Is Harman Trying the "If I Go, You Go Too" Defence?

Guido is having difficulty understanding the maneuvering of the various Labour party players in the scandal. Dizzy is hinting that the source for the Evening Standard's writ attracting story on Mendelsohn is the Harman nominating MP, Kevan Jones. He was seen dining with the journalist who wrote the article in Shepherds the night before. Not conclusive, but interesting nonetheless.

Another Labour source tells Guido plausibly that when Mendelsohn was appointed, Watt (a Blairite sympathiser) offered his resignation. When the Abrahams shit hit the Mail on Sunday fan, Watt was the Brownies designated fall guy. A political firebreak. Harman was to be kept in reserve in case the fires licked at the door of No. 10, hence the noticeable lack of support at the PM's monthly press conference.* So did Harriet encourage Kevan Jones to drop Mendelsohn right in it, thereby protecting herself by linking her fate to Gordon's fundraiser? Not sure if it makes sense, but it makes more sense than the Telegraph's bonkers hint that Abrahams might be a conduit for Mossad money.

With Mendelsohn feeling the intense heat and Brown's campaign manager Chris Leslie giving a bizarre explanation that he tore up a cheque from Abraham's proxy because he thought it dodgy, yet recommended the donor to Harman's people anyway. It gets better, Harman still has campaign debts, which are presumably financed with undeclared loans. Which is dodgy.

Hain's campaign, which according to the wife of a well connected SpAd was derailed by Guido (it was a pleasure), forgot to declare £5,000 given by Mendelsohn. That is Hain's story and he is sticking to it. For now. The police are really going to have their work cut out methinks. At least we have settled one thing, the consensus is that the name for the scandal is "Donorgate".

*The transcript of which on the Downing Street website is suspiciously heavily redacted "on party political grounds" something Guido does not recall happening in the Blair era. Also the usual video record is not available. Guido of course has his own copy to use to highlight a few of Gordon's untruths.

Mendy obviously also wanted to get on the gravy train as he is one of Gordon's campaign donors as well as being a fundraiser...

How come he is so well off he can afford to donate to both Brown and Hain?

To lighten the tone, the newspapera still looks interesting.

I dunno what Gordon's done to the Times, but the lead is the curriculum for under 5s, and none of the columnists or commentators think its worth a mention apart from a lady who thinks GB can turn the Mr Bean jibe to his advantage!

I got up at 5am this morning to read Matthew Norman savage NuLab, but there is a distinct air of pathos in the article.

The Telegraph, well I don't really need to say, do I?

Second story now, in the Times, that Gordon the Moron's campaign team were well in with Mr. Abrahams (does that make me anti-semitic, Mel?). Second story - and actually, as the partne of four kids, the top story on the under-five curriculum is SHOCKING. No doubt they will get citizenship lessons from the age of 2.

The thing we all have to remember about Brown is that he is a total and utter c**t. And quite WHY so many people ever thought anything else is a mystery to me.

So the current shenanigans are a total hoot, and it's time Guido was knighted for services to the country :-)

Cyclops you conspiracy theory loving anti-semitic cunt. Why don't you fuck-off back to the Combat 18 website.
Stories of Mossad money, have been conveniently spread by "a Labour source" according to the Telegraph. Which means it is a red-herring that is trying to claim that Labour are poor innocent victims of those nasty Joooos, rather than, just the bent bastards who run the Labour Party. It's disgraceful, that the Labourgraph, is headlining this on Labour's behalf.

The simpleton 'geezer' seems to have his panties in a twist, and rightly so, because thruth does tend to upset those (and their enablers-->geezer) that have been caught red-handed with their hands in the till.

I think our friend cyclops has hit a nerve when the usual suspects' big guns like melanie phillips, and hendon trolls like geezer mobilise and claim the antisemitism card - how absolutely par for the course this is all playing out.

Do remember our war criminal in chief supported the Zionist Neocons to the hilt and dragged us into a war that has nothing to do with us - and that Israeli-corrupted man is currently living now in Jerusalem.

Hain is now admitting to receiving a £5k donation from Abrahams. Doesn't say if it was thorugh an agent.

Slight problem - he failed to declare it due to an 'administrative error'.

What are the chances that the one donation Hain failed to declare was from a guy at the centre of the current problems? Someone who was known by senior members of the party to be dodgy?

Either it's a bizarre coincidence, or Hain was deliberately trying to conceal this donation.

Anonymous said...

The conspiracy theories are getting out of hand. Abrahams is most likely not a conduit for Mossad and more likely a sad old poof with a bit of spare cash. His likely source of wealth is the £8M property portfolio that he sold to his own companies which borrowed from the bank to pay him. Apparently amongst the Jewish Community in Newcastle he is viewed as an oddball - was very close to his mother etc. I just hope that being the Labour Party's third largest donor he had a go on the rocking horse.

dougal said...

I can't help feeling that if Mossad were behind all this, they would have chosen someone a bit brighter than Abrahams?

But I have to admit, as a Jew (tho not a believer - and certainly not a Zionist), that the number of Jews mixed up in this murky business makes me feel very uneasy.

And I certainly don't understand how bombing the shit out of the Iraqis helped Israel - I'm much more persuaded by the argument of an American friend/former military intelligence officer that the US oil/big biz interests were behind all that.

No conspiracy THEORY here about Abrahams and his activities - what we clearly have is a CONSPIRACY.

Who conspired to do what exactly?

Abrahams conspired with members of Nulab up to and including Gordon Brown to give bungs to a plethora of MPs and Ministers via several proxies.

THAT is a conspiracy.

I don't buy the bit that he is a sad old poof, move along now, nothing to see here - this man was clearly a conduit to put Israel uppermost in the minds of NuLab at the very top.

And he was doing this throughout the 90s and 2000s too when Blair was taking us to an illgal war to protect Israel and steal Arab oil- a win win situation for psychopathic war criminals like Blair. Brown supported this policy and still does - he also supports backing Israel or the Americans should they decide to attack Iran.

I would say Abrahams achieved his objective over the last decade - that of embroiling us in war after war to serve interests other than our own.

In view of the names he will no doubt name from his little black book over the weekend I wouldn't be surprised if pressure/blackmail has not also been used in the past, not by Abrahams, but by others who knew of the 'long-standing arrangement.'

Hopefully Knacker Yates this time will not be in a concilatory mood and will go for the jugular.

On the £600K:

"The Times has also learnt that officials from the Electoral Commission have raised doubts privately about Mr Brown’s decision to return Mr Abrahams’s £600,000 in unlawful donations. Commission staff were examining whether it was appropriate for an unlawful gift to be returned to the donor, who could give it back to Labour in his own name. The regulator has powers to apply to a court for an illegal donation to be surrendered to the Treasury’s Consolidated Fund."

I'm not sure where the Telegraph hint that it's Mossad money?

The Telegraph illustrated their article with a photo of David Abrahams with Zvi Hefetz. Hefetz was investigated by the Israeli police in connection with money laundering by Vladimir Gusinsky, a Russian national and Israeli resident, oligarch billionaire and close friend of Boris Berevozsky, the oligarch billionaire living in exile in the UK, who was close to Alexander Litvinenko and himself a frequent FSB assassination target according to SIS.

Draw your own conclusions on all that, but whatever it is, it's more plausible than Mossad.

Talking of the Number Ten website, it is a loathsome propaganda mouthpiece for the prime minister. Naturally, this site should tell us about the history of the building and the office of the PM, but all those creepy, air-brushed pictures of Broon surrounded by schoolchildren make it look like something out of the Labour Party manifesto.

In fact, a cursory look at most of the ministerial websites leaves the impression that the line between informing the public of government policy and party political propaganda has been well and truly blurred. And let us not forget that one or two government ministers have used their departmental blogs to slag off the opposition parties...

Who needs party funding when you can abuse the state's own communication tools?

It is my lowly and unconsidered opinion that the soon-to-be Infamous Press Confenrence Tape is not being suppressed for the PM's lack of support for Ms Harman but for the fact that he 'coughed' the job to the whole wide world at the first interview thus exposing himself to be the incompetent leader that he is.

The kill line was from John Craig (Sky News). Brown was at NEC mtgs where the accounts were signed off and Watt gave a financial report. The video has gone now - somebody is sweating.

Also, following Javelin's advice from yesterday, you can't access the register of data controllers to see if Gordon is the notified data controller for the Treasury because the system is 'temporarily unavailable for technical reasons'.

How inconvenient.

People can contact the ICO and ask for the notification helpline. The lady cheerily says they are able to run a search on demand, so it can't be that technically broken.

Nought point nought per cent of the population, recurring, and I would just point out, because its very important, that that's more than everybody, believes a fucking word I say, Jack told us, very importantly. Fewer people than none believe me when I say there are, or were, definitely WMD; we will not go to war without a second resolution or that I have been entirely faithful to my wife. Absolutely nobody recurring believes a word I say. Not bad for a bloke who invented the sixties, single-handed. And before Queer Bishop Harries comes on with his Whitewash for the Day, John, I know we have known each other a long time, dine together, holiday together, bang the same slappers, but I think it is very important that, in the studio, at least, we observe the formalities, and you address me as Mein Very Important Fuhrer.
