At last a little bit of excitement has developed in the LibDem leadership contest. The Huhnie monsters released a campaign briefing entitled "Calamity Clegg". Guido (of course) has a copy of the now withdrawn document for you to download here.

It sparked a thoroughly enjoyable bit of a clash on the Beeb and a complaint from Clegg to the returning officer that "the older boy is picking on me." Having read the document it actually makes Guido more inclined towards Clegg and his public sector choice agenda.

UPDATE :
Huhne's lot are now saying "Sorry" and asking the returning officer for permission to publish the document. Eh?

Thank the Good Lord for the Conservative Party.

I can see that that is incendiary in Liberal Democrat tems, but goodnes how BORING they all are. I actually couldn't read it all the way through

All political parties are the same. They all think they can run the country but realistically would have difficulty organizing a bunk up in a knocking shop.

A Clegg win is the worst result for the Conservatives. He could actually attract floating voters away from them unlike Huhne who won't to the same degree

Apropos the BBC Politics Show it was a classic moment - John Sopel couldn't believe his luck

Huhne's a nobhead and deserves to lose.

Right, so Gordie hands the Lib Dems the golden ticket by not calling the election, and STILL they manage to fuck things up. Clever. I'm tempted to make a comment on how badly they would run the country but then again the likelihood of that is about the same as Tony Blair joining a one legged Lithuanian dancing troupe.

What a fucking shower the Fib Dems are!

The fact of the matter is that most lentil eating Fib Dem's are not going to vote for somebody who is even slightly "right of centre".

Huhne is gunning for all those "eco-socalists" who would ban cars and return us back to the age of the horse and cart-after he sells the country down the EUSSR river and allows half of Somalia in.

Clegg is too 'pragmatic' to be their leader, afterall the Fib Dem's have a habit of voting in mentally unstable people-like senile fuckwit Campbell and 'too drunk to fuck' Kennedy.......

Bunch of cunts one and all.

BTW-Didn't anybody see Normski Baker's kicking on the AM Show-another fucking crackpot from the Fib Dems which half of GF readers believe!

Ah Thomas, you're the rather angry sociopath with a grudge against Norman Baker - ie: NuLab's best critic. One might almost believe you were yourself a Labour supporter.

Take your mogadon old chap.

The Huhne/Clegg handbags at dawn confrontation was hilarious! Vince Mcmahon should sign those two up for the next 'wrestlemania'. Huhne won on points. Clegg won on hilarious over-reaction!

Clegg's got it in the bag now.

Ahhhh...and you must be from LDC (Lewes District Council) and taking it up the bottom from Uncle Norman.

Perhaps you would like to live in Normski's filthy fiefdom were my rubbish hasn't been collected, were policemen are as rare as hen harriers, and my council tax bill is going through the roof?

Then again only a cretin would believe that Dr Kelly was killed by 'rougue Iraqi intelligence agents'......because a bloke in the pub told him!!

But you council workers do like doing your Facebook instead of working.

Hats off said...

Having earlier watched Nick Clegg and Chris Huhne on The Politics Show I think one would be forgiven for thinking that they were from rival parties rather than taking part in a leadership contest.

First Huhne was forced into denying charges (later proven) of describing his opponent as a "calamity" only to later accuse rival Nick Clegg of "flip-flopping."

And there was me thinking that geeks always wore sandals.

Thomas are you the one behind the Broonite anti-Norman Baker site? Why is the big bad government so scared of a backbench liberal MP? Just because he’s uncovered A BIT of corruption and waste?? Thomas, I can say honestly that I have never been to Lewes, you seem to be a disgruntled local NuLab activist I take it?

You do realise what an MP does, right? You understand that legislators don’t empty your bins, the local council does? I don’t know or care who empties the bins in Lewes.

I think you’ve got the wrong end of the stick on NK’s theory there, but being a NuLabber you preseumably can’t read very well.

Ahhhh...I got it wrong, you must be my stalker, and a fucking useless cunt at that! And I'm not behind the excellent NormanBaker Watch either....

"Why is the big bad government so scared of a backbench liberal MP?"

Funny I thought he was a front bench MP for the FIb Dem's?

Secondly-Why are you so keen to imply that I'am some sort of ZaNuLab stockpuppet? Incase you are struggling with the concept- The CONSERVATIVES are the main party against the Local Fib Dem Council WHO IS FULLY BACKED by Normski.

Fib Dem council and Fib Dem MP-one of the same in my book, both corrupt as fuck.

Rather than waste GF's space on this perhaps you might have a peek at my blog (John Trenchard & BBC Biased) then perhaps we can 'discuss' this further, you never know what sort of shit I've got on your crypto-commie "fucking hero".

You're intemperate language seems a good indicator of your cerebral capacity.

So you're a nutter from the Tawdry Party who so HATE so see our wonderful NuLab government critcised are you?

Grow up you idiot, nobody gives a shit about Lewes Council, Baker is a LEGISLATOR who you hate because he's exposed the warmongering, murder, slime and corruption of NuLab and its Tawdry acolytes. Shameful.

A man who exposes NuLab/BluLab corruption is a commie? God, you're a cretin.

whilst i find gaping holes in a number of lib dem policies, i was astonished at sundays little tirade , so what if hulnes office issues pro selction propoganda , clegg should have argued it point for point , instead he went to see returning officer.
says a lot about clegg, he doesnt do point for point , hulne far better in my book. cleggs has sheffield constituancey , he should be used to a bit of none pc language.

whilst the meeting will go down alongside with paxos go at howard , just adds to lid dem poll woes.

thanks

Richard `Richy` Hannay says:

Mmm, tasty. I love the smell of rightwing hysteria this early in the day. The great thing about the gibbering right is that they never have enough, be it money, media coverage, outsourced jobs, crushed unions, periods of detention without trial, etc. TG`s link to biasedbbc is a case in point; the BBC has been defanged and castrated by Blair, leaving a pallid media outlet that mouths government propaganda and lobs softball questions to Brown's minions, while being careful to avoid asking really substantive questions. But apparently this isnt enough for TG and his ilk; no, in their blue-rinsed version of the world, the BBC is a febrile hive of commie subversives dedicated to left-slanting the news. Only when it is privatised, chopped up and sold off will the airwaves and cables resonate to the true blue dawn of liberty under which truly whale-gagging wads of cash can be trousered without the slightest danger of any popular media outlet getting wind of it.

They despise the BBC because their idol Roops Murdoch hates it. They cannot stand any voice of dissent or disagreement, no matter how mild. They mouth words like liberty and democracy but they`re the ones who hate democratic institutions like the BBC; even in its current flawed and craven state, I would still defend it against the likes of TG and his faux-libertarians.

Have at ye, Tommy boy! You now have my permission to sneer.
