How Guido Destroyed Hain's Ambitions in 12 Months
On January 29, 2007 Guido threw Hain's leadership campaign into disarray by revealing his campaign strategy and supporters. It led to chaos in Hain4Labour. The leak meant that nobody in the campaign trusted anybody. In May 2007 Guido revealed the Hain4Labour campaign budget and that sleazy lobbyist Steve Morgan was arranging the financing.
On the morning of December 3, 2007 Guido chased down an undeclared donor and talked to Hain's Special Adviser Joe Carberry to ask about missing undeclared donations. That afternoon Hain went to see the Electoral Commission.
On January 8 this year Guido revealed the links between campaign donors and endorsements from Hain.

You GOD!!!!
SO the smug cynical orange bastard is no more. Well done Guido.
Who's next?
Why ? What had the guy done to you for gods sake ? Just being bloody minded is a sad way to go.
Nice one, Guido. How about stepping up the pressure on Harriet Harridan, Windbag Alexander and all the other mendacious munts?
Well done again.
Well played Guido!!!!!!
The scumbag bites the dust.
You forgot one more fact, Guido:
Throughout the whole affair, the mainstream media cravenly ignored the story on the orders of their NuLab paymasters.
Note the BBC is still not even acknowledging it.
Too busy laughing to type!
You have done the electorate a great service, although you've screwed over my beloved Conservatives because Hain was poison for the government as long as he hung around!
I wonder what Ken Livingstone is now thinking in his hideout overlooking the Thames ?
Hmmm Hain resigns, crime is down 9% - no connection surely?
So Hain has resigned to 'clear his name'? (Guffaw - Yeah, right) To the block with him. Off with his fat ministerial pension!
One down.
Mike - "Why ? What had the guy done to you for gods sake ? Just being bloody minded is a sad way to go."
Did you miss the bit where Hain broke the law? Did you miss the bit where his boss called him "incompetent"?
Well done Guido - there is only one thing that Peter Hain is interested in and that is Peter Hain. His abandonment of any remaining principles in selling himself to his enemies merely to attempt to get into power as Deputy Leader was sickening.
My opinion of him before that was low...now it's non-existent. He was the absolute worst of NuLabour.
Good riddance.
Good job and well done!
Guido, well done and richly deserved.
It would be churlish to deny a chap the right to a degree of dick-waving in such circumstances, but may I counsel a degree of restraint? Many newcomers may now start visiting the site, and reporting the casualty more in dignified sorrow and concern at "the state to which ministerial behaviour has sunk" etc etc rather than "ding dong the witch is dead" is likely to be more influential in the long run.
Fair play, though: take the rest of the day off and award yourself a jereboam at once.
good tactics, kill the soldiers on the way to the commander. you are getting closer Guido
Chapeau!
Come on Guido ... isn't that cartoon just a little over-the-top and insensitive??
Thank you.
Do you have any good stories on skateboarding ducks? We need to fill the time on air.
Top marks Guido
Please focus all energies on Chairman Ken now!
You're my hero; an inspiration to us all. May it trigger the collapse of the whole nuLieBore regime.
Good riddance you smug looking orange faced bastard.....
Nick Robinson just said this on bbc news24...
'at the beginning of this, there was an acceptance that Peter Hain was a sort of "straight kind of guy"...
what?
its laughable that he can attempt to peddle this myth...The bbc's complete bias to nulab is a total disgrace...
surely this sets a precedent for any cabinet minister (Harmann or even Wendy Alexander) to have to resign if they are investigated by the police?
Mike 1:09
I find it difficult to believe anyone, even a nulab troll, can seriously ask that question.
Well, apart from being the sort of mendacious , utterly incompetent chancer, who thought he and his nulab cronies were above the law, hain had done absolutely nothing wrong.
Have a little grace, Guido.
I Googled: 'number of ministers labour government 2008' and got back this link at the top of the list for some reason:
How Many Illegal Dumps In Barbados? Sanitation Authority ...
I was trying to find out how many of the mendacious types there are. Anybody know?
Bloody Marvellous - Guido !
Well done!!
Keep it up, Guido.
Raising our glasses to Guido - Three cheers and no heeltaps.
Today You have proved for once and for all that politicians are not above the law.
Good Job - Done Well - Thank You.
Harhardehar the lying thieving bastards been TANGOED!!!
Well done Guido.
Yes. The cartoon is over the top and insensitive. That's what political cartoons are.
Brilliant, Guido! We are a grateful nation. Can you get any more of the thieving buggers?
Fantastic work Sir. Bring 'em on...
Messages of sympathy, support and condolence to the permatanned spiv should be sent here.....
http://www.peterhain.org/
Bloke spends a lot of time clearing his name doesn't he?
Hattie or Wendy now?
choices choices...
Hattie, git her boy, go git her!
One down, 300+ to go!
In fact, could you have a go at Ken Livingstone then Gordon Brown, you'd be doing the nation an even greater service.
people power!
the house of cards is comming down.
well done Guido, here`s to you on this great day, a victory for the long suffering Great British public.
now if you could just work on the Millicunts!
Brilliant Guido! It couldn't have happened to a more self-righteous prick (except for any Liberal Democrat you might care to mention).
Still, I've a nasty feeling we haven't hear the last of him ...
Spare a thought for the Maesteg Maggot... can't see him and his sleazy little lobbying outfit getting much work now!
Silly tart on BBC 24 - "Isn't this an issue for ALL parties".
Yes, luv, we all hate the Tango Fucker!
Re: politicos considering themselves above the law.
The review of the laws on political activities by charities, reported in the telegraph as due for announcement today, seems tailor-made to legitimise the Sith. Let us not allow tears of schadenfreude over Hain to blind us to this new menace.
Nice one.
Sith next.
Brain dead Aluwahlia and Hill just not up to reporting this. No bloody mention of PPF until brought up by Plaid man and even then this pair of tossers did not pick up on the corruption of using PPF as a money laundering vehicle.
FFS BBC tossers wake up and do a bit of research.
Excellent work, sir. Just sad I didn't take that bet you linked to last week!
Respect and congratulations Guido! Keep it going.
Love the pic Guido, absolutely looooovvvvvvve it!
you should get a knighthood!
arise sir Guido!
at least you have earnt yours!
hopefully the dead tree papers will now give you your due credit.
Guido a man of the people!
Well done - you've already done more damage to the Government than your namesake ever managed!
But don't stop there. Who's name next in the Little Black Book of Torment?
Yippee!
If you can just fix it for us to have and EU referendum next......
Wouldn't life be boring without corrupt MP's!
I think the problem lies with the way parliament as a whole conducts itself i.e. if an honourable member says I'm not guilty then his word is his bond. Dishonorable Bliar cracked this one wide open and soon realised that he could lie through his back teeth and get away with it and it just got worse. Thank goodness there are now people that are managing to prise out the truth and one day the will be a proper system put in place instead of ridiculous inquiries such as Hutton which has allowed this corruption to take place and grow.
Well done Guido but there is still a lot more to do.
Today is the seventh anniversary of Mandelson's second resignation, by the way.
anon 1.17 and anon 1.21, the new labour war party that you are such rabid supporters of is responsible for the death and displacement of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians. and yet you are offended by a cartoon. degenerate warmonger apologists like you turn my stomach you fucking hypocrites.
fuck off back to your bbc or guardian newsdesks or wherever scum like you come from. cunts like you are not welcome here.
Good for you Guido, but I don't think that gloating and using a tasteless cartoon does you any favours. I expected better than that.
"We may allow ourselves a brief period of rejoicing; but let us not forget for a moment the toil and efforts that lie ahead. Harman and Alexander, with all their treachery and greed, remain unsubdued.
"We must now devote all our strength and resources to the completion of our task, both at home and abroad. Advance Guido."
The anti-British ungrateful corrupt robbing foriegn bastard has gone!
things can only get better, can only get better!
The first, permanent, comment on the BBC 'have your say' is this:
"A sad day - Peter Hain stood for everything a socialist should in the days of anti apartheid. He was a person who stood high in my estimation."
Every other comment over 6 pages is critical. BBC wankers.
Paul Flynn MP: 'supporter of Peter Hain'
called it a 'vindictive witch hunt' which has brought Hain down.
Just said also there 'no one believes that there is even a hint of sleaze' hrm.. think thats highly questionable!
the bbc presenter on news24 just told him he was totally out of order to claim that this reflects badly on british politics as a whole...
Well done Guido, the cartoon's a little understated but graciousness in victory is the British way.
Sleazy, thick bastard.
And that's just Paul Flynn.

Have a little grace, Guido.
Balls! The rules of politics apply: In defeat malice; in victory, revenge.
Ut sementem feceris, ita metes
Guido, you are the nads.
Sorry to put a damper on the celebrations but I'm wondering if anyone will be starting a book on the wording of the CPS statement?
My money would be on 'insufficient evidence' but 'prosecution not in the public interest' could be a strong second.
Hi Five.
Just watched his resignation statement - I might have missed it, but did anyone else notice he thanked everyone under the sun apart from Gordo ?
Kim Howells to Welsh Office
How much is a single ticket to South Africa?
Hain isn't the worst sort of a fella.
But anyone who took even a passing interest in his performance while he was in Ireland will not be surprised by this. A complete lack of regard for the law will get anyone in the end.
Botter Brown spends all night watching videos of History Channel's 'Last Days Of The Reich' cos' now he knows how Hitler must have felt.
I wonder if he's got a Walther in his sock drawer?
anon 1.43 that goes for you too.
also, peter has resigned but ofcourse gordon 'junk bond' brown should have sacked him. another clear example of gordon's poor judgement.
You horrid horrid horrid man.
Guido must be very proud; I'm sure he sleeps well at night?
Great, Guido.
May I respectfully ask that you turn your attention to Wendy Alexander next?
Reasons? Wee Wendy is much closer to Brown than Hain ever was.
Nailing Wendy also impinges on Douglas Alexander, another Brown crony.
Nailing Wendy would destroy Brown's credibility in his own (hitherto) fiefdom.
There is a strong suspicion in Scotland that the Electoral Commission is being leaned on to produce a pro-Wendy verdict,
The BBC in Scotland has shut the Wendy crime story down completely, so you would be doing us a favour by opening it up again.
Please!
Well done Guido!!
Once again you've left the gutless MSM trailing in your wake!
More to follow methinks....
Keep up the good work fella!
Congratulations, Guido!
You have done the country a fine service!
More! More!
There is an extreme irony here: that Peter Hain (whose admirable qualities have been extolled by the Fawksters ad nauseam here) should be the one to show the rest of this corrupt Labour administration, how to behave.
Surely no one would have laid odds on that!
Great stuff, Guido. Snot rag gone, now for the snot picker and the rest of the slimey bunch.
Hain's statement, widely reported on the BBC:
"I made a mistake, but it was an innocent mistake."
But surely any investigation will confirm this, and Hain will be cleared? Why then is he resigning?
Or, when he uses 'innocent', does he mean 'guilty as f*ck but didn't manage the get away with it'?
As Churchill said, magnanimity in victory, so I won't add to the man's discomfort. However, if there is a waiting list for those who want to plant their size 11's on his wobbly orange backside, please put my name down.
Congratulations Guido on toppling the odious creep.
I look out of the window in my office and somehow Britain just looks a better place now.
Solid work Guido. It's fair to say this sleazy man could still be in government, complete with his laudromat lobbyists and undeclared donations. Thanks.
Pooh-Bah. It is consequently my degrading duty to serve this upstart as First Lord of the Treasury, Lord Chief Justice, Commander-in-Chief, Lord High Admiral, Master of the Buckhounds, Groom of the Back Stairs, Archbishop of Titipu, and Lord Mayor, both acting and elect, all rolled into one. And at a salary! A Pooh-Bah paid for his services! I a salaried minion! But I do it! It revolts me, but I do it!
Nanki-Poo. And it does you credit.
Pooh-Bah. But I don't stop at that. I go and dine with middle-class people on reasonable terms. I dance at cheap suburban parties for a moderate fee. I accept refreshment at any hands, however lowly. I also retail State secrets at a very low figure.
Sometimes I do wonder if Gilbert & Sullivan had an inkling of what would become of this country over a hundred years later from when The Mikado was written. That could have been written for Mr Hain.
Hmmm bit pleased with yourself aren't you?
Anonymous 2:08
That’s not true, I hate the bbc more every day but I have to admit that in the last week newsnight scotland had a whole programme on the wendy alexander issue...indeed someone on the programme suggested that her case was being treated as of less importance when compared to 'issues down south' for the electoral commission. So maybe now hain has gone, they will open the 'alexander file'...
Hurrah! Another sleazy NuLab crook bites the dust.
Guido, you are a hero.
sky news just announced that hain has now left his office 'through the back entrance'...
somehow seems right that he should go in that way...
Thank you Guido and congratulations! :)
Looking forward to domino effect.
Well done Guido, a nation's thanks. Proper eulogy on my blog timhedges.blogspot.com.
Now for the Smith Institute. Go Guido!
Guido,
Many congratulations. You deserve all the back slapping.
To hear all the 'commentators' one question comes to mind. WHY ARE YOU ALL SUCH COWARDS?
Well done.
Please, please, concentrate on brown now please.
Ha
The next line of defences are being prepared - see the opening paragraph of Nick Robinson's blog on the story:
"There are important differences between the cases of Peter Hain and those of Gordon Brown's deputy, Harriet Harman, and Labour's Scottish leader, Wendy Alexander, who are still awaiting the verdicts of the Electoral Commission."
You couldn't make it up, has the BBC no shame???????
mitch said, 2:12
a coconut for that man. hain didn't just wake up this morning and think, 'God this is too boring, I think I'll resign'. He's been told that the police have sufficient on him to charge him and make it stick. Expect further developments here !
Pee uckin'marvellusss !!!!!!
Well done Guido .
A good job, well done. Congrats.
Now please get after King Rat...
Well done Guido.
Odd accouting figures - nice round numbers.
Delayed disclosure.
Only broke rules, not laws.
Goes to ground.
Appears to be sole beneficary of funds from a think tank with no thinkers or thoughts.
Boss of bosses says he is merely incompetent.
Plod asked to investigate.
Whose next?
Funny how Strathclyde Polis seem to be so slow dealing with La Alexander.
Enjoy your victory Guido – You potato gobbling hedge funding Mick. Stay out of British politic’s paddy boy.
Ken next, please! The hateful little weasel must not be allowed to run London for another four years...
I've got a little list,
and none of them be missed!
Talking on conflicts of interest...
I see Alistair Darling has a Buy To Let flat on a Northern Rock mortgage
Two thoughts:
1. This could give Gordon the chance o have another reshuffle, no bad thing for him right now.
2. No doubt hain will recall his determination to have City bonuses cut during the deputy leadership campaign and we won't see him appearing on boards in return for large sums as his chances of political salvation go as south as those of his party in the years ahead...
"On January 29, 2007 Guido through Hain's leadership campaign into diassarray"
On 24th January 2008 it would appear that Guido lost all command of the English language.
Just returned from walking the dog, what a lovely day it is.just mowed the lawn how lovely it looks.
it looks lovelier not I saw the news on this blog, well done Guido.
Gordon's letter to Hain - "You acted in the best interests of the country !" To quote Hansard(amended) "Absolute B****ock*!" Since when did the interests of the Labour Party equate to the national interest ?
"Wee Wendy" next I think - Guido !
Guido,
as an above poster has mentioned, Wendy Alexander is the better target. Closer to Brown, on his home turf, and an actual admission of law-breaking by her team to boot. More importantly, she has too many enemies within Scottish Labour circles to survive long anyway. If the EC whitewashes her (as many up here suspect), you can be fairly confident more dirt will appear soon. And she's too incompetent to keep dodging the bullets.
THINGS,
CAN ONLY GET BETTER,
CAN ONLY GET BETTER,
WHEN LABOUR's GONE!
These evil tossers don't deserve magnaminity. They are not fine upstanding gentlemen that were simply outclassed by stronger opposition. They are evil, mendacious, Orwellian politicunts of the worst kind. Poo in their mouths and dance on their graves say I!

Well done anon, but it gets worse-far worse than this
Well here's is something for the SNP to get their teeth into now
just Google
'Dunblane D notice'
Words cannot describe this article
shocking
Good shooting. Enjoy a modest libation before you reload.
nice work guido
enjoy a few days off and then come back recharged and ready to go again
don't stop until every last one is out
Lots of praise for you from commenters on the Nick Robinson blog:-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/nickrobinson/2008/01/hain_exits.html
You deserve it!
To think it has come to this - we need one lone soldier fighting for the truth to expose Labour corruption because the massed ranks of the MSM refuses to do it. Look how corrupt our political elite has become. It is now exposed for all to see. Look how the BBC and the Guardian and all the newspapers went after Neil Hamilton - and that guy turns out to have been innocent!
We should march on London with pitchforks and shotguns, descend on Parliament, the Mayor's office, the offices of the BBC and the newspapers. We should cut all their fucking heads off, stick them on pikes and line each side of the Thames with them. Evil mendacious cunts the lot of them. In fact we need a word stronger than cunt to describe them - its far too girly.
So very sorry to hear about Peter, Gordon. Do let me know if I can be of any assistance.
Tony
Well done Guido!
Who next Guido?
(we're not worthy , we're not worthy etc)

Enjoy your victory Guido – You potato gobbling hedge funding Mick. Stay out of British politic’s paddy boy.
Now now Mr Hain, no sour grapes eh?
Stay out of British politic’s paddy boy.
It's politics, plural, you gimp. No apostrophe. You're obviously the product of NuLab's educational policies. Back to school retard boy.
Nobody ever answered my question as to whether he received a double salary for his two Ministerial posts. Does anyone know if he'll walk away with two pensions now? I will be angry if it's a yes.
Broon to Hain:
"...in making this decision you have as ever put the country's interests before your own"
Pass the sickbag!
But...seriously...what hold has Hain over Broon to get such mis-placed loyalty and errors of judgement?
I think we should be told (answers on a postcard).
fantastic Guido you are truly a God!
Well done and on behalf of the Country many sincere thanks Guido but where the hell is Gordo - Tony would have been on TV straight away saying how so very sorry he was to loose such a good minister!!
Well done Guido!
We Scots would, in the absence of a free press up here and saddled with a nulab BBC, be most grateful if you could now turn you investigative abilities to:-
1. Wendy Alexander and
2. The libdums (N Stephen et al) in their shenanigans vis a vis the Aberdeen byepass route?
Many thanks from millions of grateful Scots.
PS: If you prove successful, Scotland will be much further forward towards leaving the union, and you lot will then find it much easier to get rid of "Runner" Bean and his crew of boorish nondescripts.
God speed!
Great work Guido!! Thank God the art of investigative political journalism isn't truly dead... Roll on the next one.
News stories BBC News 24 currently thinks are of vital importance to the British public:
1) A French bank is the victim of fraud.
2) The Scotland football team appoint a new manager.
3) Some people are arrested for child trafficking.
4) The new James Bond film's name is announced.
One story BBC News 24 doesn't think is even worthy of mentioning:
A member of the Cabinet is forced to resign his position after an investigation into his financial affairs is referred to the police.
You don't think Downing Street's been on the phone ordering them not to cover the story, do you? Thank God for Guido, otherwise we probably wouldn't even know he'd gone.
Stuart said...
" Wendy Alexander is the better target. Closer to Brown, on his home turf, and an actual admission of law-breaking by her team to boot."
Same admission of law-breaking as in Flashman's constituency party.
Respect Guido!
Now you're really in the Matt Drudge world league.
How does it go again?
"There were ten Brown Bottlers hanging on the wall......."etc.
Gordon the "Hesitator"
Peter has now been "Hesitated"
You idiot Guido! Hain is a good man and a good politician. You claim to have brought him down with your self-righteous rhetoric. Anyone reading your blog would think you were important...
I see the Guardian has a link on their homepage "How we broke the story" ..... on 8th January 2008!!!
More like "How we realised that everybody already knew about Hain and we couldn't keep a lid on it any longer". Another bunch of cunts.
Ken next please Guido - need to get him out before May, so there is a deadline. Wendy can wait....
anonymous troll 2.35, you're showing your true colours aren't you, you racist troll. oh yeah, there's no apostrophe in politics knucklehead.
Private Eye will probably miss out on this one, so: -

So, farewell then
