Sunday Sleaze Round-Up

Peter Hain is using his Commons expenses to pay his 80-year-old mother £5,400 a year for “secretarial assistance”. Although Hain was supported by civil servants, special advisers, private secretaries and secretaries on becoming a minister in 1997, he continued to pay Adelaine Hain.
Sunday Times

Bob Spink, employs his former wife as a £28,000-a-year secretary, even though she lives 150 miles from his constituency. Apparently this is not alimony, she manages databases for him. He also employed his lover and her daughter.
Mail on Sunday

Nicholas and Ann Winterton claim rent subsidy allowance to pay the rent on a flat they owned outright and which they put in a trust for their children. Effectively meaning the taxpayer pays their children £30,000 a year for nothing.
Mail on Sunday

Alan Johnson, the health secretary, gave special access to a National Health Service contractor owned by one of the biggest donors to his deputy leadership campaign, holding a private meeting in his offices with Dr Reg Race of Quality Health, who had earlier given £5,000 to Johnson’s deputy leadership campaign.

Johnson met Race at the Department for Health on November 12, according to questions answered under the Freedom of Information Act. Unusually no civil servants were at the meeting and no minutes were kept. Quality Health has millions in contracts with the NHS.
The Times

Electoral Commission to investigate dodgy proxy donor via 50 year-old Pakistani "student" to Alan Johnson's campaign.

I thought ALL jobs had to be advertised by LAW. My place of employment has to. How many people did the MP's interview for the position of employment given to a family member? I remember Caroline Flint on an episode of last week's 'Daily Politics' getting rather shirty when stating that her husband 'worked' for her in her constituency office. This practice is not limited to MP's- i know of MSP's who employ family members; Euro MEP's etc, must also do the same. Gorbals Thick seems to think CONway has 'suffered enough'. No Gorbals, 'CONners' should pay back EVERY penny, as well as standing down as an MP immidiately. MP's are coming across as a closed shop for corrupt freeloading scum. Disgusting.

In the midst of all this the MP pigs are STILL demanding that their salaries should be more like £80,000-£100,000!

NO NO NO NO NO NO.

Their already overly generous salary insulates them from the financial consequences of most of the decisions they take affecting the rest of us - the people who pay their wages.

They MUST be made to live in the same world as ordinary citizens and I would suggest that their pay should be to be around the average industrial wage, say, £30,000 with a guaranteed lengthy prison sentence for earning/accepting funds by any other means.

Then we would see who actually wants to serve the public as opposed to leeching off it.

Labour MP Sadiq Khan is whingeing that a conversation he had with a constituent was bugged. Perhaps he considers his self to be above the law, it's certainly the case that a number of Labour MPs believe that.

You know, if MPs were bugged more often they might be forced to clean up their act.

And I'll bet good money that this is just the tip of a very large and dirty iceberg. This country has become totaly corrupt. If I hear one more politician telling me that "Britain is the least corrupt country in the world", I think I'll vomit.

Let's face it though. What we're talking about here is financial corruption; there's also the electoral corruption to consider... we've had a judge telling us that the way elections are run would do credit to a banana republic, and more recently, we've had the Council of Europe condemning our electoral system as being wide open to abuse. We've got a government who have rigged the electoral system by giving campaign money to incumbent MPs - thus ensuring that they have the advantage in any up and coming elections.

I can see it all now... Gordon Brown to win the next general election by a landslide 84,000,000 votes (postal of course).

I'm sick of all of them. They should all be put up against the bloody wall and shot, the venal, self-serving bastards!

That's my rant through for the morning... I need beer - though nanny says not more than 3 units a day (yeah, right).

Slightly OT, but not only has Jack Himmler Straw announced an immediate investigation into the bugging of a suspected Muslim terrorist's conversation with his Muslim MP (and FRIEND) Sadiqa Khan as gooey blob points out above, but these cunts have now announced that after a yearlong study, in secret we must presume, that men with multiple wives can claim multiple benefits! Fucking IMMEDIATE, I tell you; clearly he views this patently sensible move by the security forces as a far worse infraction than any of the thieving, lying and vote-rigging by him, his colleagues and his constituents. OH NO, we must Not fucking eavesdrop on anyone who wants to blow us up, or at least not till they and all their dead relatives have voted. Of course the allowance of marital benefits to as many of your tribe as you can smuggle in will be a huge deterrent to illegal immigration, I wonder the genius hasn't brought it in earlier, then not only will we have Muslim no-go areas in Strawman's heartland, we can introduce them to the recalcitrant bastards in the South who resolutely refuse to understand the ZaNulab project, and keep insulting the Snotgobbler's crew by taking leave to doubt their word (hon gentlmen etc), and indeed their probity. What cunts we are .
This is proof final, were it needed, that this scummy administartion is giving the keys of the asylum to the inmates. If you are a Muslim, Jack fucking superannuated student activist turned fascist Straw will give you whatever you want. Just keep voting for the cunt.

Quite frankly, much as I would like to take the likes of Conman, Tangoman, and the Winterton thieves out into the snow and shoot them, this issue is of life and fucking death for the country.
Left to this lot and Livingslime, Sharia Law is just round the corner, and not only can we look forward to suicide bombings by downs syndrome cannon fodder, the elimination of the likes of Michael Nazir-Ali, but the closing of all non Muslim religious institutions. Apart from the inevitable demise of the cunt of a bearded imposter in the post of Archbishop of Canterbury, the unspeakable twat Rowan William, the outlook is beyond grim.
It is time to take to the streets, and remind those fucking plods, that we won't behave like sheep next time to get duffed up like the innocent Countryside Marchers.

Hmmm. £5,400 to his mother. I wonder how much personal and age-related allowance she has left just at the end of the tax year, but before this payment - somewhere around £5,400 perhaps?

HMRC are increasingly expecting "employers" to keep records of calculations of hours, rates, etc for wife's/family members wages coming in just below the allowance limits - and to see the actual payments in the books. Not that Hain has anything to fear from an enquiry into his tax returns, I'm sure *cough*.

ATTEMPTED COUP D'ETAT IN SCOTLAND!!

Charles McGrory wrote:
Interesting developments and Mr Dyer clarifies that: 1. donations she received over £520 should have been registered as gifts as per Holyrood procedures regardless of the Electoral Commission 2. the cash was directed to the Wendy Alexander Campaign'' not the MSP herself - I have like many gone into the processes of the hidden or illegal donations as they transgressed the Political Parties, Elections & Referendums Act 2000. In the last few days, it occurred to me to read the Act from the front end declared purpose of the Act. And here it is: Schedule 1 of the Act asserts that the EC “may do anything… to the carrying out of their functions.” But, Schedule 1 also states that the Commission is not an agent of the Crown and does not enjoy any status, immunity or privilege of the Crown. So the EC if it does no act with integrity can be prosecuted. The declared purpose of the Act is as follows: “An Act to establish an Electoral Commission; to make provision about the registration and finances of political parties; to make provision about donations and expenditures for political purposes, to make provision about election and referendum campaigns.” As per the Act these ‘elections’ are parliamentary elections, (b) elections to the European Parliament, (c) elections to the Scottish Parliament, (d) elections to the National Assembly for Wales, (e) elections to the Northern Ireland Assembly, (f) local government elections, and (g) local elections in Northern Ireland. Nowhere in the Act does it cover internal formal or informal Leadership Elections to head a party! I suspect that the ‘W A Campaign’, the reported bank account which received the monies has nothing to do with the Labour Party Accounting System. S 22 of the Act describes the need for registration and other details follow. The other leadership campaigns in Holyrood were self-financed or paid out of the formal accounting systems of the Registered Political Parties. I would bet that the ‘W A Campaign’ is not registered as a political party and was and is operating outside of the law. Any election campaign funds by the act have to be spent on relevant elections and not the ‘W A Campaign’, which may have been in effect a private slush fund to gain political power through the back door. What we may have here is an unregistered private group who have taken funds i.e. gifts outside of the PPER Elections Act, to assist them in gaining control of a major political party. The Labour Party in Scotland was not in power; there was no democratic process; there was no Internal Election and there was no active campaign. Some countries would consider this to be an attempted coup d’etat! Same operations outside the law appear to have been conducted by and for Hain, Harriman and all the rest of the leadership candidates who have taken ‘money-gifts’ directly to themselves and outside of the formal accounting channels of their Registered Political Party so they can take control of a registered political party from an unregistered internal competition for power. OOOOhhhhh.

Charles, good work there, you have introduced a scenrio that has we have hitherto been unaware of.

I wrote at the outset of this that Alexander had unwittingly forced the hand of the establishment in Scotland. An establishment (and I include the media) that had avoided scrutiny for decades if not generations. What if Hutcheon and The Sunday Herald editor had refused to run with this?

Your round up Guido, leads me to think that, just like the members register of interests, we need a public ROS - register of sleaze. Information to date is diluted through being fragmented across various media and deliberately obfuscated by the brigade that insists we are the least corrupt country in world and by the gentlemens club culture. This ROS would be a cumulative, complete (as far as it can ever can be) permanent public record openly available on the internet containing details of all sleaze and it's status - rumour, alleged, proven, punished (that's a laugh), and even a right of reply. In time it could be extended to all potential and prospective candidates for government. How about you putting this together, Guido - it fits your agenda and would enhance your service to this country no end.

This from CiF. Unusually perceptiive I thought.

"Cameron's challenge is that New Labour is sinking like a ship not like a stone. It suddenly lurches downwards into the water and then recovers enough buoyancy to lift back up somewhat. It's for that reason the people on the Titanic didn't actually believe it was going to sink until twenty minutes before it went under.

The Tories won't start running a proper campaign until it's clearly obvious that New Labour are going under. Good policies sold now will either get stolen by Brown or destroyed at New Labour's leisure. Once New Labour have lost all credibility, neither course of action is worth wasting time or breath over.

And I wonder if it's worth Cameron actually firing a broadside at the creaking hulk. The worst and damaging policies New Labour has were breathed into life in the belief that the party was unassailable. The retreat from ID cards is mealy mouthed and gestured, if Gordon thinks he's on the way up, he'll start frothing about forcing every student to carry one, if he thinks he's going under, he'll back off. So it's better to leave New Labour waving rather than drowning, as the hole Brown will dig for Cameron will be so much deeper and wider.

It's far more effective to goad Brown into triangulating himself into ever more incoherent policy decisions, in the belief that it is possible to rescue New Labour. It's the Local Government Elections that will open Pandora's ballot box."

All this sort of stuff has been going on since parliaments were invented.

The question is. What has really changed apart from the coming of the internet, to make us HATE with such true distrusting passion, even our current political masters, little common place grafts and fiddles?

11 years of authoritarian FASCIST socialism, thats whats changed.

At no time, possibly in the history of mankind, has a nations people been as 'micro managed by government and its corporate sponsors' as the British people are right now.

However not content with this 'achievement,' British and European FASCIST socialism desires desperately to ever tighten its EVIL grip on our minds bodies and souls.

If this were not the case. I for one would be quite contented to double the pay of all MPs tomorrow.

Gladly double it again if they all promised to stop trying to make the world a better place.

Because in common with the rest of humanity, they only know how to make the world a better place for themselves. Which is the one thing they seem determined, never to let us try to do for ourselves.

The other reason is that, they are mostly all evil sons of bitches.

Which sold their souls to the devil decades if not generations ago. So hate us normal, more wholesome people, with a degree of burning contempt far higher then anything Guido could possibly come up with.

Never mind your sleaze, Guido. This is even more frightening:

Husbands with multiple wives have been given the go-ahead to claim extra welfare benefits following a year-long Government review, The Sunday Telegraph can reveal.

Even though bigamy is a crime in Britain, the decision by ministers means that polygamous marriages can now be recognised formally by the state, so long as the weddings took place in countries where the arrangement is legal.

The outcome will chiefly benefit Muslim men with more than one wife, as is permitted under Islamic law.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/02/03/nbenefit103.xml

Here we have the government promising to give money - your and my hard-earned cash - to support bigamy, an arrangement that is plain ILLEGAL.

The date of this article is Feb 3, not April 1.

Right, that's it, I'm off. Spain, France... anywhere. Great Britain is no more.

the home office has been instructed that registrars are no longer allowed to prevent sham marriages aswell. registrars are prohibited from demanding authorisation papers from foreign nationals to prove their status prior to marrying them. thereby making a mockery of our marriage laws and immigration policy. the home office has been told that by doing so the registrars will be in breach of the human rights act. unfuckingbelievable.
registrars on principle are refusing to abide by this instruction, so we can soon expect them to be taken to court and for compensation to be paid to foreign nationals engaged in the illegal activity of false marriages and marrying for profit.
what is legal under the human rights act is illegal under british law. a constitutional crisis looms methinks.

This is a complete non story and everyone should staple the papers shut in the morning until some proper news emerges.

My 84 year old mother Iris Quango , and Adelaine Hain are in fact good friends and i can confirm that they both do important work that is not covered by ordinary secretarial duties.

why Iris [grandma Noo Noo as she is known around the office ] is more conversant with some of the systems than many of her younger colleagues.

she can be

Fax machine roll changer
Telex Operator
Telegraphist
Semaphore reader
Pigeon post keeper.
Maker and keeper of the wax seals
Ships lights
And of course smoke signals.
How one would cope without these invaluable aids is not mentioned by the standards commission i see !

Just been reading about the multiple benefits for multiple wives story. I can't fucking believe it. This is the most worrying piece of Muslim vote buying I have ever come across. If I stay here much longer I'll end up going bonkers. Short of going on the rampage, there seems to be no way of stopping the endemic corruption Labour has created.

(a) actually ON topic - several posts had discussed the multiple wifes being allowed for muslims in this country while it is again our law for us non muslims, i simply showed through a few basic facts and stats the implication of this combined with other related facts.

(b) boring is subjective, though how a few simple stats showing how our country will become an islamic state going by current trends is considered boring is beyond me or any other non muslim.

(c) barking as in mad - these are basic truthful facts and stats.
how these could be considered barking is beyond me!

get your own blog this is mine says guido -

indeed it is, thank you for making it clear that you moderate the blog comments to suit yourself exposing the fact to all who view that the comments section is not a current valid view of political opinion - undermining the credibility of your blog, its impact and weakening all comments made by the public -

mmmm piss poor reply guido! and a piss poor attitude!

Guido, what do you mean the controversial post was "probably deleted because..."

What's "probable" about it when you go on to boast ownership of the blog? Do you employ someone else as a moderator? Snotgobbler? Leninslime? Grasper?

This is just the kind of doublespeak you claim to hate in others.

I want to read the post you have banned and decide for myself whether it's boring or barking. Are we obliged to stay fully on topic, slavishly following an agenda dictated by yourself, like the Today programme messageboard, which people are deserting in droves because of its new editorial - sorry, dictatorial - policy?

Make sitting MPs list salary, pension entitlements, categorised expenses and number of 'fact-finding' tours to salubrious spots on the ballot paper.

Then the voters can decide if they're worth it.
My bet - brand new HoC.

Guido, I can well understand that you don't want this site turned into a Muslim-bashing free-for-all, but this is getting serious.

The Janitor, Thick as Thieves and the guy who keeps changing his name are right. Our country has been under quite enough attack from the quislings of New Labour; their latest concessions to the extreme demands of Islam take it to new heights.

The Janitor's link shows that even Turkey - a country we consider as Muslim - has been taking a tougher line against extremism than Britain until now. Turkey forbids women to wear headscarves in university on the ground that it widens divisions and "violates the constitutional principle of secularism" (try banning them here!). But the Muslim-dominated government now wants to overturn the ban - at the same time as smarming their way into Europe. Turkey's Muslim dictators want the rich pickings European membership can offer, yet refuse to give up their oppressive ways.

Back in Britain, granting state benefits to multiple wives is another triumph for those who want to destroy all our cherished beliefs and traditions. What next - benefits for multiple gay partners?

Not even Littlejohn could have made it up - yet it's happening now. And it MUST be stopped.

The bugging story is a masterstroke. It makes the government look dodgy, racist, authoritarian and plain untrustworthy. Bugging Ahmed seems like a pretty good idea provided it was kept secret. Now it's out, the questions are who is Davis' source? And who is the source for the ST? Why? Why now? I believe that there is a campaign underway to undermine Brown and which will not abate until he resigns and Miliband makes the Labour party electable again. Brown as PM serves noone other than the Tories.

Look within is my advice.

The stables undoubtedly need cleaning but I cannot see what is wrong with the Winterton case . It mattereth not how the ownership of the property is arranged to dodge inheritance tax . Lots of people are compelled to take measures like this because inheritance tax threshold are way too low .

As for it being mortgade or not its irrelevant .
Opportunity cost anyone ?

You are quite right. The bung plus her pension minus her "expenses" has to add up to the tax allowance of an eighty year old which is... 7690 this year and 9000-something next year. Silly me. Seems that The Orange One is better at his sums than he has previously let on.

This thread is bringing all the vile racists out of the woodwork to attack their favourite target: the muslim community.

As for the disgraceful bugging incident, it is clearly racist. Why should a British muslim MP be eavesdropped paying a private visit to one of his muslim constituents who is in prison on ALLEGATIONS only?

The levels of racism and attacks on peace loving muslims in this country is becoming intolerable. The government must begin to crackdown on all these white-supremacist, little-Englander racists before they go too far.

Mr Straw is right. You must be taught that England has lost it's empire now and this country does not just belong to bitter, small-minded English bigots.

If they are upset about one 40k secretary, what about if I nip over to Dubai with three girlfriends - fact-finding trade mission - we all convert, get married, have a wild party on the research, and it's back here for claims all round. Split it 4 ways, shouldn't raise too many eyebrows.

Plus, that will show the old witch she's not indispensible at garden parties. That new researcher brushes up nicely - put a bit of oomph in to the photos, they're always complaining we don't look young enough.

Worth it just to see Harpic's face when she realizes she's rationed to one Dromey, but he can do all the demonstrating of solidarity with the wimmin he's been maundering on about since Grunwick - and get paid for it.

Kam, yes the sooner your Jihadi organisers and poisoned clerics living on benefits take off abroad and your loathsome little Al-Qaeda cohorts stop using mentally handicapped women the better the whole world will be, but don't worry Kam its only the Islamapologists in Government that keep the rest of the world putting your brethren overseas firmly back in the Stone Age or carbonised but they can't plug the dyke forever.

Question - how did the informant know about the bugging?

1) Privy to it.
2) The police did/said something that implied that they had listened in.

Some are trying to claim the Americans asked for it to be done. I say that is blame shifting bollocks.

This government is a collections of ex-socialists and ex-commies. They still believe that the State is good - particularly since they are running it. See Polly Filler and her idea of negative liberty that restrains the state from "helping" you. So, lega
