I find the Cartoon quite fitting. You could sense the anticipation of running their long prepared obituries for Mrs T, on both BBC 24 and Sky News. There was a distinct air of disappointment from their news desks when they found she was fit and well.

My opinion about Thatcher was that she finally went off her trolly concerning the Poll Tax - and this was used by the EU wets as a way of pushing her out of the pram.

In the last few weeks I've fallen out with someone who once appeared to be a friend over this issue.
Apparently, Mrs T was not perfect, e.g. it is possible to disagree with some of her actions.
And for that reason, it is okay to be snide about her voice, her skin, her hair, as well as her politics, her morality, her religious beliefs.
Indeed, apparently it is even okay to rejoice at the death of her dearly-loved husband, to look forward to her death, and indeed to plan parties in anticipation of her demise. And all this, when she is a woman clearly capable of reading the papers, and seeing what we write about her, and when her children and grandchildren are capable of seeing this too.
Meanwhile, we are told that since some extremely intelligent, worthwhile people had doubts about her in the mid 1980s, when she was in her pomp [sic], all this hatred, in 2008, is perfectly all right, and that we should not object in any way to the people - some of them who hardly remember even the 1990s - who profess to hate her today.
My own dream, actually, is that we should have an annual holiday in memory of the day of her actual death, when it occurs, on which it is considered appropriate for everyone to go out onto the streets and scratch out the eyes of everyone who disagrees with our own position on the 'Thatcher: to dance or not to dance' debate.
Why? Because politics, today, could do with some clarity, and in 2008, I cannot think of a question that would sort out the sheep from the goats with such rational accuracy.
Rich and Mark have always been toxically unfunny and hideously drawn, the faces unrecognisable. This week's effort is the feeblest yet. Time to send them on their way.
Why not have a readers' cartoon competition? To avoid being deluged with picture files, make people put their drawings on their own web ages and merely send you the URL. If anything received is actually funny, put it on your blog. If not, don't. No one reads this blog for its cartoons anyway.

It was the socialist governments of the 40's 50's 60's and 70's, Labour and Conservative, that gave us the Sex Pistols and alike, not The Sainted Lady.
