Guardian Online Doesn't Have Much to Boast About

The Guardian was boasting this week that it has 3.6 million UK users a month. Guido has got the breakdown of those numbers from the online industry's competitive intelligence monitors Hitwise.

In December the Guardian politics pages had some 455,000 UK users, compared to Guido's 305,000 users. Iain Dale is on a similar number. In fact any two of the top five blogs get more British readers in a month than the whole of Guardian Online's politics pages. Something that should be worrying the boys and girls on the Farringdon Road...

Only a BBC brainwashed PC Communist, and the seedy likes of Red Ken livingslime and Grasper would read The Guardian(of shit)

The Times is far more objective and intellectual, and no i don`t vote Tory.

I should think the Guardian should worry more about the fact that 90% of the contributors to its blog pages think Labour and the Guardian are a load of wank and are there to tell them so in person.

Actually I prefere the Shitwise monitor. Simply print the web page wipe your ass with it and count the number flushes to clear the pan.

Questions to the Prime Minister?

Dave, just ask the cunt whose ass has he been stabbing lately - you won't get an answer but you will get my vote and it would finish him off.

Guido - just a thought - more totty please.

Just announced on the Daily Politics. Electoral commision to refer Peter Hain and his contributions to the Met. Excellent!

I used to read the Pollytoynbian until I got bored with reading the same thing every day cunningly disguised under different headlines. Polly knows best, that's why she feeds a dead parrot.

A SCALP FOR GUIDO !!!!

YAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps it's because the British public have realised that the Guardian is no more than the publishing arm of 10 Downing Street. Nothing goes in its pages, or on its website, without it being cleared with the NuLab Government. It is little more than a Pravda for our time.

It is heartening that more and more people are choosing to get their news from Guido - the ONLY source of news that can be trusted.

Yes, but they do have several hundred thousand people paying nearly a Quid a day for this, something you will never be able to achieve..

Guido claims a scalp!!!!!!!!!!!!
I applaud you sir.
The shyster work and pensions minister has resigned.
but enough congratulations, what I want to know is who's next?

Strip out the sport and CiF and it looks pretty dire.

The readership of all online papers is declining both in relative and absolute terms as surfers use information aggregators such as Digg, Netvibes and sites such as this. You don't have to be loyal to any single site.

The Guardian does have beautiful navigation, and CiF is the most popular politics discussion board.

Its the Telegraph that ought to be worried. Its articles rarely get more than a few comments. Nothing it posts get the 200+ posts that the the Guardian can frequently boast.

Worst of all will be the FT. I mean, who gets their stock information from a newspaper? Serious investors will use ADVFN.com. Even Yahoo Finance does the job.

The finances of major sites would be interesting. Does GuardianUnlimited make a profit? How could it?!

Without being sycophantic, sites such as Order-Order are the wave of the future: highly niche, highly well informed and very fast to react. User interactive too!

I only visit the Guardian's CiF pages to tell them they are fucking berks.

Which they are.

He would if the government started advertising its jobs on order-order.com

Polly Toynbee lives in a £3million mansion in Hampstead and went to public school. "Let them eat cake" she cried.

perhaps I am thick but are they not giving you a whipping by about 150,000 users?

anon 3.52, yes, you are thick. guido is a one man band, the guardian is manned by dozens of new labour war party lickspittles.
another new labour troll who is too scared to post a name. so quick to send other people's children to war and yet you haven't even got the guts to post a name.
what a spineless cunt you are!

Um, the Grauniad's subsidised offices have a gazillion journos creating all kinds of tripe and still the only reason anybody goes to their site is to tell Polly Toynbee what a deluded old tart she is.

Order-order is just one bloke and his fan club kicking up a stink about the corruption of the political establishment, of which the Guardian is very much a part. Imagine what he could do if he had the resources of the Guardian? The whole stinking edifice would be destroyed within a year.

As a kid I delivered papers for many years, I'd read them all on the round.

We had the Telegraph at home and it was always the one I enjoyed most. Lately it has become dire and I will not pay money for it. You can't comment on their articles, unlike the Times and they never 'print' anything I write, unlike the Times, must think my psuedonym is rude or something, they never publish my comments on their blog but every inane piece of shit that freak Hazel Tree (Blears) writes. Bollocks to them, it's a shit paper with a shit blog that seems to have gone over to the communist fuckwit side.

I hate the fucking Times too, on the basis that Murdoch owns it and he's a rich enough cunt as it is. It's not a bad read though and the comments are at least as interesting as the paper.

Fuck me what halfwit would read the Guardian, it used to be dull but worthy, now it's full of journalists, (give them credit where it's due) that make Pravda look like rank amateurs. As for their 'hits', as others have commented, we're all there to take the piss out of Toynbee, Ashley, Milne and all the other mad cunts. The commenter Wooo is seriously insane. I was deleted once but I never swear there ;-)

This blog is the bollocks, it's not even what Guido writes half the time, sometimes I don't even read the articles, sorry Guido! the comments and regulars are the gems, welcome back Stanislav. Hello 45, Red, et all.

I read the blog the day you rumbled Hain, I think you can fairly claim that head, the problem is the bastards keep coming back or piss off to that trough in the sky, the Euroviet Union. Not much of a punishment.

With the greatest respect... total bollocks. The Torygraph regularly racks up 300 posts on hot topics. A few of them are mine.

There is an upside to CiF - I just discovered Guido from a poster over there.

I read on with interest...
