Get Guido's Headlines Texted to Your Phone for Free
The feedback on Guido's headline to SMS text message service has been universally good. Particularly since it is totally free...
The service really comes into its own when there is fast breaking news. The free service texts a message containing the headline, followed by a clickable link which (on web-enabled phones) will take you directly to the full blog story. Subscribe here.

The Tuscan recalls that in your previous anouncement of this service, you qualified your statement with sinister closing words "free...for now.
Great service, have been using it for a few weeks now.
I have the misfortune of travelling to Dubai in a week's time. I wonder if the free service applies overseas or will my network provider still charge you for texts recieved overseas with this service?
Perhaps I should check with my network provider rather than Guido!
It was a pain in the arse to sign up to.
Twitter are paying the SMS charges at the moment, however some network operators do apply charges to end-users. T-Mobile UK, for example, have been known to do this. You should be able to obtain a refund for any charges against your bill if you play the "I didn't know" card - obviously only works once.
Other international operators may also apply charges. The messages originate from the Channel Islands, at least they do for UK-based subscribers.
It's really easy to sign up to Twitter - only takes about 30 seconds tops. If you get stuck you should perhaps ask if technology is for you...
