Is the email working at the Indy? The phones definitely seem to be playing up, last time Guido called to talk to Andy Grice the line went dead. So just in case Guido's email to him on Monday went astray, here it is for him to read here:

Subject Hi ya
Andy,
Obviously this issue about the recycled FCO briefing is of great interest. I have two quick questions.
Could you give me an on the record quote as to how you independently verified the truth of the FCO briefing?
Can you confirm that you have never recycled for publication a press briefing verbatim in the past?

Guido Fawkes Esq.
Incidentally, in the U.S. the National Review has picked up on Indy-gate. Well, you know how stuffy Americans can be about journalistic integrity.

perhaps he has better things to do than reply to someone as unimportant as you?
They definitely could have phone problems .... cut-off due to unpaid bills perhaps.
Cover price raised 65p > 70p > 80p within a few months - that's up 23%.
The water is spinning and the plughole looms ?
But strangely The Indy seems to think Guido is important.

lol SURELY you wouldn't have something else up your sleeve here Guido?
He'd have to come clean pretty quick if you did, if he wanted his job!
YES ! Cameron gets a good free kick with the topic of School Surpluses !!!
Don't be silly Guido. How often do journalists bother to verify the truth of press briefings. If it suits them they will always accept the statements at face value.
Brown is totally rattled !!!
Haven't journalists been rehashing press releases for years? Nothing new, but we best call them out on it. Better yet, how about some fisking!
Who wrote up their 100 Reasons to Love the EU front page for them?
Who really gives a fu*k what The Independent says about anything. It went down the toilet round about 1999! It has been total shite ever since!
guido,
He can't answer until the FCO tell him what to say!
While I'm on, I know this bores you, but it looks as if Brown's red lines are being breached already.
There is an EU proposal for a Blue card giving anybody European citizenship if they can show they have worked for 5 years.
Nulab say unlikely to be ratified by UK as immigration is one of Brown's Red lines. But if after 5 years they are given citizenship, they can come in anyway as EU citizens.
First of the thin red lines breached??
How many to go??
Guido, there is a lot more fun to be had with dead-tree press mindlessly recycling press releases , if you feel so inclined.
The overwhelming example would be anything to do with the global warming scam, particularly, of course, the Independent.
If anyone knows how to get their hands on the press releases that get sent out by Friends of the Earth or Greenpeace, I'd bet that the Independent is largely copy-typing them.

You bet-And the health fascist shit can only come from the Minister of Death-A Johnston esq.
Iain Murray sounds like an interesting chap. BTW it was a blog on the National Review where Murray's article was posted.
