Trevor Kavanagh is the sage of Wapping. Today his regular Monday
Sun column says definitively
“Gordon will never govern in his own right as an elected Prime Minister.”
Trevor Kavanagh appears to have done an about turn. Cast your mind back a few months (
Monday, July 23rd) Kavanagh told us equally confidently that
“Gordon Brown is going to win—and win big. In the process he will likely set Labour up for a fifth term and 20 unbroken years of socialism.
Guido suspects that Mystic Meg's job on the Sun is safe...

In reply to Trev's July article some bloke called "Og" posted the following on July 23rd.
"Kavanagh obviously thinks that the economic cycle has been abolished. Well, Trev, it hasn't. At some stage, perhaps quite soon, economic conditions in Britain will deteriorate. This may coincide with a correction in house prices (another area which is cyclical). It may coincide with a consumer credit crunch. It may even coincide with stagflation, though that is less likely. Brown is toast when middle England starts to really hurt. The Tories are laughably ineffective right now, thanks to Dave's liberal outreach programme, but I trust them to pull it together and act as a proper opposition when Brown's economic chickens come home to roost."
Give the man a coconut
He was right both times.
If the big feartie from Fife hadn't bottled it and called an election during his brief honeymoon period then that would have resulted in a big Labour win and put the Tories into a coma.
But he did bottle it and now it's too late to hide. We can all see him for the controlling, scaredy-cat, bogey-eating, Stalinist, lying, arrogant little piece of ordure that he is really is. That will also be reflected in the polls and is no longer avoidable.
Brown has taken Labour from a historic command to a historic collapse in a few short weeks. Way to go numpty!
I love the Sun! Their so-called political team has consistently got its facts wrong. Remember the front page story that the last election would be on May 31 - written by George Fiasco Watson?
Think they should stick to what the Sun does best: producing a decent pair of tits - but enough about Kavanagh and his sidekick Watson.
Kavanagh is having a laugh if he believes Brown's / new Labour's policies resemble anything close to socialism. The massive diversion of taxpayers' funds into the private purse that is PFI and the wholesale privatisaition is conservatism gone mad.
The true "tipping point" will be when Murdoch decides that Brown is a "loser" and a certantity to lose the next election. At that point "The Sun" will change its' allegiance overnight.
The question is - Are Kavanagh's remarks indicative that such a shift in support is being contemplated ?

edit of above comment!
Dirty European Socialist, where are you when we need you?
The Sun= total bollocks. TKav is an enigma- he is 'his master's voice' contrasted with SOME political/social insight. Tkav's problem is that both NuLab and NuCon stand for f'all except keeping the 'dirty digger' in clover- so he's in a bit of a pickle as to who to 'support'. TKav may like to think The Sun has some influence as to how people will vote- maybe... Ineffective on me coz i sure as sh*t won't be bothering! Why? No govt will ever offer a vote on EU membership; no government will really place a limit on immigration; no government will really actively seek to remove ALL illegal immigrants; no government will significantly reduce taxes for low-paid people.
Guido, how much does Kavanagh get paid for this toss? Somebody should shout in Murdoch's ear that he is getting very poor value for money. I'm sure there are plenty of contributors here who would happily write toss for a tenth of what Kavanagh trousers. Although I happen to think most who contribute here far are more astute.
How about getting Stanislav his own column in the Sun? Bet he'd do it for minimum wage, too....
In a country where being wrong BIG TIME gets you more respect and quite often more money then being right. We should not be surprised about any completely stupid uninformed nonsense thats spouts from this countries media.
In the completely different planet world of the British media being wrong, easily manipulated, and very skilled at lying your way out of your exposed bullshit position. Is the best qualification there is for the top job. If a slime ball over ambitious balding lying idiot becomes really good at it, he may one day end up getting Nick Robinson's job.
To be fair to Trevor, he does apologise for this, saying that he made this prediction on the assumption, reasonable at the time that Brown would actually call the election, which the Brownies had spent the preious 6 months planning in detail.
Even now it's amazing that Brown bottled it, although perhaps less so as we learn more about it character, or lack of it.
I read the sun website today for the first time in a while. They is a far far far more interesting article involving Page 3 winner idol winner Miss Webster soaping herself down in the bath. I know which one i would rather pay attention too.
Go away you tedious bearded tabloid hack. We want more sexy boobies not annoying boring old farts who change their mind as often as we **** over the page 3 babes.
All those who agree say I.
First anonymous nailed it. When the impending - and seemingly inevitable - economic disaster(s) kick in and Middle England starts feeling the pinch, Brown and his government will be toast.
If Brown's government cannot hold it together in a period of relative economic calm, what chance do they have when the seas become choppy (shite metaphors, I know)?
Change of mind by the guy who decides the political line prehaps?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7110532.stm
(Well it must be true it on Auntie Beeb)
The fact is that Trevor Kavanagh despises the incompetent, lying useless, Brown even more than Brown despises him.
There's been no love lost between those two for quite some time. Trevor is just gagging to really put the boot in.
He might not have much longer to wait and won't it be fun!!
We got a sense of what the Sun wants to do, with the Skip to the Loo thing with Alas Darling. But you just know that come the election they really want to do a toilet, with Brown's head sticking out the bowl and a banner headline saying "Flush Gordon".
Go on Mr Murdoch - let your boys off the leash. Let's get them fighting fit again.
Camus is having a laugh if he thinks people haven't woken up to the fact that the whole point of PFI, from nulabs point of view, was to enable them to get their cronies who benefited from PFI deals, to channel money back to nulab.
Why do you think dodgy property dealers from the north east go to the troulble of hiding their tracks !!!
Anon. 12:59 said "The true "tipping point" will be when Murdoch decides that Brown is a "loser" and a certantity to lose the next election."
It's already happened. The erstwhile soft-focus treatment of G. Brown by the Times & esp. Sunday Times has gone. And Brookes's cartoons are becoming ever more savage.
Brown is adrift, being plotted against, going bonkers. Has he realized what is blindingly obvious to everyone else -- he simply isn't up to the job?
backwoodsman
Another NuLab scam is the annual donation of £12million or thereabouts in taxpayers money to the trade unions of which around £8million is given back to NuLabour as "donations"
For dirty european socialist:
I
Mr Kavanagh looks remarkably similar to the cartoon of the chap who gave a lot of money for someone else to the Labour Party. Are they by any chance the same person? I think we should be told!
Already doing mock-ups, for a larf:
"Flush Gordon (it's what you do with the Brown stuff!)"
"Flush Gordon (he's already gone round the u-bend!)"
and our particular favourite:
"CUNT!"
The polls are simply wrong. Gorgon didn't call an election because he discovered the polls were wrong and that he would lose. That was when the polls said he was 10% ahead in some cases. So if he was going to lose when the polls were 10% ahead and he hadn't done anything wrong - where would he be now, after the fiascos of the last few weeks and polls showing them 5% behind? The Sun has merely clicked on this fact - that Labour are actually in meltdown and if an election was called today the Tories would win by a landslide, whatever the polls might say. The polls are a good 15% out. The Tories are streets ahead, Murdoch has realised it and he is desparately turning the bandwagon around to join the Tory circus. Another 2 years of Gorgon with economic collapse and the Tories will be 20-25% ahead. You have younger folk putting the Tories 17% ahead already, which means that once Labour are kicked out they are going to have one hell of a job convincing younger people to vote for them. The demographics will turn against them after each election. Two more years and we will see the end of Labour for ever.

Perhaps, dear anonymous, the tipping point has been achieved. I think the Sun and other murdoch papers will become supportive of Cameron and his team when they promise a referendum on membership of the EU!
This was a 'come on' to Cameron.
banana - "Another NuLab scam is the annual donation of £12million or thereabouts in taxpayers money to the trade unions of which around £8million is given back to NuLabour as "donations"
". Has this not yet been raised by Dave at PMQs? Or has he been told not to, as they want Brown around and in charge for the next election?
Increasing numbers of Labour MPs are only just beginning to realise what many of us have known for years: namely that Gordon Brown is a turd.
What they are now trying to decide is whether they should try to polish this turd in the vain hope that it can shine or, simply do what most of us would do, flush it down the toilet.
I predict England will not be going to the European Champoinship in the summer..

I'm not great friend of TK or GPW, but it's in the nature of political punditry that we get it wrong sometimes. Guido predicted there would be charges in the loans for lordships affair and that Blair would "do an Aznar." I predicted that Miliband would be Chancellor. Even Mike Smithson is now speculating that Gordon will be dumped by Labour before the election. The truth is, we don't know, but it's fun to speculate.
Guilty on one charge, said only it was possible that he would do an Aznar.
On that score Guido it's 'possible' that you'll accurately report a story one day. Possible, but unlikely. Very, very unlikely.
TalkSport radio are taking bets on Brown being out by Xmas.
Personally, I think he'll stagger on until spring, then, with house prices crashing, the pound sinking and Labour miles behind in the polls, Macavity Brown will quietly retire through "ill health".
For the record my teddy is called Lembit.
Did Rupert tell Trev to say that?
GB's got dozens of published horoscopes.
Anyone taking odds Mr. Brown will end up in prison?
His 2007 solar return (cast for the birth place) has Spica on the ASC and Arcturus (Good fortune, with many cares and anxieties through own folly - Robson). The star Baten Kaitos is setting in the SR chart, and this star is associated with shipwrecks. Given the loaded house of self undoing (natal), this looks to be a significant year for Mr. Brown.
Tom.
With the highly see-saw chart, possibly a padded cell? imprisonment might not be from unlawful conduct, can be other things, although with politicians, unlawful conduct is generally more prevelant.
Granny
Looks like a coded open letter to the bogey-biter. Uncoded would read something like;
Mr Brown,
You will have noticed over the weekend the Australians decided, to elect a new Prime Minister.
You will also have noticed that this happened even though the incumbent had delivered a decade of apparent economic stability, and the (younger) challenger giving the electorate no real idea about what change he would offer, if any. No matter. My endorsement of Rudd practically sealed the deal.
Now, as long as you do as you're told, I'm sure Trevor has no problem with reverting back the stance he took in July.
Sincerely,
Rupert
W o a r,
just wait till Mystic Meg predicts gordo will be wearing one of those stylish rear opening waistcoats, then we'll know for sure that Murdoch believes nulab are a gone case!
Forget all hopes of this or any of the fuckwitts resigning, they don't resign.
They get dragged kicking and screaming from office.
Has been the case since day one, and will be till the end.
And I for one am looking forward to the next two years of New labour disintergrating before our very eye's.
It's the best show in town, it's got everything, comedy, tragedy, unrequited love, mental illness.
Shakespeare would have been proud to have written it.
Whens the next episode, and are they planning to show an omnibus edition on a Sunday?
W.W.
i still want to know what trev said to milliband at labour conference followed by suns winston/gordon photoshop picture.
for the most part trev is pretty bright, but how do you judge this john major territory , mishandling , making a mockery out parliment , i mean weve only had 4 months of plague pestelence and finacial disaster.
there just has to be a time when its flush gordon , but what about the other defectives that are on the payroll . flushing gordon will make the problem a one turd issue , when its a mutiple turd issue.
i dont think weve heard half of it yet , there appears to be criminality on a big scale going on .
beaurocratic over reach , then reach for the chain .
They will have to extend the news soon just to get labours bad news on.Its so funny
When Gordon leaves Downing Street it will probably be in a fucking ambulance.
For Trevor Kavanagh to associate Gordon Brown with "socialism" just shows what an utter fool he is. Real socalism has never yet existed anywhere, and Brown hopes it never will. Gordo is obsessed with money and elitist control — neither of which have any place in a true socialist society. If by "socialism" Kavanagh means capitalism under state control, can someone please tell him to refer to "state-run capitalism", and not "socialism", which is something else entirely.
Stanislav remember listening to BBC World Service back in 80s, Clare Short was saying the Sun was a piece of filth, should have presses smashed and Murdoch lynched up by testicles. Norman Tebbit, MP for Telecom and News International, said Oh, come now, nice pair of teenager tits is just a bit of fun, now; who could object to that? Ho ho ho.All men of the world, Good clean fun. Rancid moneygrubbing arsehole.
A quarter of a century on, UK is cesspit; not liberal, sophisticated, polite and mature and sexy, like Dutch; just smutty, like Jonathan Ross. The Sun led the way for the Star, the Sport, Richard Desmond and that deformed little prick who owns Birmingham City FC, David Sullivan. And countless others. Horribly corrosive effect on UK society, young and old. Stanislav hate censorship but hate also that can't open many so-called newspapers without reading of gang rape, anal rape, granny rape, kiddy rape, animal rape; page after page of degrading, unpleasant imagery; mainly degrading to women but - taken as part of daily discourse, rather than more mature pornography or eroticism - degrading to whole society. Premature sexualisation of children, stoking fantasies of the nonce, the wife-beater, the psychokiller and, equally revolting, the Gotcha! approach to the death of hundreds of hapless Argentinians; thousands of roasted-alive Iraqi conscripts. Bold warriors like Larry Lamb and Kelvin Shitmouth McKenzie, talking about patriotism, what a gang of grotesques. The Sun is a worthless piece of shit, Trevor Kavanagh is no Neil Ascherson, no Robert Fisk, no Bill Deedes. If our country is coarser, more violent, less tolerant, dirtier; if our children are no longer safe from sexual predators- and each other- our streets unsafe to walk and our discourse more vulgar and stupid it is in part down to reckless moronic slags like Rebekka fucking Wade and the cuntish pussywhipped sorry arsed New Labour pansybloke of hers and to the obnoxious beardy bully Kavanagh, poncing about Westminster looking like a dodgy geography teacher and scribbling, in words of two syllables, what Murdoch tells him. A good headline would be that this cunt had terminal skin cancer. And that it was the Sun wot did it. Horrible fucking bastard.
I've always maintained that Brown would serve just long enough for the Zionists to ruin his reputation and put one of their own in, as they have with Sarkozy. I fear we are looking at a takeover in the UK as the US suffered in 2000. We are entering very dangerous times when we are to be used for the purposes of a greater Israel and Zionism.
Stanislav, How could you forget Campbell.........It was he who started it all.
Are they all idiots at the Sun? Just heard some bloke called Wooding on Radio 5 saying all people in council houses are broke! The Beeb's been flooded with complaints - bet Ms Wade will be pleased!
