Davey's Dilemma

Ed Davey is in a dilemma, if he doesn't run will he end up missing out on the crown? If young Clegg wins he could hold the leadership for a decade, with the result that some other young Turk will be jostling for the leadership when Ed is an older, balder man. Relatively old in these circumstances...

Will he stay out of it and endorse another candidate? Decisions, decisions. At the rate the LibDems change leaders, he could perhaps get another chance next year by backing Vince...

Incidentally, despite some speculation Lynne Featherstone told Guido she is "running in the other direction". Guido suspects she will probably endorse Huhne (again).

who's Ed Davey?

The word from Berrylands is that Davey's going to auction his support to the highest bidder, he wants a high profile role.

You're joking, aren't you?
Being leader of that bunch is equivalent to coming top in a remedial class.

Please no he is the most insufferable of that bunch of freaks

Is he hetero?? Very important consideration in that freak's club.

Guido - can't you persuade Norman Baker to stand?
Just think of the embarrassment for NuLab when at PMQs he asks awkward questions about David Kelly.

I see that yesterday he got the fuzz to admit that there were no fingerprints on the "suicide" penknife.
Strange, that.

One question for Ed..

"Ed as you are both a libdem and suffering from premature male pattern baldness, have you ever had the urge to pay a young man to shit upon you?"

Lets face it these questions are essential when choosing a libdem Leader.

I wouldn't worry about Ed Davey because he's sure to lose his seat next time around. The only way he won it in the first place was by a shameful Lib/Lab pact that had them actually driving around ripping up conservative posters and begging people to keep the tories out at all costs. This is the same bunch of LibDums that raised business taxes and wasted several thousand quid on a number plate for the bloody mayor.

I like Guido's post. Ed is ambitious and will spin the wheel if he thinks he has a decent chance. It's very possible that Clegg may decide that this wouldn't be a good contest to win -but he needs a good excuse to back out.

Getting *less conventional/weirdo's (*delete as you see fit) seems to be the order of the day i.e. Boris for Mayor, so why not Opik for LibDems? Got to be less dull that Brown or Cameron.

yeah, but they only lie about it. All of them...

A better option would be to be more subtle about it: "Ed, do you know what bunnies do?"

Why do you set up your i.d. like your have a link to a profile when there is none? What a sad pathetic arsehole you are.

ed davey is a bloody idiot and even if he did get the support of the parliamentary party to stand in the contest there is NO WAY he would be elected by the membership.

i know this because i would personally visit all the membership and threaten them with a good hiding (though some of them may like that) if they did vote for him

fat head davey - pah!

I didn't swear at you yesterday. I called you an illiterate anonymoron and a freak show before you unwisely outed yourself. I would like to apologise to any freak shows and illiterate anonymorons for tarring them with the same brush as this idiot searching for a village.

You're not funny, despite your extremely amusing Id and the amount of bad language you use. A polite request - please stop polluting the threads on this website.

All - may I make a suggestion and ask all of you to ignore the penis that is "poisonous slippery V Stalinist ruthlessness:", perhaps then it will go away

Mr PRAGUETORY

this idiot searching for a village.

As the villages of eastern europe have rapidly emptied maybe you have spotted a gap in the market?
Romania must be crying out for village idiots these days.
We could advertise this dolt and see if there are takers.
No doubt many gypsies would love to have somebody to throw shit at and our chum PSSR seems like an ideal candidate. That is if his mummy will give him permission to travel.

Not on current form. One bad opinion poll and he'll be sleeping with the fish.

It's getting crowded down there.

I am neither balding nor a libdem.

if they have any sense they will wheel back charlie who despite all his documented (hic) problems remains genuinely popular to limit the electoral damage and be replaced shortly after the next election.

On another note I do not buy all these bad for the tories theories. If they have any sence they will head left and look for labour voters- that is the only place they can go in the next couple of years with any prospect of success.

Ignore the troll. It started with 'mike', the idea (it is very nulab, very simplistic, and - like all their ideas - will go away once ignored) is to make visiting this blog so unpleasant that people stop.

But if you don't read and don't respond, you've rendered them [symbolically as well as literally] impotent.

'Course, Guido could introduce comment moderation. Which would solve the problem.

Ed Davey, Ed Vaizey, Ved Daizy...

Who the fuck are all these nonentities ? I haven't heard / seen hide nor hair of these people, and I read a paper everyday. What on earth are the vast majority of the electorate going to make of these complete nobodies ?

Praguetory said...

This goes against the grain, but I find this new contributor to be quite useful.

He is a useful idiot. A completely humourless fuckwit to take the piss out of. What more could anyone ask?
