Good Week, Good Night
Guido is looking forward to going off to the panto with young Ms Fawkes tomorrow, which should be almost as much fun as UK politics.
It has been nice to see Vince Cable openly attacking the leader of another party, as opposed to attacking his own for the last few year(s). According to GMTV he has the ambition to dance on Strictly Come Dancing, expect to see Bruce Forsyth staggering with a stab wound soon...
It has also been great fun to see Yates (and Guido) get a second round of Labour funding sleaze to go after. This time with a bit of luck somebody will do time. It is fascinating to see it being blamed on Levy and Blair by Labour MPs. Labour MPs who only a few months ago were denying Levy and Blair were guilty of any wrong doing.
Enjoyed the new Telegraph blogs, one of which bemoaned "where are the bloggers on Donorgate?", before elsewhere cutting and pasting Guido's copy of that Wendy letter without attribution. You saw it here first, there later, so the answer to their question is, "ahead of the Telegraph".
Mad Mel and others now talk darkly of anti-semitism. When Guido was kicking Prescott when he was down it was blamed on class snobbery, mocking Melissa Kite was misogyny - so what was Guido guilty of when he was slagging Blair? Sorry, in reality Guido is an equal opportunities piss taker.
Predictions for next week; more people will be discovered to have been "in the know", therefore more people will have been part of a cover-up, we will re-focus on the fact that at £30 billion and rising the taxpayers are in for £1,000 each to Northern Rock as the property market goes south. Can it really get any worse for Brown next week? It will if Guido has a hand in it...

It just gets better. Eric Moonman, the former Labour MP and mate of Dave Abrahams, came excruciatingly close this evening to outing Brown as a homosexual with a sham marriage live on Sky TV.
It sounded like a warning to Brown and his attack dogs to lay off Abrahams.
I wonder if it will work?
Drip, drip, drip. I suspect next week will be worse again.
All good stuff. And hugely enjoyable, a great big dish of hot schadenfreude. Keep at 'em!
Some interesting pics in the Mail. What's that Straw said about nobody knowing Abrahams?

I like the Sunday morning Panto when *Andrew long stocking Marr * pitches up,let's hope he wheels in Grandad Broon again..
Marr and Robinson have been two cheeks of the *same arse* on this whole episode of the donations
So they should bode well as three ugly sisters
What did Moonman say about Brown?
Enjoy the panto, should be good practice for next week's 'Oh no I didn't'- oh yes, you did!!
The way things are going, has anybody seen Derek Draper? Bernie Ecclestone? Must be due for a sleaze comeback surely.
"Moonman is president of Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland."
I didn't say it, Wikipedia did.
Torygraph - Where are the bloggers??
Audience - Behind you!!
A fine week Guido - hearty congrats and thankies.
Gonna have a decko at My Life in Media over a few JD and cokes.
Enjoy the panto!!
Enjoy the panto but when the kids shout he's behind you I would take a quick look.
When do they wheel Abrahams' rabbi out?
In two television interviews last night, Lord Levy's rabbi claimed that police involved in the cash for honours investigation were leaking information designed to harm Lord Levy and that anti-semitism was an element in the investigation. Yitzchak Schochet, of Mill Hill Synagogue, North London, said that Jews were scared that the inquiry would lead to "one Jew being hung out to dry".
Don't worry: this time there are two. And Mel seemed to think more were on their way.
More and more prominent Jews are being dragged into the smear; I was told this morning that others are now in the media’s sights.

So, are the media selecting them at random? "There's one: drag him in!" Mark my words: this smear's got legs.
ha hah hah ha....
just seen what Harpy H drives - She must be short of the odd quid or too if that's all she can afford. Must be worth , oh, at least £50.
Is it one of those cars which can still only reach 99mph downhill with a following wind.
Well I never!
According to Mr Moonman some very ambitious politicians of "a certain sexual orientation" get themselves wives, and pose as happily married men to help them to achieve their political ambitions.
I wonder if Gordon knows who he's referring to?
In other developments today cheeky chappie Alan Johnson was spotted deep in conversation with Undead stalwart Charlie Clarke.
What could they have been talking about?
you must be that nice Mr abrahams,
An interesting montage in that article. Paul Boateng and Jacqui Smith, in what could well be the the same room, but at different times.
The Jacqui Smith picture may have been taken at the same time as the one on this page.(About two-thirds down the page.)
I wonder if the Robin Ashby in those pictures is the same Robin Ashby who is spokesman of the Northern Rock Small Shareholders Group.
If the C.P.S. had applied the law for the "cash for honours" crimes Labour wouldn't be in the mess they are in now. Oh what a shame!
And let us not forget the 25m identity details floating around on discs in the ether somewhere.
The increasing amount of moolah being flung at Northern Rock is still well worth scrutiny. The really worrying thing is the lack of precise information on this.
No information is scary
Oh and hasn't Ken Livingstone been strangely quiet.
My warmest congratulations on a wonderful week's work.I wonder how Marr and White will explain all this away.
Great week, what a laugh to see Labour stumbling at every jump and blaming each other for their woes.
next week Northern Rock and the HMCR discs will come back to haunt them.
I can hear the whole house chearing as he rides out to the sunset......
Have a nice weekend, Guido. It's been a vintage week.
It's tempting fate to use this image:
David Abrahams hints at frequent meetings with PM
David Abrahams, the secret donor who is facing a police investigation, suggested yesterday that he had met Gordon Brown as many times as he had "eaten porridge" in the morning. Earlier this week, Mr Brown said he "no recollection of any conversations" about donations with the property tycoon, but was sure he had "probably met him on occasion". However, when Mr Abrahams was asked yesterday how familiar he was with the Prime Minister, he told The Daily Telegraph: "You don't remember how many times you've eaten porridge for breakfast."

It's nice to see a few of those 3000 laws Labour enabled biting at their tails, what go around comes around, enjoy the weekend Guido.
Labour MP said that it was like an advent calendar but when you open a new day a new disaster happens
Well done, Guido.
You have monstered the opposition.
Dame Michael? What a cunt.
Bookseller web-site exrtact -So
Good old Gavin
No wonder he is so pleased these days if this is true..
HarperCollins has signed up BBC correspondent Gavin Esler to a two-book fiction deal. The first novel, a political thriller entitled A Scandalous Man, will be published in May 2008. The deal for British Commonwealth rights in the two books was struck with Toby Eady Associates.
Esler was the chief America correspondent for the BBC, and is now one the main presenters of BBC Newsnight. He said: "We have never lived in a more political age-from Iraq and Afghanistan to recycling and global warming. And yet we have never been so suspicious of politicians. A Scandalous Man attempts to explain how we got here."
I've had a marvellous week Mr Fawkes. If only it could be like this more often then we could get rid of the cunts faster.
Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.
The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'.
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.
Guidos off duty a good day to bury bad news to quote someone whos unemployed.
have a good night you earned it and no walks in the country with a penknife please.
Yes well done Guido, you have made Harridan Harperson's life a little less self-confident. I fucking love it!
Here's a simple question. If Mendelsohn and Abrahams were say French, and belonged to an organisation called the Friends of France, and someone pointed this out - would that person be accused of Francophobia?
In re. Moonman's comments about people of certain sexual preferences and sham wives, it should perhaps be remembered that Abrahams is supposed to have had some kind of fake fiancee when he was trying to becoming a Labour candidate. Moonman may well not have been referring to Broon.
Many thanks for a most entertaining week, Guido. Keep up the good work. Have a great weekend and enjoy the panto.

Aye, right, as we say in Scotland, best part of England. No-one could suspect Gordon and his Official wife, Wotsername, of being in a sham marriage. Although it is an easy mistake to make, him being such a screamer. Is this the reason that Sweet Matthew Parris detests him so much ? That Matthew is out and Gordon still thinks he's in? These gay men, what are they like, eh?
ps Welsh is a shit language, sounds like melancholy vomiting.
Stanislav, perhaps it's something to do with the fact that every other person in Wales is called Jones and there is no letter "J" in the Welsh alphabet?
Word verification "cwmvtvmn"
people of certain sexual preferences and sham wives
No, I think he's referring to Gay Gordo and his fag hag. Seems to be a Labour thing.
"Welsh is a shit language, sounds like melancholy vomiting...
Polish, on the other hand...
Newsnight has suggested that Brown tomorrow will take the lead on funding of parties by announcing a change of policy on Labour and the Unions!
As if that will change anything. They will write in an escape clause OR as they have with this legislation IGNORE it.
The conservatives and Lib Dems should watch this like hawks!
Here's a simple question. If Mendelsohn and Abrahams were say French, and belonged to an organisation called the Friends of France, and someone pointed this out - would that person be accused of Francophobia?
Yes. Playing the victim card is a useful way to deflect proper scrutiny. If Muslims were involved, there would be cries of Islamophobia. But no-one plays the victim card like the ones at work now.
Oh for fucks sake, can we drop the digs about the Jews please? It just distracts from the main scandal. I'll be really pissed off if accusations of anti-semitisim allow them to cloud the issue.
Oi! Purple thing.
It is not a distraction from the main scandal, it is a feature of it.
If it is the case that Blair and Campbell cooked up the dodgy dossier as some sort of quid pro quo for pro-Israeli funders and not just out of greed then this is a whole other kettle of saltfish. I don't know what you've been reading but I haven't read any "digs" about "the Jews" but only people making fairly understandable observations about the proximity of so many of the cast of grotesques to the Friends of Israel, to successive Labour fundraisers being pro-Israeli and to Mr Abrahams being pro-Israeli and to NewLabour, alone amongst European parties, colluding in a genocidal assault on Muslim civilians in Iraq, Afghanistan and, with distinction, in Guantanamo Bay, much to the joy, one can only presume, of the hospital bombers in Tel Aviv and the Friends of Israel on Capitol Hill.
Melanie Alibhai Phillips, of course, would suppress any comment which differed from her own poisonous misanthropy on the grounds that anyone not wedded to her own belligerent, half-witted world view, her odious bullying and her unspeakable stupidity is obviously a Nazi; you sound as though you are of the same stripe. It ain't anti-semitism, stupid, it's anti-criminal. But you know that anyway.
ps I thought all Welshmen were called the same thing, Taffy. It is encouraging to learn they have second names, too, bach. Almost like decent English people.
Agreed Sanilav. spot on as usual. Come back cylopaedes, we miss you.
Earlier this week I was overjoyed with the collapse of Brown. Now Im fucking terrified that he's got nothing to lose. Don't rile him up too much Guido. He's stll unexploded ordinanace.
i believe the correct expression, as coined by kinky friedman, is 'equal opportunitioes offender'
keep it up!
:-)
Gay Gordon's not cut out for the top job. He's more suited to being a pantomime dame - he'd enjoy dressing up in women's clothing and by being around young children he wouldn't have to keep gate crashing all the primary schools in the UK.
I don't think anyone is suggesting that the scandal is fuelled by anti-semitism. It's quite clear that it's fuelled by Labour dodginess. Rather, what is being claimed is that some places (Telegraph front page, MPACUK, comments on this blog) are taking an angle on the story based on a stereotype of Jews. MPAC highlighting that the donors involved are "Zionists" and the Telegraph using an unnecessary picture of them with the Israeli ambassador are indications of this. Melanie Phillips is hardly going to defend Labour!
I agree with you Guido that it makes a change for “Brutus” Cable to attack someone other than own leader – although I suspect they made him “acting leader” so he couldn’t backstab himself.
As well as being a backstabber, Cable is a hypocrite because he’s publicly denounced “yah boo” politics [The Observer, 20 Feb 2005] yet indulges in this himself, and when he does so he’s a plagiarist because it was Leo McKinstry who first likened Brown to Mr Bean in his column in the Daily Express on 19 Nov 2007 – link:
