Robbie at 10.02. Absolute bollocks. The society statement has been misquoted almost as much as "Rivers of Blood". As a selfish woman she certainly took very good care of her own brood, whilst at the same time making greed a virtue. Her government was responsible for the acceleration of the breakdown of the social equilibrium leading to the chaos we see daily. The Belgrano incident alone should be enough for Lucifer to whip the stokers to a frenzy.
What notareargunner said. Mrs T was wrong, wrong, wrong on crucial matters but it was not her who let this disastrous socialist government in. She was never given the chance she had earned for the times she had been right, to have the matter out with the public in a general election.
Ten years of socialist re-education and even some of the instinctively conservative and libertarian readers have to have the cartoon explained to them. At this rate, somebody will declare a Fatwah on Guido and he'll have to wear a blonde wig and go on holiday with Salman Rushdie for the rest of his life.

What total bullshit - selfish??? Never a finger pointed at HER over expenses, second homes, paying her children, dodgy travel, and what mother doesn't look after her own brood, deserving or not? In one way she was selfish, she selfishly wanted the best for her country, saved it from the depradations of the last lot of brain-dead socialist scum, and gave us back our pride. There was no "social equilibrium" as you so quaintly call it then; what there was were the dead unburied, a three day week, garbage uncollected, manufacturing run by communist fellow travellers who gave us the indutrial miracles of the age such as the Allegro, and the cunts, Wilson, Callaghan, and that filthy cottaging cunt Heath. Not just yet anyway.
Thatcherites, among whom there are few Polish plumbers, should rejoice at this cartoon, as should all who loath the batallions of shit-eating, sewer-dwelling, parasite hacks ranged against us.
The need is not for over-sensitivity, prickly preciousness; the need is for heavy duty UpAgainstTheWallMotherfuckerism.
Its not, for sure, a funny cartoon, but we live in humourless presbyterian times, policed, harangued and barracked by Stalinist heathen bastards, may God smite them up the arse, each and every one, unto their portion, with an broken bottle.
In the last few weeks I've fallen out with someone who once appeared to be a friend over this issue.
Apparently, Mrs T was not perfect, e.g. it is possible to disagree with some of her actions.
And for that reason, it is okay to be snide about her voice, her skin, her hair, as well as her politics, her morality, her religious beliefs.
Indeed, apparently it is even okay to rejoice at the death of her dearly-loved husband, to look forward to her death, and indeed to plan parties in anticipation of her demise. And all this, when she is a woman clearly capable of reading the papers, and seeing what we write about her, and when her children and grandchildren are capable of seeing this too.
Meanwhile, we are told that since some extremely intelligent, worthwhile people had doubts about her in the mid 1980s, when she was in her pomp [sic], all this hatred, in 2008, is perfectly all right, and that we should not object in any way to the people - some of them who hardly remember even the 1990s - who profess to hate her today.
My own dream, actually, is that we should have an annual holiday in memory of the day of her actual death, when it occurs, on which it is considered appropriate for everyone to go out onto the streets and scratch out the eyes of everyone who disagrees with our own position on the 'Thatcher: to dance or not to dance' debate.
Why? Because politics, today, could do with some clarity, and in 2008, I cannot think of a question that would sort out the sheep from the goats with such rational accuracy.
Rich and Mark have always been toxically unfunny and hideously drawn, the faces unrecognisable. This week's effort is the feeblest yet. Time to send them on their way.
Why not have a readers' cartoon competition? To avoid being deluged with picture files, make people put their drawings on their own web ages and merely send you the URL. If anything received is actually funny, put it on your blog. If not, don't. No one reads this blog for its cartoons anyway.
I think that you should put us all out of our misery and explain exactly who is the butt of this visual joke (no love lost between Thatcher and a lot of 'Jeffs').
Funny, there was me thinking that Arthur "shove it onto expenses" Scargill and the hordes of his fellow scumsucking TUC bastards were the ones who totally destroyed British industry, and that way before Thatcher won the 79 election,
I must adjust my bigoted Tory sunglasses to reflect the beautious rewritten history of the UK according to Saint Tony de Connaught and his stern but noble squire Gordon.
It was the socialist governments of the 40's 50's 60's and 70's, Labour and Conservative, that gave us the Sex Pistols and alike, not The Sainted Lady.
This country was fucked then. But I am sad to say, not as completely fucked beyond belief, as it is now.
A fact that anyone who was alive and paying attention back then, could not sensibly disagree. For no other reason then that the ordinary British people as a whole, had a whole lot more about then, then they do now. Like for example the ability to work hard, common social cohesion, save a bit of cash if they were lucky, read and write to a reasonable standard.
Therefore to a largish extent resist The BBC's divisively evil, establishment corrupted propaganda, from completely destroying their free minds, and normal family life.
The bad old days are here again even BIGGER TIME. I am just happy that I am not 16 again. Otherwise I would be seriously considering opting for the Bridge End 'solution'.
We are about to see a brake down of normal human existence and above all HOPE. That will make Syd's and Johny's protestations look more like an episode of The Osmonds.
Sleep on that, if you can, parents of our youth.
If you personally EVER voted for this or any other socialist lying bullshit in the past. Then you should be holding your heads in shame, for what YOU have allowed to happen yet again.
Mrs Thatcher looked after her children's future freedom and liberty (thats us BTW). Which is far more then anyone will say about YOU, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, or any other Labour MP's, however much of our money they have lavished on their soon to be dis-functionally useless, products.
I hope that your off spring will soon be hanging from The Bridge of Despair like socialism persuaded many in my generation so to do. That even before the IMF and the rest of the international banking system, had gathered their many pounds of flesh.
Atlas shrugged, but then considered he should have shrugged more often , much harder, and far sooner. Or just dropped the whole, clearly repetitively self destructive, pile of shit, into the dark depths of time and space, 48 years ago.
45 Govnt, Have you calmed down yet? As I have had no real quarrel with your goodself, I am somewhat mystified by your comment. I only tell cunts to fuck off and I usually use lower case because it's easier. So sue me. ps. 'fraid I'm unable to accept your unkind invitation and is it possible to be boring and offensive at the same time? that would be quite a feat, eh?
Well 45govt that was a nasty little outburst, let’s hope your mummy doesn’t see it else it will be early to bed for you. I suggest you see if you can take a day off from your Hitler youth group and check out some anger therapy classes. In time who knows you might even learn how to string together three or four sentences without the use of your nasty little expletives.
My dear fellow, I'm so sorry you have taken umbrage, wouldn't have had it happen for the world. A word of advice, if you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen. This is a place of robust views, and if you don't want to be called a cunt, don't write like one.
45govt ,, you wear your IQ so proudly like some badge of honour. However I can express myself perfectly well without having to resort to profanity but if that’s what makes you feel big, please feel free to carry on :-) The Thatcher/Reagan gun ho years were as equally abhorrent as the previous labour years of misrule which ended so miserably for this country. Methinks you mistake me for some socialist trouble maker; I am sitondafence and hate all corrupt politicians with equal contempt, Thatcher started as leader very well but then believing all the rubbish printed about herself in the dead tree press began on ideological crusades that her heir apparent, Blair had to finish. Thatcher was no better than the rest and worse than most, she deserves no special place in history.
anonpollster 10.34, don't be silly, you can't even think up a name to post with you spastic. anon 9.18 am, spiteful comments at 9.18 am. you sound like a right cunt. what's next on your agenda, beat the wife?
It's not the quality of your expression I take issue with, but the content. When I use foul language to berate you I do it because you have expressed a foul opinion which offends me, and which is not only total bollocks, but in six lines contrives to call Mrs Thatcher selfish, greedy, the cause of the breakdown of society, and the murderess of poor innocent enemy combatants. I happen to remember Mrs Thatcher with affection and gratitude, despite all her faults which were many but none that you listed, for pulling my country out of a seemingly irreversible decline when no-one else was man enough to do it. You may think MY opinions to be offensive, and if so feel free to tell me so, I can stand it, and as it happens I have often been in agreement with your previous comments. The one referred to here is however that of an ignorant cad, a heel and a bounder, a veritable scoundrel and blackguard, a swine, rotter, and what else, oh, yes an utter cunt. Sorry, just the way it is, or you are.
45govt ,,Oh I don’t think your opinions are offensive, they are your opinions to which are entitled and within our democracy, I will defend your entitlement to having them to the hilt. However I do have issue with your bullying obnoxious manner to anyone within this forum having a differing view and your phrase of if it’s too hot in the kitchen blah blah blah, is no excuse for your caveman attitude.
You're just saying that because I'm a penguin. You should take the trouble to get to know me, before exhibiting such prejudice against penguins, we may have more in common than you realize. Don't pick on a penguin. It's not big.

45 Govnt,
Have you calmed down yet?

"Thickasshit ..... let me invite you to fuck off, you gratuitously offensive boring cunt."
I think that the majority of us second that.
sitondafence
My dear fellow, I'm so sorry you have taken umbrage, wouldn't have had it happen for the world.
A word of advice, if you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen. This is a place of robust views, and if you don't want to be called a cunt, don't write like one.

Not even if were wearing a shortie nighty and no knickers?
And let you sip my coco?

1st sentence: agreed. 2nd sentence: that's where I have to disagree with you pete.
I say melt her down, recycle her into a battleship and then moor the old supertanker just outside Falklands territorial waters.
Penguin, what a cuntish thing to say. You are an ignorant twat.

...or even better: just inside argentinian waters!
Thick as Shit said...is it possible to be boring and offensive at the same time?
that would be quite a feat, eh?
You achieve it.
Thatcher was no better than the rest and worse than most, she deserves no special place in history.
anonpollster 10.34,
don't be silly, you can't even think up a name to post with you spastic.
anon 9.18 am,
spiteful comments at 9.18 am. you sound like a right cunt.
what's next on your agenda, beat the wife?

I say melt her down, recycle her into a battleship and then moor the old supertanker just outside Falklands territorial waters.
Maggie must be laughing fit to bust with the news that the Falklands is finally about to commence production drilling.
Already the Argentinians are starting to scream about how we've nicked their oil with the 200 mile exclusion zone still in force.

My! We DID get out of bed the wrong side this morning, didn't we? I think one should go brush one's teeth again, dear
and one's tongue.

Never mind what position she's in, I know exactly what her intentions are and I want to put my torpedo in her right now!!!
Blair, Brown or Thatcher, I loath them equally. I have a bottle of Krug on hand to open whichever one goes first.
