Will There Be Tears at the Leaving Party?
Spencer Livermore has been at Gordon's side for over a decade. He is now off to Saatchi. His departure had been rumoured for some months - since Gordon's ranting started reducing him to tears. The hard-drinking Damian McBride is said to be next...

Knowing this shower... - ... yes, there will be tears.
And a group hug.
Saatchi must be desperate.
Guido,
Will you be pursuing Snottie's Constituency's courting of the solicitors ripping off the coal miners' compensation fund? The Sunday Mail ran this last week, £125,000,000 to date. Set to rise many times over. Wonder how much gets diverted to Labour coffers?
Why are Gay Gordo's girlies always so precious?
How long before Carter gets shot of Gordon? Only room for one giant ego at No 10.
Gordon owes Mr Livermore an apology as he was right to advise Gordon to go to thre polls last Autumn. How was he to know that his boss, would do what all bullies do when under pressure and loose his bottle?
Gordon may have reduced his faithful aid to tears over the affair but it will be Gordon that will be shedding tears at the next election.
I thought bullying in the workplace was supposed to be illegal. Perhaps Mr Livermore was blinded by Love for his Master.
Yesterday there was heated debate on Ireland with certian commentators denigrating its social and economic record. As a matter of record, if you compare Ireland to the UK over the period 1997 - 2007 in terms of GDP per head in US$ PPP, the facts show: -
UK $20,144 (1997), $35,300 (2007) after 10 years of Brown's tax and spend economic miracle; Ireland $20,006 (1997), $45,600 (2007) after 10 years of low tax economy and, doubtless, healthy contributions from the EU Cohesion Fund. Perhaps the Irish have further to fall now?
Seems like a nice boy as Larry Grayson would have put it. Have he and Broon had a ex-marital tiff?

O/T: that pitiful cringing weakling Swiss Des is trying to get the High Court to ban coroners from criticising the failings of the MOD, so bereaved families of soldiers don't get a chance to claim compensation. What a truly obscene government this is, they'd rather pay lawyers to stop criticism of themselves than pay for proper equipment for front line soldiers.
The following is doing the rounds on the internet - I think it could be appropriately addressed to Gordon Brown and HMG as well: -
Petition To President Bush And Congress
We the undersigned have read and agree with the open letter at http://market-ticker.denninger.net/letters/open-letter.pdf which has been faxed to you by its originator, Karl Denninger.
We believe that Congress and The President must act immediately in order to regain financial stability in our capital markets and economic stability in our nation.
The intentional acts of malfeasance and willful neglect by our lawmakers, legislators, the Executive and those organizations chartered by same must end here and now or we shall face a financial catastrophe unseen in the United States since The Great Depression.
Specifically, we recognize this willful neglect as the cause of and hold you accountable for:
• The incessant “pumping” of financial assets and home values as a “replacement” for actual gains in purchasing power, all built upon the fraudulent premise that “cheap and easy credit” can be extended forever, and in ever-greater amounts, without consequence. This is the root cause of the housing crisis. It is also responsible for the inevitable wave of defaults and personal financial destruction that will be experienced in our nation.
• The belief that contraction of house prices to historical affordable levels, as a consequence of this financial bubble popping, can be avoided. It cannot, and attempting to interfere with this process will only further damage our economy and the financial security of our nation and citizens.
• The concept that we can “tax and spend our way to prosperity”, when nothing of the sort has ever worked before nor will it work in the future.
• The belief that we can offshore our production of goods without consequence and replace those jobs with “financial engineering”, when in fact what has happened is that our wages fell while those of other nations rose, and the alleged “gains” via financial engineering have been proven to be false.
• The claim of financial regulatory authority followed immediately by the willful abdication of that responsibility, allowing rampant fraud and ever-increasing amounts of leverage to be substituted for actual gains in productive output – in short, your willful participation in an enormous global Ponzi Scheme which is now in the process of collapse - at the citizens' expense.
• The ongoing destruction of financial security for the middle class and those on fixed incomes as a direct and proximate consequence of global loss of confidence in our currency and its impact on all imported goods, especially energy. The rapidly increasing cost of energy cannot be isolated as petroleum cost ultimately shows up in everything since oil is used in the manufacturing and transportation of nearly all goods.
We call up on Congress and The Executive to immediately force those agencies under its jurisdiction, including but not limited to OFHEO, OCC, OTS and The Federal Reserve to perform their proper and stated regulatory functions through both public pronouncement and appropriate legislation.

OT: The Guardian reports today that Ken Livingstone's campaign received a boost as "Greg Dyke voiced his support".
Whooooooooooooo!!!!!
It seems that the media villagers are even more deluded than the spin merchants in Downing Street.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Children, Families and Schools, Ed Balls, had both spent the past few weeks trying to persuade Mr Livermore to stay.
And what was the form of persuasion? Answers on a postcard.
Only at his side?
Damian sounds like a decent bloke...hard drinking etc.,
Nobody likes working for a bully
Previous turd polisher quits in a hissy fit because new turd polisher called him a queen.
Deck chairs. Titanic.
So what?
There's nothing that any amount of spin can do to divert the public's attention from the rapid realisation that the last 11 years have been just one long tax and waste binge and a rape of the taxpayer for discernable benefit whatsoever.
Please remind me why New Labour exist?
Gordo is getting to be like the Emperor Nero, fiddling while Rome burns.
Spencer leaving Gordon? My what a bummer.
China has set about murdering the monks, Miliblogger wrings his hands, and here we are worrying about Bruin's staff problems.
Priorities dear boy, priorities!
New format to find a replacement.
I'd do anything
For you, Gordon, anything
Yes I'd do anything
ANYTHING ?
Anything , for you.
Would take the rap?
Anything.
For all my crap?
Anything
When I'm in a flap?
Anything.
Anything?
Anything,for you
And would you say I'm great?
Anything.
And would you be my mate?
Anything
And we could go on a date?
Erm .. well not anything..
NEXT.
According to the Pink'un Lily is the 'most important gay person in British politics'. Surely some mistake?
It seems the ditherer is at it again can't make his mind up over wether to meet the Dalai Lama or not, what a tosser.
tears???
Don't you mean ripped and torn sphincters.
Geordie Scoot at 8.52
Thanks for that. Les mots juste.
love from stanislav
Nobody in their right mind wants to work for a loser, unless you can't get a job anywhere else!!!
Spencer Livermore - engaging, fey and fragrant. Damian McBride, however, is a whole different concept... Damian is indeed a 'thirsty fellow', but also a serious player in the media relations arena and a vicious bastard when he wants to be. If Snotty thinks that Damian McBride will quietly walk off ino the sunset a-la Spencer Livermore when the time comes, he is in for a very rude awakening. Damian has buried more bodies (not to mention journalists) for Broon than anyone else and the last person you should upset when the chips are down is someone like him. As has been mentioned before on this Blog, 'Hell hath no fury like a Spin Doctor scorned' - especially after a few drinks...

Urgh! What's up with his face? looks like someone's grabbed his chin with one hand, his forehead with another and stretched his head.
So Lily-livered Livermore's about to leave, eh?
The words rats, deserting and sinking ship spring to mind!
Spencer is, quite possibly, the most gormless man I've ever met. A jut-jawed, lanky, maniacally laughing. Not the sharpest tool in the box, but what do you expect, he was a Brownite. I always knew he was a wrong'un.
Looks a bit like this man, but nowhere near as smart or funny.
Blair must be quietly pissing himself laughing now. He leaves, just as The Snotgobbler's ten years of financial crappery come home to roost.
Meanwhile Snotgobbler, who rashly announced that his would not be a government of spin, now has to try to spin his way out of the steaming pile of shit that is UK PLC. Suck on that, Gordo...
..Will he be riding his rocking horse off into the sunset?

interesting how a Tory likes to kick the scousers but is too shit scared to mention the massive immigrant unemployed areas, which grow by the day. London, leicester and birmingham etc.
PC conservatives, what a vile combination.
Shut that door!
"Who's this bloke?" I asked her.
"Go-o-ordon," she replied
"Not that puff!" I said dismayed
"Yes, but he's no puff," she cried
"- He's more of a man than you'll ever be."
They will be shampooing the KY jelly out of the carpet for months.
You bunch of vile homophobic Tories! Didn't anyone explain to you that your party is supposed to have changed, with out gay MPs and new inclusiveness? Ooops, clearly not. Anyone with any illusions about this "change" need just read this blog.
I object to your accusation.
Who are you calling "Tory".
Perhaps McBride will soon be free to make another attempt to join MI6...his first attempt, while he was at Cambridge, proved a dismal failure. Spook's you, sir?
