Guido Writes, Downing Street Deletes
Nice to know that despite the change of regime from Blairites to Brownies, Guido still has a following in Downing Street (Wegg-Prosser and Matthew Taylor were avid Guido readers).
Yesterday morning Guido mocked Brown's speech where he innumerately claimed that a billion people were a third of humanity. The posted linked to the speech transcript on the Downing Street website.
Within an hour of that post being published, some modern day successor to Winston Smith had deleted the wording from the transcript. Doubleplus ungood malquote.
You see if they delete it from the transcript record, Gordon never made the mistake. Just like when Gordon says he will bring a "thousand troops home for Christmas", the Sun will report a thousand of our boys coming home for Christmas. We have always been at war with Eurasia... our glorious forces have achieved a total victory in Basra...

nice one guido, come to think of it alot of things have been cut and pasted out of public knowledge for nu labours propoganda purposes.
i hear millibands in trouble , saw him put up a good initial bluster for eu opener , although the late delvery of papers at 11:45 this morning to the house was disgrace (should have been with mps before christmas). he was caught out by previous EU treaty which states that papers should be given in adiquate time !! deputy speaker did not see fit to uphold this. milliband made useual petchulant boy speeches, redwood and gummer did well as did gisela and an other lab back bencher.
then william haig , cameron and osbourne turned up , haigs opening salvo was unmissible , millibands face was that of someone whose contemptable speech was shown up for what it was , utter crap !!
he was outclassed .
however lab majority got it through 1st reading.
its a contempt and disgrace now no doubt about it , there is no debate its a sham.

anyway English is not the language of the internet - about a year ago best estimate was that just under half of internet posts were in English, Spanish is probably the biggest language now, and just wait till China gets properly going
You were up late last night Guido writing up your latest score. Re EU Treaty Debate (Read all about it... Labour victory). I heard on RADIO 4 that the NuLabourites had been assisted by Speaker 'Mad Mike' Martin using a few tricks on an amendment.
NuLabour and the boy wonder Millipede had better realize that it was only the second reading - there's a lot more to come. I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THEM.

Read Kaletsky's 'Epistle to the Treasury Fuckwits'(see link on right).
Kaletsky has been a Brown cheerleader for years - bloody fuckwit Murdoch mouthpiece. St Anatole has had a damascene conversion to the reality of the destruction of the UK economy Gordon's moronic dithering and indecision.
His other cheerleader Irwin Stelzer(Murdoch's US economics lapdog) has written a stinging critique of Brown's serial incompetence in this week's Speccie.
Brown's public reputation is well and truly fucked.
Come out Gordon. Np place to hide.
This is fantastic! Am just waiting to see the economic mistakes of the last ten years attributed to a mixture of Alistair Darling and Ken Clarke. There's every chance that Brown might be even better at this newspeak thing than Blair.
I would like Vince Cable to be appointed as emergency Chancellor. It is such a waste that an honest man of such capabilities and with a brain the size of a planet is stuck in the wrong political party - a bit like Ryan Giggs playing for Wales, never able to realise his full potential on the big stage. Perhaps the Tories could have a word in his ear. I would hate to see him dragged into a sordid Brown-Clegg "last throw of the dice" coalition. Vince, your country needs you!
Remember, we can't be sure of the past, only the future is certain under Labour.
Does anyone have an audio record of the words he actually spoke? Yes Minister has been there already, identifying the writing of the post-event transcript as more important than the speech. "One writes the words the minister would have wanted to have said" is approximately how Sir Humphrey put it. Of course, that was a humorous satirical fictional TV series, whereas the No 10 Dopwning Street site is an....errr...ummm...

Sadly, yes they do.
I watched the last hour of the debate last night. Just about all the reasoned argument came from the "antis" of all parties.
The only worthwhile "pro" speech came from Ian Taylor (Conservative), and he deplored the failure of the government to make any positive case in favour of the "treaty".
Jim Murphy's closing speech was an insulting farago of waffle and irrelevancies. How does such a moron become Minister for Europe?
Few people read their crap websites anyway - we know it is just lies and self congratulation. Scores of PR anoraks hired for millions of pounds - they are a deadweight loss to the UK economy.
"Tosspots shall speak lies unto tosspots."
Both Milibands are freak shows because their dad was one to (If you think No 10's website is unreadable, try one of RALPH Miliband's books - they are like listening to Lee Grasper without the fun of playing "spot the evasion").
On Thursday 1st of May the FTSE 100 closed at 4445 The Conservatives in control.
At the moment FTSE 100 is 5394 that is only 949 points up in 10.66 years.
Not a lot.
At the rate the market is going since December 31st 2007 when FTSE 100 was 6456.9 I have calculated should hit this in 14 trading days.

geordie: "would like Vince Cable to be appointed as emergency Chancellor"
Did it ever occur to you that (in common with most smart LibDems) Cable is a LibDem because he knows he would be out of his depth in government office ?
Such a pity Milliband, Darling, Smith, Brown, Balls, Hawk, Brewer, Stewer, Cobbley etc do not have Cable's degree of insight.
A marketing opportunity was missed when Ralph Milliband's deranged book on Socialism was not printed onto soft, aborbent paper.
Perhaps continuing falls in Sterling, and the stock market will bring forward the day when McBean is sectioned by the men in white coats.
Perhaps Brown was photoshopped into the pictue of the happy smiling soldiers.
Just Fancy that -

I was going to say that. Only in a slightly more pleasing way, of course.
So I'll content myself with observing that mendacem memorem esse oportet.
Look, everbody is being jolly unfair, Mr Kaletsky in particular.
We may believe that collapsing asset values and catastrophic monetary, fiscal and regulatory mismanagement are the critical issues of today. But NuLab clearly know different - make cooking lessons compulsory in the 15% of schools that don't offer them due to lack of facilities and all will be well.
Let them eat cake! shrieked Lady Snotgobbler as she reclined upon her throne at the durbar, showering imperial largesse on the cowering sepoys.
It's the same syndrome as the deletion of "absolute bollocks" from Hansard on the order of mad Gorbals Mick in a discussion on troops equipment. The reason was that the recording was unclear. I've heard it - it was perfectly clear. Obviously this grotesque government does think we are all stupid, and I'm beginning to think we are - most people are just sleepwalking to oblivion, more concerned about their Sky telly, chips, beer and fags than anything that really matters.
Yes, "redaction, redaction, redaction".
Blair would be proud.
Further to Walkden Moor if one applies RPI to the market figures it should be about 6100 just to accommodate inflation, (to be fair - ignoring income received over the period)
On the subject of the Ministry of Truth and the use of newspeak this bunch of lying gits is the best so far. Classics like 'investment' for spending my fucking money, or 'let me be absolutely clear' i.e. not clear. And CPI vs RPI, And the bloody Iraq dossier and 'government' rather 'public' moneyt and so it goes on. Some aught to do a study on it all.
That really is a terrifying precedent to set historically, not to mention a gigantic waste of money to have some goon monitor your blog so he can edit his bosses speeches after the fact.

Well come on. You didn't expect him to count black people, did you?
Walkden Moor
Calculating a proper RPI would be a worthwhile project.
Anyone who lives in the real world knows that the official 2.1% inflation figure is utter tripe because insufficient weighting (or in the case of mortgage interest, NONE AT ALL) is given to the elements you quote.
I wish you well.
This is nothing new. Gordo and his spin 'meisters' have always assumed that the great unwashed are incapable of reading one of his interminable sermons in its entirety, preferring to publish an 'official' version online, mysteriously missing the verbal tics, regurgitated announcements and double accounting we have come to know and love from his 'live' appearances.
It's nice to see that the BBC is pedalling the biggest Labour Lie of all i.e. "The UK economy is essentially sound and we're all jolly lucky to have such a capable man as Gordon(he of fiscal prudence !!!!) at the helm at this difficult time !"
And as "The Titanic" sank beneath the waves the orchestra played on

It wasn't that it was unclear but that they couldn't establish who actually said it.
Good Garland cartoon in today's DT.
Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty five billion, result misery.
Just like Nixon who would simply state that he had "miss-spoke" himself and then substitute what he should have said for what he had said. One is led to wonder what other traits of Nixon's Brown shares.
RPIX (RPI excluding mortgage interest payments) as the inflation parameter was introduced by Norman Lamont.
CPI (to run alongside RPI and RPIX) was introduced by Kenneth Clarke.
The methodology (i.e. the basket of goods and services) has remained the same for many years. Only a few items have changed (e.g. we didn't have DVDs 20 years ago).
So glad you're maintaining standards, Guido. Politicians and Party apparatchiks are woefully sloppy/ignorant. I had a letter from CCHQ the other day which said "we hope you had some incite"
Referring to A Kaletsky's piece - I quote :
"The Northern Rock bailout will demolish or, at best, discredit the entire economic policy framework created in 1997. Since the creation of this framework was his one unquestionable achievement, it seems fair to say that Mr Brown's career as a serious politician ended yesterday."
The creation of the 'economic framework' is not at all an 'achievement'. This is because it is totally flawed. Let me repeat why.
Now that nuliebour has scrapped cl 4.4 they have no core philosophy. Every bit of their history and beliefs is based on the central tenet that in all things including the ownership and direction of the means of production, finance and management the state knows best. This cl4.4 moment is an admission that it absolutely does not. Once Cl4.4 is gone everything else follows it down the pipe. All they can espouse is some form of touchy feely softy wafty girly nonsense. Usually couched in the worst type of marketing speak. If you do not believe me just go and read the replacement text for Cl4.4
But clowns like Brown cling on to the idea that the State (i.e. him) does know best. This dilemma is central to the fiscal fiasco that nuliebour has created. They have been trying to reconcile the irreconcilable and the mad change to FS regulation in 1997 is a clear testament to this stupidity. And of course the unforseen consequence of all this is the creation of ever bigger private monopolies and cartels as well as overweening quangos. I ask you, why if Socialism is supposed to be so good for the working man does it always curtail his freedoms and make the rich richer?
Brown is not an efficient administrator, he is not charismatic, he is not fiscally prudent. What he is a very clever and ambitious man too small for the role he now inhabits whose credibility is based entirely on the success of Callaghan/Thatcher/Major (and the end of the Cold war). He has very simply spent shed loads of money, much of it capital, badly. He has bought his 'credibility' with our money, and now the Emporer can be seen to have no clothes.
The Labour Party's version of socialism died with Cl4.4, it's just that many people don't know it yet. Of course the apparatchiks, the Millibands, The Blairs, the Ballses etc know this. This is why they use Newspeak. They have no other way of staying in power. They are empty men with empty philosophies. All their ambition is is to be in power and to personally profit from it. If this was not the case why would they need such a massive spin machine to represent their ideas? Surely if their ideas were any good they would sell themselves.
Kaletsky says that we suffer these financial upsets every 15 years or so and asks why. May I suggest that it is the conflicts created by the hypocrisy that is Labour/nuliebour that is central to this?
Oh, it's all very well us gloating at the final revelation of the myth of nuliebour but in the process of this exposure they have impoverished us. Destroyed our pensions, stolen our savings and taxed our pay to penury.
I curse them and all their works.
Walkden Moor.
Here's how the inflation figures are fiddled.
1/ Hedonic adjustments. For example technology, if the price stays the same yet the chip is faster they claim this is deflationary!
2/ Timing of weighting. If something goes up in price they wait until it's topped of before increasing it's weighting in the inflation basket, any falls in the price are now much much more deflationary.
I would think a lot more of these cnuts if they admitted their mistakes. Why couldn't the transcript say "A third of humanity (error rectified: a sixth)".
It's no big deal, but treatment like this might restore a little public confidence in their statistics.
Damn, I just gave them an idea.
To anon at 10.11, what a cheering thought! So while the cunts are reading:
To Gay Gordo:
You have been rumbled as not only the most incoherent, inarticulate, innumerate holder of a Cabinet post (and I include Lord George Brown in this assessment) that has been inflicted on the British people, but the most mendacious, traitorous piece of shit that has ever occupied the office of Prime Minister (and I include Saint Tone of Bliar, who taught you so much, in this assessment).
Not only are you heedless of the requirement to put the interests of the people first, they don't even come in a poor fifth behind your own, your party's, the EUSSR's and the immigrants' you can get in to vote for you.
Since you do not even see fit to show your true self to the public, and surround yourself with fawning lickspittles such as the odious Andy Marr (how are things at home Alison?), may I suggest that to avoid the further humiliation of a good kicking all the way to your landslide defeat in the next election, you gather up your beard, your nappies and your rocking-horse, and fuck off back to Kirkaldy, see if you can't get a non-job on the public tit up there. You know it makes sense, humiliation is not something you handle well as be both know, and spending more time with your "family", whichever that may be must appeal surely?
Come out Gordo, and fuck off.

That is deflationary. They compare like with like, i.e. a chip with the same speed would be cheaper.
"2/ Timing of weighting. If something goes up in price they wait until it's topped of before increasing it's weighting in the inflation basket, any falls in the price are now much much more deflationary."
They are not that clever.

> That is deflationary. They compare like with like, i.e. a chip with the same speed would be cheaper.
Not really deflationary, as the OS uses up the speed gained. The avergae purchase price of a computer would be a much better guide. Can you type twice as quickly becuase your processor is twice as fast? No. Technology gains above a certain level are only marginally deflationary, as the bottleneck is the person using the computer.

Select Committee on Culture, Media and Sport Fourth Report
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusions and recommendations
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. It is not immediately clear to us why the BBC Trust takes different views on transparency of employee costs and on transparency of talent costs, and why grouping of payments in bands for one but not the other presents data protection or breach of confidence issues. (Paragraph 4)
2. We are surprised that the BBC Executive chose to present us with threeminute reach figures for BBC3 viewing, rather than the standard 15minute reach figures used in the Annual Report and Accounts, and we are disappointed that the BBC Executive did not disclose figures on audience share (as well as 15minute reach) when repeats of popular BBC1 programmes are excluded. (Paragraph 5)
3. We believe that it is not reasonable to withhold information about the contribution of the licence fee payer to the Freesat service, although we accept that it may be reasonable to withhold information about the total budget of the joint venture company as commercially confidential. (Paragraph 6)
4. We believe that there should be greater clarity as to who speaks for the BBC on significant policy issues, and we are also concerned that the BBC Executive may be pursuing policy outcomes that the BBC Trust has not yet had the opportunity to consider, approve or oppose. (Paragraph 7)
5. Overall, we are disappointed with the manner in which the BBC has approached its response to our questions. We hope that in future years the BBC will provide a more robust response which makes clear where accountability lies for particular issues, and that the BBC takes advantage of its new governance arrangements to take a more constructive approach to responding to Parliamentary scrutiny. (Paragraph 8)

Nancy Brown, so desperate to fulfill his deranged father's cross-generational ambition; so intent on being the cleverest boy in the country that, listening to - hearing - no voice but his own, droning, year after year, spewing out bent made-up statistics that he turned the nation's economy into a house of cards should come out. He has beggared us at home and shamed us abroad. Nancy Brown, were his unspeakable actions not so criminal, would be the most tragic figure in British public life, ever. Hiding, in Lisbon, signing the Closure of Britain Act all alone; what did he look like?
Nancy Brown; a stuttering, gibbering, paranoid, malformed, maladroit, uncouth, bullying, delusional freak, stumbling, slithering, sliding around desperately, blindly in a nest of vipers. The nation belaboured by the ranting fevered bombast of a closet homosexual with more than one thing to hide. As it is, he and his vile crew of hangers-on should be not only removed but punished. A fantasy spiral of quarters of spurious growth, fueled not by any real industry, invention or application but by irredeemable, lunatic levels of debt; bankers showering themselves with billions of pounds of unearned bonuses; council house building suspended and the housing ladder myth peddled as though it were Holy fucking writ; Yes, you can, in Nancy Brown's dream economy, buy a house for a fiver and next year its worth a million, honest, just watch a property programme, get on the ladder and you can fuel the economic miracle, play your part further by buying worthless imported tat that is out of date before you get it home and was good for fuck all in the first place. Sorry, Nancy, cameraphones, they're really useful for the NewLabour generation of illiterate criminal little fuckpigs to film their assaults on innocent individuals, their knifings of one another. You fucking poisonous degenerate, you, with your ludicrous Amoral Compass and sermonsing voices in your head, you who would goosestep all over our freedom, reduce the quality of life, the public discourse, the temper of the times to filth and violence and squalor and greed and envy; you who would enforce your vile vision through regiments of corrupt mandarins, slag spin doctors, bought cops and judges, by enlisting and promoting and bribing the most unprincipled, thuggish, sticky-fingered, incompetent, jobsworth, ministerial whores in history; and you who cosy-up to vilest slags in Fleet Street, you don't mention their little secrets and they, Andy, don't mention yours; an unspeakable gang of self-protection racketeers; you, Brown, there is nothing worth knowing about to which you are the solution. You should quit and come out before you do any more damage.
Traipsing round the far East with beard, looking like Andy Pandy and Looby Lou, you are preposterous; dressed-up like a maharajah getting a doctorate in water buffalo studies you have the nation in fits of incredulous laughter; grilled, ignominiously, in India, India, about why it is that you're giving the UK to VirginThievesRUs, you shame us all, you fucking useless, incompetent wanker. Why don't you just fuck off out of it and give a heterosexual or a proper homosexual a chance ? Anybody would be better than you. Anybody. You carry on your back a steamer trunk full of blackmail and secrets and slights and fears and masquerades; you hear voices, you jerk, twitch and spasm; you spout a preposterous Victorian piety; your Domestos grin frightens man and child and beast and nobody - aoart from those paid to so do - believes a word you say about anything; not your phony patriotism; your parents; your wife; your phony values; and, least of all, your phony adding-up
Fleet street should have told you this long ago. The brilliant and incisive Mr Anotole Katalepsy, until five minutes ago your fawning praise-singer, is now starting to do so. Had he come here, he would have learned, long ago, the truth of what he now says, belatedly, in his column.
Nancy Brown; author of Prudence, as he describes his lunacy, hectoring, moralising and lying to us, is a vile, deceitful warmongering hypocrite; a conceit of a man, sssheltered, untested by proper work or family life, unchallenged by timid colleagues, swimming in the sewer of dynastic politicians like Ted Cappaquiddick Kennedy, bitching and hissing in an unholy menage a trois with Miranda Blair and the poisonous Peter Mandelson; the fortunes of millions of Britons merely the meaningless backdrop to his own vain, squalid black comedy.
The Queen, the real one, should exercise a prerogative. Go, Brenda, earn your money, go and stand outside Downing Street and shout, Come Out Gordon, Come Out And Fuck Off.

don't shilly shally Stanislav, tell us what you really think
excessive taxation causes inflation especially when that revenue is wasted when gordon for example gives billion pound contracts(for computer systems that don't work) to his american friends. there are lots of examples of gordon helping his friends. did you know gordon holidays in america four times every year. his long term economic adviser is american. sweaty ed balls, alexander 'ballot spoiler' Douglas, the millibands, cooper, nye' all brown's inner cabinet studied and were groomed in america. the truth is that these people are loyal to america, not britain. brown fulfils exactly the same role as blair, he is an agent of american interests.
it isn't a special relationship, it's an abusive one. how very gordon.

I'm afraid it is bollocks and I should know - I work in the elctronics industry. The whole point of introducing new and "improved" electronic products is precisely to push prices UP without anyone really noticing. Hence today we buy digital cameras instead of film cameras, MP3 players instead of tape players, LCD TVs instead of CRTs, and of course Pentium Dual-Core processors instead of 8086s. Still, if you can find a retailer selling brand new PCs powered by 8086s for £10 then you can claim that hedonic adjustments are reasonable, but since you can't the cost of living really is going up as fast as the unadjusted figures suggest.
a referendum is NOT the answr an i will tell you why -
because the rest of Europe will go ahead anyway, and continue to do the salami slicing trick on our country to the point where we end up at the same point anyway.
rather than the rope we get slow strangulation.
the ONLY answer is to get out of Europe for good and have trade agreements only, just like the rest of the world who do not have to spend 10 billion a year to prop up a communist undemocratic imperialistic welfare system where the sucsessfull countries prop up the utterly useless.
it is a communist Europe, also ask yourself, if the french and the Dutch can vote NO and only want a trade agreement as we do how the EUSSR have mangaded to continue walking all over them.
and you think the UK would be different if we just pruned the agreement a little - you are having a laugh - tories lol!
even the jury system is under threat by the EU, meaning pretty son it will be politically oppointed judges deciding on you fate - not the people.
heaven forgbid you actually oppose the EU in such a climate where the EU does NOT understand the word NO.
you should liken us to a previously free range country, not too crowded and a fairly decent way of life producing quality not quantity which is now being replaced as they jam us into battery hen cages and never let us see the light or truth. where we are overcrowded and penned with ever increasing quotas and no rewards, decreasing health care -useing pliers on teeth in 2008! and if anyone should fall foul then you will have your neck snapped or your pay masters simply more to poland. in the meantime expect your cages to get smaller as they cram more and more in - often with deadly diseases, and yes if you complain - yes its neck snapping time for you.
you have just become the chinese model. death camps soon to follow -remeber the states now detain people indefinately and without trial, why wouldnt europe - remeber it doesnt understand the word democracy or NO.
