Off topic somewhat, but it is budget season:

I see that Darling is trying to outdo Purnell in who can get the biggest cheer for kicking the sick.

I find it ironic that a quick banker's report on such a medical matter can be poised to screw-up millions of lives of the ill.

So much for Brown's 'moral compass'; evidently it does not point to treating the infirm decently, it just points to messing-up our economy.

It is the worst political slot in the whole of the execrable BBC output. Still, give Mrs Dale a chance to get out of her cardi and into a suit. Maybe some tory selection committee will be watching and yell: Mrs Dale's the girl for us!! And maybe not.

Indeed, Purnell has the gas chamber plans at the ready.
the DHSS will be shaving the disabled heads and pulling out any gold filling but as they have destroyed the NHS they are not to expectant on the fillings, in fact they are not certain they will find many teath at all in those who have to rely on the NHS.
Still what they do get the banker Dr Josef mengele the Nazi's Auschwitz Angel of Death. feels he will be able to make a profit from recycling the glasses and frames.
he even has his pals to contract out the work for a small backhander, the lampshade companys are greasing his pals as we speak.

the Labour party will make a broadcast on the propaganda wing the BBC about how this is to be celebrated as the ultimate in recycling and will save the planet from global warming.

disbled childen have been the first to suffer as their specialist schools have been closing down en mass for several years now, still lets hope Labour give the poor souls a pain free death after their long term victimisation by the fascist Labour party and its BBC propaganda wing.

Easy victims, first they came for the disabled -

The disabled have no special hate/thought crime laws that will throw you in jail for up to 7 years for even an utterence over the phone. like the ethnic minorities or the homosexuals therefore the goverment are free to villify them with hate speech at every chance, with the BBC gleefully joining in to give the disabled a good kicking!

Hitler would be so proud.

The jews and disabled of the Nazi's Auschwitz death camp wept.

6.29 Whilst I have great sympathy for the genuinely disabled and agree they should be protected the fact is that two thirds or more of those claiming invalidity benefit have nothing wrong with them and are just part of a huge scam which is costing taxpayers billions of pounds a year.

Whether the liars and incompetents in the Labour government do anything about this scandal remains to be seen. I suspect it is more hot air from Brown but with the public accounts approaching meltdown he needs every penny he can get.

More tax increases anyone?

Anonymous said...

OT.

Ystdys Evening Standard had a small piece about how Darling has increased penalties on Tax payments.

An innocent mistake now costs a 30 % fine.

A deliberate error now costs a 70% fine, up from 10%.

So while the Westminster pigs fiddle every known expense, with absolutely no fear of punishment, the serfs are gonna be hit with 30% fines, for even an honest mistake on a tax form.

Eat your heart out Marie Antoinette, you were just a begginer.

Bit more info re 'turbulence'.

Mortgage lenders are reining in lending at a rate of knots! Abbey (and indeed most lenders) don't want to lend over 90%. Self cert is getting restricted to 75%/80% although one or two still go above it.

Some of the smaller building societies are getting massacred. Skipton - nothing over 75% LTV
Earl Shilton - nothing over 50% LTV!

This is just the start - the housing market will be in meltdown by June. No lending, no buyers, falling prices!

I have worked dealing with social security benefits for 20 years (don't worry today is my last day!)

Incapacity Benefit is nothing more than an easy way to hide the real extent of the unemplyoment problem.

There are about 5 million people of working age receiving social security benefits. The figures from the Government are a dishonest scam - nothing more nothing less.

Not even the tories fiddled the figures like this Government has!

Every day I seefit healthy people - who complain of a 'back ache' or being depressed and they are signed onto Incapacity Benefit so they don't show up on the unemployment figures.

He also has a Brown sort of marriage; Poor old biddy locked away in the attic, brought out for elections, just to show that Alex is normally married. To a lady old enough to be his Ma. RIpped off by taxman said...

Anon 10:46, you want rip-offs?

Last year I paid my tax nice and early (Jan 27 or thereabouts) by internet but got clobbered £100 for late payment. Reason - the banks take four days to process the payment. The greedy fuckers hold onto it, earning them interest, even though it's all electronic and could happen in microseconds if they wanted it to.

Compare with sending a cheque which arrives on Jan 31. They're happy. But they won't get their grasping paws on the cash until Sharon has done her nails, adjusted her hair extensions and decided to send it off, after which it has to go through the full cheque clearing system.

In other words, they got my money probably a week earlier than if I'd send a cheque yet the bastards still fined me. Bastards. Fucking bastards.

I also worked for the DHSS and I can tell you for a fact that the majority of the people were genuine, they had to see an independant goverment appointed doctor to qualify, as well as their GP and many are refused, the purpose of the doctor was not to put people on IB but to get them off.

still as you are not a mental illness and back specialist unlike the doctors and specialists the goverment used to remove false claiments your `insight` is rather irelevant and therefore your motive supicious. considering the average person in the DHSS would have no direct contact with such people.

Also what you have failed to note is that a huge number of sick people were on unemployment benefit during the time the Tories were in power when they should have been on IB,

The goverment changed the standard benefits system many years ago so that after 6 months benefits were stopped. Those who were sick then had no choice but to claim what they were entitled to or go on the streets, pushing up costs not lowering them.

around this time `care in the community` came into play, pushing people out of hospitals and into the comunity and onto IB, remember 1 in 4 suffers from a mental illness at one point or another,
though judging from your comments you don`t appear to care. With some communities suffering as much as double this rate.

hence the figures went up.

Also during this period there was a massive influx of immigration, including people with aids, TB etc
and some communities had serious levels of disabled children due to inbreeding. it all contributed to the numbers rising.

This has nothing to do with Labour fixing the figures but everything to do with Labour getting tough on the unemployed as the Conservatives asked for and got, yet still ignore this fact.

certainly there are frauds, no system is 100% but many here have been reading the Sun and the daily mail too much and are too quick to kick those who are already down.

no suprise it is the Tories, and now Labour are joining in.

heaven forbid someone suffering a mental breakdown with some of you cunts around.

@ anon 2:08: So you are seriously trying to tell us that the 2.7million people on disability benefit (10% of the working population) are so seriously ill they can't get a job stacking shelves in ASDA or in telesales?

You are a fucking liar mate. And the people that are claiming disability benefit are a fucking disgrace to the many people that have real disabilities. If David Blunkett can hold down a £120,000 a year job when he's blind, and Alistair Darling a £120,000 a year job without a spine and Ed Balls a £120,000 a year job without a brain then surely someone feeling a bit peaky can get a job at B&Q.

Fuck off and take your daft leftie ideas with you. You are a disgrace to the human race.

I agree with your post. I suspect that if some of the scorning ones were suddenly to find that 'out of a blue sky' something happens which triggers real depression - and it IS a state of mind from which you cannot just 'pull yourself together' - then they would not be so judgmental.

You are correct in that there is a government organised medical to pass - it's not just your local GP.

Dealing with the sick is not a forte of the Tories - "tough love" is just code for 'kick them in the face'. It seems that the Labour party (the party of the people - what a travesty of a description) has joined them.

Curiously enough Vince Cable told the truth about this nasty aspect of the two main front benches. Pity he did not stand instead of disaster Clegg.

Being so utterly pathetic you can't even hold down the simplest of jobs is enough to make anyone depressed. Putting such people on disability benefit is the worse thing you could do.

convenient lie said...

The reason we have so many people on IB is because it has suited everyone involved - politicians (Conservative & Labour) employers and former employees alike.

We can understand why politicians want to use it, to hide the real number of economically inactive people in society.

Employers - yes - back in the days of over-funded company pension funds, early retirement due to sickness was a useful way of achieving "headcount reductions" without it hitting that year's P&L account as a redundancy cost.

Former employees - yes - there is a little more dignity being "on the sick" than "on the dole" and the benefits have tended to be slightly higher.

I didn't realise how all of this worked until a Doctor, who has carried out various studies for the DSS told me.

His best estimate was that there were between 1.5 and 2 million people who could go back to doing some sort of work (though maybe not what they had been doing before.) He also condemned the view that once someone was in receipt of IB that they should be on it for evermore.

bit more turbulence for our pilot Mr Darling wonder what he will do...oh yeah put taxes up what a fuckwit.

thick as thieves said...

yeah, yeah we know all that stuff.
there are people who should work but who claim benefits instead.
raise the taxable allowance for the first three years of their new employment increasing year on year. That would sort the wheat from the chaff and we would then have enough resources to be able to see exactly which ones are just plain workshy. problem solved.
employment benefits pale into insignificance compared to the real problem child, housing benefit. probably the reason this one never gets discussed is because the landlords don't want the subject to be raised. and it hides the government's failed housing policy with taxpayers' cash.
housing benfit is, after tax credits, the most defrauded and generally pilfered and abused benefit this government administrates.
never mind playing the new labour blame game. it isn't unemployed people who are the real problem. in a sense they are a product of new labour policy. it is new labour party policies that are to blame for the very poor position this country is currently in.

Brilliant observation! And a national disgrace that these heros' actions above and beyond the call of duty have not been duly recognised by someone down at the local Incapacity Benefit Assessment Centre where they made their claims.

Further observation:

Gather all IB claimants together at the Park Lane end of Hyde Park, place a suitcase containing £120000 on the Diana memorial. Watch as the multitude of cripples turn crutchless wonders before your very eyes, losing their welfare supports and learning to stand on their own two feet (if they've got any).
