Due to the quantity of political sleaze being reported Guido has introduced a simple "Pigs in Shit" rating system for guidance on the misdemeanors of porcine politicians (guide here).

Yet more Wendy Alexander sleaze, Guido. It appeared in the Sunday Post up here, which is the paper everyone usually buys to read the Broons comic strip, so a bit surprising to read a sleaze scoop there, even a minor one.

Anyway, she put down a motion in Holyrood, praising a shopping centre which gave her 1600 squid in donations. It's forbidden in the Holyrood Parliamentary rules to do this sort of thing. However the maximum penalty is only 5 grand, which her election expenses account raised 2 years later can comfortably cover. Thinking ahead or what?

Did you hear about the politician who had his mortgage with the Northern Rock and then used tax payers' money to buy it?

BBC Perks
Daniel Barenboim’s concert feats will live on - but only in the memory

Not a single ticket remains on sale for the two final instalments in the series, tonight and Sunday, which will finish with Beethoven’s last sonata, No 32, Op 111.

Those attending the concerts, which last up to 90 minutes, have included the actors Joseph Fiennes and Sir Ian McKellen, the comedienne Sandi Toksvig and the news broadcasters Jeremy Paxman and Sir Trevor McDonald.
But...surely
Paxman doing a "Newsnight special" must have been an advantage on securing a few tickets for him though ?

The Scottish industry forum might be worth a look. Seems to be another hidden fund raiser for wendy and liebour. Lords Foulkes and Robertson, as well as Bendy have all come out with nothing to see here, move along. According to them it has always been billed as a labour vehicle. Which will come as a bit of a surprise to Ipsos Mori, who say this about it.

" The Scottish Industry Forum is an independent business organisation set up in 1995 to facilitate dialogue between the business community and the government. It has no political affiliation and does not require members to have any particular political views.

The Scottish Industry Forum is a not-for-profit organisation funded by member subscriptions. It carries on a series of working groups for members including Business Opportunities Post-Devolution, Indigenous Development v Inward Investment, Training Post-Devolution, Scottish Parliament and Europe and Incentives for Investment.

It has also provided written evidence to the Low Pay Commission, the DTI Paper Competitiveness UK and a paper in response to a request from the Scottish Office on How Scotland Parliament Should Work.

Edward Cunningham CBE the Chair of the Scottish Industry Forum. "

Yes. Sunday Times releaves that 24 MPs with seats in Greater London are claiming over £20k a year for overnight accomidation.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article3382401.ece

One Labour MP claims the allowance even though he doesn't own a house in his constituency.

Another, Lab MP Dawn Butler, is claiming 20k even though her constituency is only 4 miles from Parliament. Turns out she didn't fancing selling her existing home in East London and used taxpayers' cash to improve her electability by getting a physical presence in her constitency (oh and a double whammy on the housing market). What's the bet that she has a relative staying at one of those homes.

You haven't covered a single MEP yet

Well done for mentioning these, Guido, but that's really all they are worth. It's no worse than your average sales rep.

Remember, Nero fiddled while Rome burned (although I think his fiddling was on the violin).

ok a few snippets from sunday mail

hillary been is in a spot of bother for ok repairs to the sea defences on his dads property at walberswick in suffolk but not to harbour further up. residents up in arms !!

Id cards would be useless in the fight against terrorism , oh right then so thats been aload of bollocks as well has it??

my fav has to be Blinker brown
actor tony booth (cheries once hell raiser dad) , says gordon brown is a "blinker" some one whose weak in a stand off , and always treated his daughter and son in law with contempt.

cherie has apparently described gordon as "pompous and spineless". if only she had gone on to use the words lying and thieveing i thought.

gordons missing appartment payments look good .

blears "teen tzar" 16 yrd old making up gov policy for nu labour , the red despot spotter can only assume that law will soon be passed for , for the price of kit kats to be reduced and national average pocket money limit to be introduced , and no more home work for ever and ever.

amy whinehouse naked lady tatoo cover up for grammys had me laughing "tried to get me to do a re draft , but i said oooh oh ok then"

of course darlings northern rock will be news , cant imagine stock market being happy , watch those pre lunch stats and volumes.

but the one that i think that has got missed was jaqui smiths annoucement that , cops were going to be taken off minor crimes to concentrate on serious ones , i read that as either serious crime stats are in trouble , or minor crime stats will tip target over gov promise. nice one jaqui fiddle the stats by not generating them , very good . alan johnsons waiting in the ambulance to make figures looks equally devious .

more porkies than , than you can shake a stick at .

4pm darling makes house of commons statement , vince is happy but osbourne isnt could be a fine spit roast.

following on from school places lottery and golden tickets suggestion to be found in "wanker bars" , i think there is second confectionary product that should be considered "bunker bars" these are eaten only when trying not to be media visible.

glyniss kinock on andrew marr , trying to look antiquely welsh, tried to off hand shaun bailey , who did a sterling job, glynis looked a bit desperate , so that means labour grandees are complicit in this bag of shite , i still havent quite forgiven her for saying "our goverment" , bloody hell its only the second time ive seen her fizz hog in ten years and thats been in the last 6 months .

marr still loooks stupidly confident of his intellect , dame nevillie jones had tricky marr time , but you could tell she thought they had ruined the country as well .

Guido you have missed literally mountains of sleaze. In fact whole mountain ranges of it.

Cant give tell you precisely where, I'm not MI5.

But the fact that you have missed about about an Austria's worth at least is a total gimmi.

The Speaker of the House of Commons was embroiled in a fresh row over expenses on Sunday after it was reported that air miles earned visiting his constituency were used to fund flights for relatives.

...And of course there is that useless pile of shite, the Charities Commission, which STILL has not got round to making a decision on The Smith Institute. Every penny those lazy fucks take in salary is surely a penny undeserved.

before 2001 MPs could claim £1000 a month in Additional Costs (housing) allowance without rent agreements or mortgage documents - a number of MPs claimed for properties they did not have. Martin Salter (Reading West) did this, I saw him fill in the forms and he has never had a London property, Michael Trend (Windsor) did it and got caught and was deselected for his trouble.

Jane, that Martin Salter is a particularly unpleasant piece of work, and nothing would surprise me about him. His very visage and voice induced nausea in me when I was resident near Reading. As a shooter and blood sports enthusiast, I would happily have settled for him being added to the quarry list in exchange for the fox. I look forward keenly to his eventual come-uppance.
He is an utter, utter twat.

Some of the commentors should state their case and not waffle on wishy/washy like.

45 Govt. IS Martin Salter on your Christmas card list?

In the case of a negative, could you post an anecdote or three concerning Mr Salter?

I like a laugh!!!

more dirt @ 2:55

Mr Richard Hall has taken a grave dislike to Martin Salter MP and explained his reasons pithily.

Here is a pin-up of Martin Salter, who appears to be the secret love-child of Paxo and Rod Liddle. The anecdotes in the comments may amuse you, Mr Dirt.

Or did I not hear him properly?

no wonder martin is delaying investigations until autumn into members of parliament expenses and allowances claims; that silly old bugger has been right at it himself... for fucking ages!
what a carry on eh? it would make a funny film but the unecessary effect in real life is that people die because of this government's sociopathic mania for target led policies.
and what about gordon 'rising damp' brown. what the fuck happened to your moral compass gordon? all the 'we didn't have to declare it' bollocks just doesn't wash.
you've got a compass like jack sparrow's you cunt. but yours leads you in the opposite direction to where you really want to go. gordon brown, you are without any shadow of doubt
a total fucking spastic.

"24 London MPs Claim £20,000+ Overnight Accommodation"

We could fund another couple of MPs with that kind of money...

but then they'd be at it too.

Gordon Marsden MP for Blackpool South claimed £16K for airfares! That's over 230 flights to his constituency. Shame is that it is reported that he spend most of his time with his botfriend in Brighton. I'm glad he spend his time in Parliament lamenting the appalling services for CHILDREN?

thick as thieves said...

it is a matter of trust.
people don't trust politicians and the politicians seem not to care.
it damages democracy and is a recipe for disaster. unless those thieving politicians mend their crooked ways and stop stealing and making unecessary claims upon the public purse things could get ugly.
speaker martin has compromised his own position by making errors of judgement concerning his own expenses. so he is in no position to instigate investigations into other members of parliament on such matters. he's a busted flush.
martin has to go.
