Security Confusion
Basher Davis doesn't miss a trick. He is now putting the boot in to Lord West, the wild GOAT is clearly unaware of "the line to take" sent out daily by Labour HQ. Lord West always seems to be prone to saying the opposite of what the government wants him to say. It is government policy to frighten the beejesus out of us to justify ID cards, locking you up without trial etc.
The head of MI5 was given the green light to give a speech to the Society of Editors on just this subject, warning us that there are some 2000 Al Qaedas under the beds. Davis contrasts this with what the simple sailor Security Minister said on the weekend -
"On 5 November, the Head of MI5 publicly set out the 'growth' in the domestic security threat, saying 'I don't think that this problem has yet reached its peak', explaining that 'we will not be able to cover every potential threat'. Lord West says we face 'a steadily declining threat', claiming that our counter-terrorism defences are 'ahead of all countries in the world on the protection front'. It is not likely to enhance public confidence when the head of the Security Service and the Security Minister give such inconsistent assessments."
The government's inconsistency is everywhere, this odd apology (click to enlarge) from the Home Office to Greg Hands MP bemused Guido. It goes some way to increasing our understanding of how we have 2,000 Al Qaeda terror suspects in the country.The Home Office is sorry it is taking so long to process Hany Youssef's application for permanent residence.
Given that MI5 says Hany Youssef has been involved in terrorism “at the highest level”, and that he appears on the list of Al-Qaeda suspects at the UN and the EU, is his application for indefinite leave to remain in Hammersmith that much of a priority?
Guido has a suggestion for this joined-up-government: "Don't rush"...

Am I being racist if I say I think my security would be enhanced if Mr. Youssef was put on the first plane back to his country of origin, and we'll inform him of the decision from there ?

2,000 is not even the tip of the Jihadi iceberg in the UK. How could it be?
No-one knows the figures. Thats the problem when you don't count people in or out & you allow liberal lefties loaded with bags of moral equivalency & oikophobia to set immigration policy.
Al Qaeda have used our none existent immigration controls, & our Asylum Seeker addiction, to great effect.
I am sure that there many cells sitting in council houses all over the South East & the North East waiting for their go codes.
And when we do suffer a mass attack, which we will, I hope we all remember the traitors who alllowed the enemy to thrive amongst us.
If the government and MI5 really believe there are 2,000 Al Qaeda 'terror suspects' in our country then they should arrest them. 2,000 terrorists, all potential suicide bombers, could kill at least 20,000 of us and injure many more. This is equal to 1st July 1916. What possible reason can there be for allowing 2,000 'terror suspects' to walk the streets? Of course, it all rather depends on how one defines a 'terror suspect'.

Assuming that the July bombers represent a % of the total number of immigrants and asylum seekers in London you can multiply the figure by the number in the whole country and work out approximately how many terrorists there are in the UK.
Then you multiply the number by two or three to get the number of supporters and spouses.
Then you add a zero to shit everyone up and justify creating a fascist police state.

The answer is no, I go back as far as Attlee, and I can say without doubt, for the last 10 years this government has been run by the poorest lot of politicians that I have seen. Sub-prime government for sure.
It could take 2 to 3 decades to right the many ill thought out policies that this government has inflicted upon us.
I find it hard to understand why they still get over 30% support in the polls.

Thats probably a mix of the size of the electorate who are now working for Neo Labour in the Civil Service & all those grateful Roman Catholic Polish immigrants who now qualify to vote.

Wouldn't be surprised to learn that Mr Youssef now had a job as Gordon Brown's security guard. In Brown's opinion, at least Al Queda wouldn't be complaining about medical care/housing/ammunition etc.
I was amused from the top of the letter to note that there is an "MPs' Correspondence Section"`at the Immigration and Nationality Diectorate - flaring off more of that untidy pile of taxpayers' hard-earned.
I was grilled at Immigration yesterday as to why I was entering Britain - I think my big mistake was in answering "for work" which seemed to bemuse the chap and prompt a lot of additional questions. Next time I'll say I'm seeking asylum and get waved on through, presumably.

2000 of 'em or not, why is it that the IRA/ETA etc,etc, ad nauseum could get hold of tons of military grade high explosive (c4, semtex,etc) but that the supposed agents of the supposed deadliest, most widespread well-financed terror network EVER, are struggling to home manufacture fireworks grade explosives?.(Quite apt since this is Guido's blog!). Something doesn't quite add up. Perhaps a few of these 2000 are real and the rest are made up. I was really amused by the deadly AL-Q group supposed to be training up here in the Lake district, running around "training" with imaginary grenades and sub-machine guns. Did they make NANANANANANANA--noises while "training" I wonder. Dear God, all those childhood years when I thought I was playing Japs and Commandos and all the while I was being trained as a terrorist. Reg, the resistance is already up and running across the entire world. Check out on GOOGLE the newly formed SIOE (Stop Islamisation Of Europe) and you'll see that many people are taking action. Already they have had a legal demonstration banned by the mayor of Brussels Mr Freddie Thielemans on the grounds that it may 'disturb' the muslim community. 10,500+ signed an online petition calling on the left wing 'mufti' to let the demo go ahead which was refused since the majority of councillors on Brussels City Council are (you guessed it) muslims. Millions died for freedom of speech and the peaceful SIOE demo was denied in the heart of Europe whilst flag burning hate spitting muslims are given the nod. I now know why people who seek refuge in the EU are called ASYLUM SEEKERS.
