Taxi for Mr Pienaar

The LibDems have laid on buses for people to go from the main hotel to the conference centre. John Pienaar of BBC radio refuses to get on and instead orders taxis for the same trip. Hey, it is only the telly tax payers' money...

That's because the BBC, like their Labour masters, are much, much better than us common mortals and so much deserve their gold-plated luxury for the job they do in ramming news information down the throats of a totally thankless British public.

"News information"? Propaganda I think.

Anyone see the Enoch Powell speech programme in BBC 2's "White" season? Interesting. The highlight for me was that unspeakable windbag Roy Hattersley saying he hated Enoch at the time and he hates him now. I thought the Left didn't do hate crime? Oh, of course, it's OK to hate and attack those who disagree if they are on the right and white.

The programme exposed all the usual suspects, Jenkins, Heath, Heseltine, Blair in the relentless betrayal of our country, whether to barmy Europe or tides of immigration.

The paradox of the programme was delivered, perhaps inadvertently, by demonstrating the inherently peaceful nature of the huge white working class protests in support of Enoch and against immigration and the rabid, hate-filled violence of the "Liberal" Left arrayed against him. Such it was and such it is. The "Liberal" Left - hypocrites every one.

The BBC Point of View message board is currently in meltdown. The moderators are deleting any post that talks about the new White series of documentaries.

I forgot to mention that the somewhat twisted conclusion of the programme was that the "extremism" of Enoch's speech was the cause of the self-imposed censorship that has prevented rational discussion about the subject of immigration. This in turn led to a failure to challenge the flawed concept of multi-culturalism (now re-invented as "diversity"). So it really was all Enoch's fault. This is a clever little scheme by the "Liberal" Left. It means they can continue to hate Enoch and u-turn on their stupidly destructive multi-culturalism/diversity ideas without having to admit he was right. Dissembling, devious bastards!

What we need is for the Tories to sell off the BBC. While trying to find out what time the rugby starts, I happened upon a politics programme on BBC2 fronted by Tim Donovan (who seemed broadly OK). The subject was that legendary victim,Mr Lee Jasper whose corner was being fought by a man called John Ross who is apparently Ken's economic adviser. Ross achieved the incredible feat of making John Prescott look attractive and charming and making Gordon Brown look like someone who can answer a straightforward question in an honest manner.

BTW if any of Ken's acolytes read this please suggest to Ross that he gets his thyroid checked if he hasn't done so recently - the Marty Feldman eyes were quite unnerving.

Also, it might be that John Pienaar refuses to be "treated" by the politicians he is supposed to be keeping an eye on. Even if this is just to be taken for a ride...

Labour only survive because of the corrupt BBC News department.

The way things are now, the BBC News department is part of the political process whether they like it or not, but they are completely UNELECTED. As a result the democratic process is utterly warped and corrupted, and is a total sham.

Reform the way these undemocratic news programmes operate or close them down and open up the digital broadcasting infrastructure to allow dozens of other companies to provide simultaneous news programmes - we choose by a Remote from an on-screen menu which comes up at News time. We did it to BT - so we can do it to the BBC.

Something must be done about the ludicrous outrage that is News broadcasting at the moment.

Yes - that's a critical issue as well.

Most of the "Indie" companies that provide around 30% of the beeb's output are staffed (and often owned) by ex BBC types so the statist culture is all pervading.

Not only that - but "friends&family" links between BBC programme commisioners and indie companies introduces a strong stench of corruption into the mix.

That's what you get when you swamp an entire industry with 4 billion of unaccountable public money.

what pisses me off the most is that the politicians dont want to clear up there own mess or even admit it is theres. instead the the voter is to be deemed as having some sort of mental disorder if they dont like what what they are told to like .

its not so much the triumph of the political class more the failiure of democracy to represent its people.

as for clegg i do hope he wants to put his changes to an referendum , so that my vote acts like a silver bullit/zombie eliminator. yes, I agree with your conclusions about the twisted interpretation of events it tried to sell us.

Powell's apparent name-calling in the speech was the only aspect of it that struck me as in any way off-mark or unnecessary, or inappropriate to the present situation (not bad for a 40 year old speech).

The career politicians interviewed who vilified this "conviction politician" (who shamefully spoke from the gut, according to one Race hustler) were unashamed of their treachery. One hopes that a major change of regime will occur soon enough not only to halt the tide, but also to apply due process to those who worked against the nation and reward them accordingly.

That 'White' TV prog concerning Enoch Powell was interesting. The interest was that the BBC broadcast it.

Recently we have seen Brown following in the footsteps of Blair in deciding that the 'multi-cultural' society is no-longer to be Labour Party credo, so what happens? Why, we get a TV prog whose drift was that Powell had a good analysis of matters after all.

I suppose the spectre of the Holocaust was still strong in the mid '60s - hence the opposition to the tone of Powell's evidently carefully chosen words.

Indeed I am suprised that no mention was made of Powell, as Health Minister in the early 1960s, ENCOURAGING people from the Commonwealth to come to the UK to work in the NHS.

Ironically then, it would seem that Powell's own actions were a significant cause of the problem that he later described in his speech.

The other elephants-in-room in that programme were:
1) the effect of the influx of people from the EU;
2) the numbers here ostensibly for political asylum.

Perhpas these elephants were still too sensitive to mention?

M Perosn of no fixed political abode said...

And which government minister was it that thought up the wizzard scheme to import tens of thousands of Commonwealth workers in order to artificially depress the wages of the indigenous workforce?

Powell oversaw the employment of a large number of Commonwealth immigrants by the (at the time) understaffed National Health Service. Prior to this, many non-white immigrants who held full rights of citizenship in Britain were obliged to take the jobs that no one else wanted such as street cleaning, often paid considerably less than the whites.

This just goes to show that he was not the racist characterised by the phony, baloney "liberal" Left and it is odd how the BBC never mentioned THIS in their bloody programme, isn't it?

Senator Stuart Syvret of Jersey is not keen on the local BBC. Last Saturday several hundred people gathered to mark their disapproval of the Jersey government's handling of the child abuse complaints over the years. The BBC interviewed demonstration's organizer; Syvret wrote:

"I listened to a BBC Jersey interview with the organiser of the event. When I heard of the up-coming interview in the news at the head of the program, it was with weary resignation I predicted entirely how the conversation would go.

Sure enough – the interviewer exhibited near-zero interest in the victims, the suffering – and how public administration in Jersey can have failed so catastrophically. Instead, the young man who was organising the event had to spend 90% of the interview dealing with cretinous assertions to the effect that by facilitating a public show of solidarity with the survivors – he was being “political”. As though this were some kind of crime.

It was – as is 95% of BBC Jersey out-put – as though they had been handed a crib-sheet by a Jersey establishment spin-doctor which they were enthusiastically regurgitating.

Actually – let’s face it – they probably were."

Syvret tends to be angry with everyone, which is understandable considering he was hounded out of his job and accused of being a fantasist. Still, the BBC gave better coverage in the UK to the Jersey protest than it did to the Strasbourg protest against the Lisbon Treaty (which isn't saying much). Syvret finds himself in an unusually bad position; the local media amounts to the BBC and a paper which is financially connected to the ruling faction, so abuse victims on Jersey always stood very little chance of getting their story out. It is a small island; the people a victim may wish to complain about are the ones who may be making serious decisions about your job, your children and they can affect your social standing.

However, Syvret underestimates the likely panic in Jersey governmental circles that the child abuse scandal could be used as an excuse for the UK to annex (don't mention the anschluss) the island.

Jersey bankers already handed over sample records on demand to the UK government, regardless of whether there was any grounds for suspicion of money laundering or criminal tax evasion (as opposed to lawful tax avoidance). The only concession being that, unlike in the UK, the account holders were warned that the data had been abstracted.

Ironically, because of the hypothetical, just-possible links between abuse cases over the last 30 years, the Jersey government would be better advised to get everything in the open as quickly as possible. That way, if anything stinky has gone on in the UK, the UK government will be obliged to get on with clearing that up instead of casting hungry eyes over Jersey's finance industry.

Senator Frank Walker may not be the ogre suggested by Senator Syvret, but he is a PR disaster for the island's economy, a dinosaur trying to use bad-news suppression techniques and rubbishing of critics, which worked ten years ago but are not suitable now.
