Sunday Sleaze Special : Tom Watson

Guido wondered why Labour's attack-puppy, Tom Watson MP, was uncharacteristically silent on the scandal of Tory MP Derek Conway employing three family members at public expense. Tom has been strangely silent on sleaze altogether, Watson never usually misses a chance to attack, so why the reticence?

Could it be because the Watson family is paid some £300,000-a-year by the taxpayer? A new all-time record for snouts-in-the-trough.

Last year Watson pocketed his £60,000 salary and his parliamentary expenses amounted to £150,000-plus – bringing his total package to £211,000 - making him the 73rd highest claiming MP out of 646 MPs. Quite an achievement for an MP not claiming for travel to and from Scotland. He of course employs his wife Siobhan at the public's expense, his brother, Dan, is constituency director to Euro MP Michael Cashman, Dan Watson's wife, Joanna, has no fewer than three jobs. Like her husband, she also works for Mr Cashman and for Wolverhampton Labour MP Pat McFadden, yet still finds time to be a Labour councillor in Sandwell. Amy Watson, cousin of Tom and Dan, works for Birmingham Northfield Labour MP Richard Burden. The West Midlands constituency Labour Party offices are packed with Watsons...

The total annual cost to the taxpayer of the Watson family's five not-so-little piggies is in excess of £300,000. Far more than the disgraced Derek Conway fiddled...

Will we hear outraged squeals from the labour Benches about this latest scandal? Of course not!

I wonder how many other little jobs have fallen the way of the Watsons? Directorships of charities, commissions, etc? For that is the way of West Midlands Labour Party.

Greed is their god, corruption their hobby.

Meanwhile....Labour has resumed a secret courtship of influential donors before new funding rules are introduced to cover the party from future sleaze allegations, The Times has learnt. Labour fears being left behind by the Tories in building up their war chest to fund the next general election. Labour, now £20 million in debt, generated only £580,000 from individual donors in the last quarter of last year, while Tory fundraisers brought in £9.8 million over the same period.

Jon "sleaze" Mendelsohn, Mr Brown’s leading fundraiser, is inviting small businessmen as potential donors to a series of private dinners to mingle with Cabinet ministers. They have been told that they could help to shape the next Labour manifesto.

Mr Mendelsohn is one of a number of people who face police questions [prison if justice is to be done!] over donations totalling £600,000 by a property developer that were made through third parties in apparent breach of the law.

o/t Dunblane theorists may care to note there is a link between allegations of misdoings in Islington chilren's homes and the Jersey investigation. Eileen Fairweather has pulled together files from the past 15 years and suggests that she may have missed the significance of previous interviews.

today I can reveal for the first time the links between the abuse I uncovered at care homes in Islington, North London, and the horrifying discoveries on Jersey.
I have never before written that 14-year-old Jason Swift, killed in 1985 by a paedophile gang, is believed to have lived in Islington council's Conewood Street home. Two sources claimed this when I investigated Islington's 12 care homes for The Mail on Sunday's sister paper, the London Evening Standard, in the early Nineties. But hundreds of children's files mysteriously disappeared in Islington and, without documentation, this was not evidence enough.

We did, however, prove that every home included staff who were paedophiles, child pornographers or pimps. Concerned police secretly confirmed that several Islington workers were believed "networkers", major operators in the supply of children for abuse and pornography. Some of these were from the Channel Islands or regularly took Islington children there on unofficial visits. In light of the grisly discoveries at Haut de la Garenne, the link now seems significant, but at the time we were so overwhelmed by abuse allegations nearer home that this connection never emerged. What we did report prompted the sort of vehement official denials that have come to characterise child abuse claims. Margaret Hodge, then council leader, denounced us as Right-wing "gutter journalists" who supposedly bribed children to lie.

GB has been looking hungrily at Jersey for some time. Two years ago diplomatic feathers were ruffled when the States were told to treat the then-DCA as their contact point, ending the convention of them getting advice direct from the Privy Council and hence the Crown. The Treasury has taken advice from John Christensen, previously an economic advisor to the States of Jersey, but he seems to have fallen out with them dramatically in 1998 and decamped, and now advises against the schemes he previously set up. Christensen writes papers denouncing low-tax regimes, appears for Tax Justice Network (www.taxjustice.net) and collaborates with Richard Murphy of the website www.taxresearch.org.uk. Last September, Murphy and Christensen fell out with the dampish-centrist Senator Stuart Syvret, who has been a key figure in getting the scandal in the open - for which he was sacked as a minister.

Murphy accused Syvret of needing the services of a mental-health practitioner after they quarrelled on a tax theory, and argued that Syvret was making unbelievable and false accusations all round. Syvret looks like he's being proved correct, Murphy has not apologised, Christensen must be sweating because as a Jersey national and having worked in Jersey for the crucial years and in the circles which Syvret has criticised, the question will inevitably be asked: 'did you hear anything, John?.' To which the traditional reply is: 'goodness me no'.

It would suit GB at the moment if he could effectively occupy Jersey, but it is a delicate subject considering the history of the island. Anyway, invasion of another sovereign state would not be tactful at the moment. The child abuse scandal could provide an excuse for further UK supervision, but it could also go the other way; if it can be demonstrated that someone like Margaret Hodge was definitely covering-up (it is one thing to suspect it, quite another to prove it) then the Jersey scandal might take NuLab with it. If GB moves against Jersey now, it may be argued that he too has a motive for trying to stifle the investigation, which, against previous experience, really does seem to be happening properly.

I think, and I hope some do also that this is all getting a bit silly.

We are at this very moment facing the almost entire demise of our own representative democracy.

Corruption has always been bad in parliament but this is stupid.

When things get very silly indeed my wholly justifiable sense of paranoia starts tapping me on the shoulder.

How much longer is this going to be allowed to go on before ordinary people or the obviously fascist BBC start saying.

"Well if the buggers are this corrupt maybe its just as well we are really being controlled by the CFR the Bilderburger's along with other far more powerful covert organizations and their love child's the EU and UN?"

Not long as far as I can see. In two years time I believe virtually none of us here will give a damn anymore. Which is very likely why all this bullshit is coming out now, and the buggers doing it seriously don't give a sod about the long term damage they are doing. Because there is no long term future for our parliamentary democracy.

They are just taking all they can while the going is good and laughing all the way to the Leeds, at the people. I am beginning not to blame them myself. They voted for them did they not?

If David Cameron is a true conservative (note the small ‘c’) then his objective should be to ensure politicians concentrate on long-term strategic planning, which is what is currently missing from Government. Gordon Brown’s approach to interest rates was, ironically, the correct one and should be applied across all the spending departments: provide the professionals with clear goals - in the case of the Bank, keeping inflation below 2% - and let them get on with it. Ministers, who are essentially amateurs, should act as non-executive board members, providing strategic guidance and asking the tough questions, as opposed to being involved in day-to-day management. The job of MPs is then to scrutinise the Government’s strategic direction.

It will involve hiring professional business managers to run the spending departments. Because fewer politicians will be required, the funding for this can come from halving the number of Ministers and in a reduction by a third in the number of MPs. It will also have the beneficial effect of removing snouts from the trough, which will help re-build confidence in politics.

I hope Cameron has the necessary courage.

It was only a no brainer for those with no brain. O should I say people like yourself.

Anyway what is so desperately wrong exactly with accepting a small complimentary for asking questions in parliament anyway. In my opinion MPs should be allowed to do such a thing register it and pay taxes on it, just like everyone else does.

To say that this sort of thing has been going on with Trades Unions and Labour MPs since the Labour Party was invented is a simple truism to say the least.

Neil received no money. There is no evidence of there being any money changing hands at all, not now or at anytime.

Unsworth & 45Govt: much as I hope the links help, it should be made clear that the research has been done by Eileen Fairweather and many others. The material in italics is from her article for the MoS, an organ despised by the social work fraternity. Sorry - poor punctuation.

You think it's possible she has actually been a facilitator for these paedos?

No. Hodge is a dim, weak person who chose to believe any amount of rubbish put in front of her, and continues to do so. She's a patsy, not a player. There is nothing unusual about that; it is very much the standard pattern. Hodge has just been able to take it to stupid lengths because she has been in powerful positions e.g. letting social workers review their own files to see if they had acted properly in various disputed cases where social workers say parents/carers have harmed children, but the people involved disagree. Some of those accused people will be liars, but then so are some of the social workers, but we don't know which ones. Without independent review, how will the deadlock ever be broken?

To emphasize - this is nothing unusual about the failure to spot a wrong'un. What typically happens, though, is that when good evidence for scepticism arises, it is discounted because the person is by then enmeshed in the church/school/neighbourhood clubs and it seems churlish to question their motives. Abusive officials can be good at portraying themselves as maligned altruists. If their work is technical, the journalists look at the distraught complainants - who are often incoherent and fearful of being named - and compare them with the calm, qualified officials. Who would you believe?

What Hodge is guilty of is a deliberate series of actions to cover up rather than to investigate massive systemic failures. Naturally she moved on fairly swiftly, but it's dyed in the wool stuff and she has been equally evasive over other matters since then. I don't believe she was stupid or duped, I think she knew but was too busy protecting herself. So she is a player - but in a slightly different game to that of her underlings.

But if does not in anyway mean he was guilty either.

But he still lost his very safe seat and has had his name go down in British political history for being the person largely responsible for the 1997 Labour landslide.

However I personally have read enough on this case to say that Neil Hamilton was indeed totally innocent as charged.

I can NOT and certainly will not try to answer for the mans whole political life.

He WAS a politician after all, and as far as I am concerned that alone makes him a crook just for being one. But thats not the point at all.

He was set up in a conspiracy with one of this countries leading news papers (The Guardian) an international violent ganster of world fame ( Mo Fayad,) and people inside or indeed running our own state broadcaster. ( The BB fucking C. )

Which is far more of a MASSIVE story then the Hamilton, Hain, and all of the rest of our resent parliamentary corruption scams rolled into one with cart loads of knobs on.

A simply MASSIVE story that funny enough the BBC will not even try to think about investigating. In spite of or far more likely because of the fact.

That it could very well blow the lid off this countries entire political system, along with our present government. Which the BBC helps so much to put in place, in far more ways then just the Hamilton CONSPIRACY.

At least we are agreed on that one.

A cunt, in my b bla bla bla...insert your usual Labour cock sucking supporting shite from their main cock sucking cunt of a supporter on here....

Hmmmm, a real nerve been touched there, so we are agreed that you are a cunt, and further agreed that you have made a total cunt of yourself by spouting shite that you have failed to back up, and been shown to be a cunt too over it...even Neil Hamilton, we are all agreed, wasn't as bad as that fat useless fucking cretin Watson.

You must really try harder Elsby you cunt, because you now just look like a petualnt fucker that's been found out as a cunt...which is indeed the case.

Cunt.

"So you're really just having a go at gainfully employed people here Guido..."

How do you know these people were/are employed 'gainfully', or even how they became 'employed' in the first place?

"Fraud it ain't"

We'll take that as your personal assurance then, shall we? No doubt you've got full information about these curious coincidences and can vouch for the fact that these people were undoubtedly fairly recruited and were the ideal candidates for the jobs. Now would you like to post their job descriptions for us all to see, and perhaps their CVs?

Moron.

Labour's is very hot on equal opps. let's not only see the job specs and CV's, let's see the equal opportunities monitoring forms.

Transparency, see.

Shotgun: There are known cunts, and there are unknown cunts within the Conservative Party.
There are also unknown, known cunts and known, unknown cunts within the Conservative Party.
Where I feel the public is cheated, is where known, known cunts try to pass themselves off as unknown, unknown cunts, when we all know who they are true cunts of the highest order.

Shotgun. You are a known cunt who thinks he's an unknown cunt. You have to believe me, that you are a cunt. Not a first class cunt, I concede, but a cunt of the slightly higher than second class cunt.
This makes you either a docile cunt, a total cunt, a genuine cunt, dozy cunt, or just the bog standard simple cunt. You choose, it's your Party.
We over here are just being helpful, that's all (that's socialism for you).

NB. The 'trousering' of a 'Neil' doesn't always give you the right to claim crooked cunt. But after advice, I'm reliably informed that 'Oathing' the wife and kids elevates one to a first class cunt (of the highest order).
The 'I'll show you fucking power' approach (a Jeffrey),is awarded just the plain old dumb cunt.

Guido - main man - have you thought about looking into another little NuLab dynasty doing fairly well cash and power wise? "The Kennedys" No not those Kennedys but Roy and Alicia - the BIG noises at NuLab HQ. He Finance CoOrdinator for the Party and she Deputy General Secretary - remember the past corrupt one Peter Watt who didn't know about all those donations...........
Now Roy is bagging a prize seat on the E Midlands Euro list of candidates - no surprise really he's fav as he was Regional Director for E Mids Labour Party.
And if you thought Tom Watson was a big chap wait till you get sight of Mr and Mrs K!

And do not forget to keep an eye on Phil Davis late and unlamented Labour leader of Telford and Wrekin Council. He collects 'jobs' in the West Midlands (charities, quangos and the like) like kids used to collect cigarette cards.)
