Mystery of Missing Clients

The two PR firms involved in donations to Hain's campaign had something very interesting happen when Hain's donor troubles hit the headlines. As you can see from the above screenshots, things started disappearing. Counter-productively for them this intrigued Guido. Morgan Allen Moore's client list disappeared and T M Communications entire website went offline - which is strange for experts in "technology and communications".

So Guido started digging around for their client lists. That is how the coincidence between Steve Morgan's client Tesco and Hain's "Every Little Helps" endorsement was uncovered.

TM Communications are not registered lobbyists with the APPC so their client list wasn't on the register. It took some investigative digging to find a client list already in the public domain from their now deleted website. Their clients include Newport Networks, The Professional Golfers Association, and investment group Wesley Clover.

Newport Networks was set-up by Welsh billionaire Sir Terry Matthews, who is also the chairman of Wesley Clover and his Celtic Manor Golf Resort will be hosting the PGA Ryder Cup in 2010.

TM Communications say that their £1,500 donation to Hain's campaign was made by them "on behalf of the directors and shareholders". Not Sir Terry, he "doesn't do politics".

Can anyone a bit more clued up on politics than I enlighten me how many days Hain has left according to the old 'Alistair Campbell Rule Of Thumb' ?

He said that if an issue was still on the headlines after x days then the Minister had to go. Was it 11 or 17 days ? And when did this start to go badly wrong for Peter Hain ?

He may already be living on borrowed time by this calculation..

I always thought the "TM" stood for Terry Matthews Communications? Isn't he the owner?

Jess(ica) Morden PPS to Welsh Secretary Pensioner Phain, and former General Secretary of Labour Wales is prominent by her lack of support for her boss.
Maybe she is readying another terminal Ron Davies "frank and friendly meeting" with Pensioner.
His loyalty in difficult circumstances to his apathetic PPS is commendable or is he afraid to sack her!

Why did Tery Matthews throw a measly scrap of £1500 to a person of Pensioners stature and renown. Maybe canny Matthews knows Pensioner is a 'busted flush'.

"…the old Alistair Campbell Rule …"

The problem for Brown is that Campbell isn't around any more. Hain would have been out on his arse before his feet hit the floor (cf Mandelson II). It's a fair measure of Brown's inability to run a government that this tawdry scandal is rumbling on outside while he's busy indoors having 'visions'.

I said that they couldn't do conspiracy!

What a bunch of wankers, thinking that taking down their website would hide their client list. What have they got to hide?

Pathetic!!

sir terry did you knowingly give money to hain ?? or was it just for the labour party.
so has morgan been tarting up his own shop front then by giving money to cabinet members unbeknown to the donors , so he can keep chips in the game.

Could be! When I came across this guy some years ago he was relating the story of how his first business venture was set up with Mike Copeland (or a name something like that) to import lawnmowers. The name "MITEL" came from "Mike And Terry's Electric Lawnmowers", so he's not averse to using simple names in company titles.

It occurs to me that the reason Brown won't fire Hain is that he is guilty of the same offense.

i.e. Abrahms

Hain knows the dirt.

This is the reason the snot gobbler has disowned him but won't sack him.

Does anyone remember Rhodri Morgan, the Leader of the Welsh Assembly, insulting the Normandy Veterans by refusing to attend the 60th Anniversary of the DDay Landings. He had a more pressing engagement, attending a Golf weekend which was the lead up to the award of the 2010 Ryder Cup to be held at... wait for it Pyke....Celtic Manor Golf Resort which is owned by Sir Tel Mathews.

What a spiders web. This has legs and will run and run until all of these corrupt Labour bastards are run out of office. Tossers the lot of them.

I do hope, as the NuLabour collapse and details of their crimes start properly emerging, that there's a trail directly to Levy and Bliar. Debauching British politics was their solitary solid and lasting achievement and they should get the credit that's due to them. The prison cells too, God willing.

I've been having a roam around interweb blogs this evening after hard day at mill.

It does appear there's a concerted effort by nulab orientated morons to blog post heavily abusive stuff relating to Hain and trying to tie in Osbourne.

It looks like the kind of concerted campaign that team McCann get's up to, with odd names but the same directed spleen on a range of blogs.

Sure would be interesting to look at the IP addresses this shower of shit are using

Example: Mooo on the Guardian CiF Jackie Ashley response

BTW Guido old chap, never seen so many references to your great works across the web today

Political Trials in Britain (1984) - Is law enforcement founded on political decisions?

Peter Hain examines this crucial issue, analysing overtly political cases involving official secrecy, conspiracy, public order, trade unions, Northern Ireland and race relations, and challenging the whole notion of laws as an impartial and technical instrument.

MAM's Client page, before removal, kicked off with these prescient words; "Morgan Allen Moore represents Clients across a broad range of sectors, bringing specifically tailored Public Affairs and Media Management expertise to win results. Our Client retention rate of 95 per cent speaks for itself"

Pity about the 5% - because as we all now know, every little helps!

One would have thought that a PR company would have realised that information can't just be deleted from the internet anymore... once it's up it's available forever - it's just a matter of going to the archives.
Trying to change the record in this way will always attract attention - if they were really that smart, they'd have realised that the best course would be to blag it. As it is, all they've done is succeeded in attracting more attention.

As far as I'm aware, Terry Mathews is a Canadian citizen and therefore not entitled to donate money to any party - as found out by the recently guilt soaked Bendy-Wendy Alexander.

Doubtless it would be TM's companies and not himself who were doing the donation

Possibly Brown's reluctance to act on Hain is that he has a think-tank skeleton in his own cupboard - The Smith Institute. Is the Charities Commission still looking into that one?
