime forgiven all those years ago?
Will the credit previously gushed out by filthy street regarding Gordo now be properly reported?
Who will be Beans Judas?

It's going to be a long day looking for the bastards.

You are of course absolutely right.

I'm just wondering though what I would do if I were in their position.

Johnson could be their Major.

Robbo blogs that they wont change their leader.

I disagree - what have they got to lose?

Getting rid of Gordon could be the strongest sign that they have listened.

People have very short memories and unforeseen events can turn the political picture very quickly.

Guido, please untwist your knickers. This is just a local election, remember? When we get the chance to give the government a free kicking without the risk of the other lot getting into power.

Awoke this glorious morning to the dawn chorus of Eeyore Humphries - oh dear, sweet Harriet what will we do?

Talking backwards, Gollumesque - why sweet ass, we will have to listen more.

Oh, sweet Harriet have you not been listening for the last thirteen years?

But yes, sweet ass, but now we will listen more.

Someone should dig out the BBC interviews when it was the Tories being routed and compare them to this historically significant watershed and the way the BBC Today team played soft-footsie now. The people had roared "A pox on the Labour house" and the Today team closed the window and snuggled up to Harriet.

SC.....We will give them a bigger kicking come the general election!

The people of this country are really hurting!

OK. So unless I've missed it Cameron & Clegg have been on TV this morning, but for the second time this week that poor cow Harman has been shoved in the hot seat with no sign of Brown. In my day (sorry!) it used to be called 'hiding behind a woman's skirts' and, whatever the circumstances, it was considered an odious thing for a man to do. 'Nuff said!

The people said...

.
Where's Gordon?

His Silence is deafening.

zeno said...

The highlight for me was watching Hoon standing, sweating, eyes rolling madly round like marbles in a saucer, pretending not to hear Dimblebore.

Priceless.

Well before his coronation,Toynwasp was touting brown as the saviour. Then as she realised what a dolt he was she moved against him, then back onside when it became clear there wouldn't be a challenger. They have no alternative and Vine,a top-level BBC employee even held up a picture and stated Brown had become Bean.People know we've got an incompetent in Downing street.Even the BBC are forced to admit it.

A good start. But, please don't forget that when Brown shuffles off to a nice little earner in the EU (as he doubtless will) we will still be controlled by the EUssr.

I want freedom from socialist wankers attempting to run every aspect of my life and that starts with the removal of Nu Liebour and will end with us leaving the socialist driven EU.

Having said that, it is still a good day to watch the Nu Liebour maggots squirm.

about unlucky men who lost their seats,
And though the news was rather sad,
I just had to laugh...

Anyone else feel like the next few weeks are going to be great fun? I don't reckon Brown will go - nobody has the balls to finish him off, and he's so deluded he can't realise how unpopular he is.

He'll cling on until the next election and be utterly humbled and humiliated!

After Labour lost the Scottish Parliament in 2007 Brown literally disappeared for a week before popping up grinning and nodding beside Blair at PMQ the following Thursday. We still haven't got a clue what drove him to ground or where he went between Scotland and Westminster.

You may have a long wait to see what he thinks about this one.

Posted a comment about Polly's Tuscan villa which apparently is next door to Tessa Jowell's villa and Geoffrey Robinson's villa. Not to mention Silvio Berlusconi's holiday home for UK prime ministers. She had a rant about those dreadful people with second homes not so long ago. What a fucking hypocrite she is. Makes me want to sick on her head.

They moderated my comment out of existence of course. So much for "Comment is Free"...

If you want free speech you're better off with Guido...

Yes where is GB? Given its such a "bad news day" for Labour you would expect him to - yes not around. Is he on holiday?

Anyway, we can expect more of the same given Harriet (what £350k)Harman on BBC 4 Today earlier this morning. Seems like we can expect more "focus" and more "listening"
Thats good then - Labour still full of ideas!

Much being made by the Broonites of the state of the economy in affecting their results- as if it's a factor beyond their control!

Lest we forget people, the 10 year plan for the Age of Change was designed and executed by the Great Leader himself, pumping borrowed cash into public services to create a client electorate and manufacture a feeling of prosperity (as credit tends to do!)

That is to say nothing of leaving the door open to swathes of immigrants in order to create yet more fractured communities that Labour can pretend to champion while really holding them back.

There can be no hiding behind economic circumstances for the very architect of those circumstances.

Toynbee gets personal about Littlejohn's wages....then complains about getting personal when it comes to her villa.

Politics is about the personal the fact that scrotes like Toynbee want to hide their personal habits is all we need to know that they are twats.

In reality, Toynbee and her ilk are as right wing and selfish as it gets. It's just they like to think they are left wing and demand everyone else is. I mean she could pass a a republican senator.
