The government's preferred inflation measure (CPI) is up 2.2%. Surprise, surprise Welsh Assembly members have voted themselves an inflation smashing 8.3% pay rise. Plenty of pork for them. Other public sector workers such as nurses and policeman have been held to rate of inflation increases. Unlike politicians they aren't able to vote themselves a pay rise...

so the welsh assembly members are willing to cause inflationary pressure to the economy by voting themselves an 8.3% wage increase.
local councils are also raising their charges by more than double the rate of inflation.
very anti-social, inflation causing behaviour indeed.
when people abuse privileges, those privileges should be removed. it is worth noting the public sector pension implications. such large wage increases constitute a change of terms of the pension, in the favour of the members. a definite abuse of privileges.
note to welsh member zombies:I have large stocks of silver bullets and adequate wall metreage allocated to despatch all zombies.
however I have started to feel somewhat redundant because it seems as though you zombie flesheaters are intent on blowing your own brains out!

Speaking as a Welshman, I am annoyed and ashamed that these individuals are the very ones wanting to increase the powers of the Welsh Assembly, no doubt to pass yet more laws and raise yet more taxes !
This does not bode well for this plan and I think their ambitions need to be quelled a little bit before the Principality is subject to three layers of taxation with minimal representation, from the Bay, from Westminster and from the Brussels Bureautwats..
Stop this madness now !!!!
Simple, time to scrap Westminster MPs for Wales & Scotland, then just give them a proportional number of votes to cast on defense and foreign policy issues.
And end the Barnett formula robbery now !

But dig a little deeper and you find a grubby racist and anti English regime developing in the Welsh ASSembly. If you speak Welsh you get all the jobs in government and you get to the front of the queue in public service jobs! English people in Wales are the subject of gross discrimnation now and its getting worse by the day. Taffy is very happy with English cash of course but will stoop to the lowest levels to keep them out of government. A few years from now Wales will be run by a small grouping of republican/nationalists who will run it like a crooked little version of Cuba.
What I would like to know is why the Welsh are now entitled to free parking at NHS hospitals, no wonder heavily subsidised by English taxpayers, yet this policy will not apply to English hospitals.

And just as long as you take your share of the national debt - or did you think that all belonged to England as well, like the priviledge of paying for everything?
Easy solution - cut the wasters in westminster. Three quarters of issues are now devolved - they do nothing of use. Then maybe wales gets a parliament like scotland rather than the micey mouse assembly.

Folks, the thingy about the 'free parking' is a red herring to distract you from slightly poorer performance figures in the Welsh NHS [although they are doing much better on MRSA and the quality of hospital food].
As the Chinese would say 'Be careful what you wish for..' - you might end up getting free parking to distract your attention from worsening services in England if things start to unravel.
And some hospitals are exempt from the 'free parking' edict as they are PFI'd up to their eyeballs for the rest of this century...
p.s. - I think the real story here is that the Welsh AMs want 82% of the salary of Westminster MPs even though they don't really pass any laws. So they will then argue that as they are being paid almost as much, they might as well have law making powers. Oh, and then once they have the same law-making powers, they will be after 100% of what Westminster MPs are paid - plus perks [Surely 'Porks' ?]
