Dacre Officially Enters Gordon's Tent
In what many think is designed to provide Dacre with a "public service" excuse for his peerage, Gordon has appointed him to oversee a review of the 30 Year Secrecy Rule.Dacre's other public services; warning the public about gypsies, immigrants, alco-pops and such-like are deemed not good enough to earn him the ermine. Guido thinks editors should sup with politicians with a long spoon, getting in their tent and having a cozy breakfast in the morning with them is unwise. Perhaps it was secrecy that they discussed over the breakfast kippers...

It's a good time for the Mail's circulation figures to go down.
That's the exTorygraph, the unIndependent, and now we get the BroonMail. There is nothing left to buy, what do you do for a crossword on the train nowadays?
Dacre is, surprise, surprise a self-serving treacherous little shit, and he looks a bit queer too. Could that be it?
News for the Labourgraph, the Indy (not), the treacherous Mail and the usual suspects.
YOU'RE BOY IS A BOTTLER AND A LOSER!
Dacre has had a bad kidney reaction to his new blood-pressure (ie anti-stroke) pills and has a touch of heart disease to go with it.
This is front for six months, so he can step down and then get a gong.
He's going anyway. Bloody funny way to do - hanging around with the bully brown...
What an arse-licker.
Trust that the DMGT will sack him first.
Raises serious questions about the independance and moral ethics of editors and their relations with the politicoes.
Mail was shit before, Mail will continue to be shit. Whether they're voting Tory or Labour, it's readers are cretins.
boo fucking hoo.
We have the delicious prospect that as the traditional Tory press goes over to Brown, in the same moment as the Murdoch press is signaling that it is jumping ship and thinking about going over to the the Tories.
I wonder what Quentin Letts, Richard Littlejohn, Melanie Phillips and all the other right wing commentators in the Mail make of this. Dacre is making a big mistake
I think Melanie Phillips has left the Mail and gone to the Spectator.
Perhaps she finds Dacres sycophancy to Brown obnoxious too.
"Dacre is, surprise, surprise a self-serving treacherous little shit, and he looks a bit queer too. Could that be it?"
Of course it is. Why isn't more being made of Brown's sexuality? Why aren't the Tories making an issue of it? Why hasn't Cameron alluded to it ONCE?
Let's see how many votes they pick up among flat-cap traditional voters in the north or Muslim voters in the midlands when they know the sort of man they're voting for. The Tories are missing a trick, as usual.
Where is the man's pride??
Does this "defection" mean that the usual swivel eyed leftie media twats whose knee jerk reaction is to foam at the mouth at the very mention of the Daily mail, are now having to try to zip it?
Old fascist News Paper supports new fascist government.
Why the surprise?
Not until people start thinking 'us and them ' instead of 'left and right ' will they understand there powerless position.
Liberty and freedom of the individual is not a political party. It is a 'Gods' given birthright.
Dacre is on the same mission as Brown and Blair and most of what used to be know as the Free World.
The question is not which colour party wins the next general election. The questions are.
"Are we going to like the results of the mission, and how many of us are going to be alive or at liberty by the end of it?
"it's readers are cretins"
said the illiterate anonymong who is in no position to criticise.
Michael White speaking of Dacre said "He(Dacre) believes that Brown has the mantle of greatness about him !" and Dacre in an editorial last week actually wrote the telling phrase "This paper has great admiration for Mr Brown".
I suspect that 95% of The Mail's readership feel that Brown has very little of the "mantle of greatness" or have any great admiration for him and that Dacre is completely "out of step" with his readership and that once he "retires" the next editor will be forced to row back towards the right to re-capture falling circulation.
[retch]
What? Dacre ate Brown's split kipper?
[/retch]
Brown's 'mantle of greatness' looks strangely transluscent from this angle.
@ Praguetory.
No, not illiterate but suffering from extreme dysgraphia.
As I do after the second bottle...
Dacre’s yet another gullible twat taken in by a decade of Brown’s myth making about himself. Now the mighty Gordon has revealed himself to be what most of us guessed all along - a cynical, cack-handed, egocentric, stuttering nonentity - Dacre is left high and dry and looking like a tosser. Fucking hilarious. If these spivs and chancers in the dead-tree press chose to swallow Brown’s spunk then so be it. Just don’t expect us to buy your shite papers or read your bollox columns you smart-arse pricks. You’re a disgrace to free speech and the public’s right to information, so fuck off!
A tosser after a peerage. Why the hell would you want one nowadays anyway? The Daily Mail has such a 1980's feel to it and is in massive need of fresh blood at the top. The Daily Mail Trust ought to wield the dagger, they are being taken for mugs
said the illiterate anonymong who is in no position to criticise
But most of them are.
Not all, though. I read it. Because otherwise, how would I know what middle managers and senior sales reps from Solihull think?
..And the Sun looks like it may be about to abandon New Labour..
Who would have thought it.. ?
So, Broon's quoted by the BBC as saying "Freedom of Information is the right course because government belongs to the people, not the politicians.".
Presumably on those grounds we'll be having a referendum on whether to pass a bit more governing power over to the EU in the new const^H^H^H^H^Htreaty then? ;)
I would like a referendum on whether political parties should receive taxpayers' money.
confused said...
Is it only wealthy jews (Cohen, Ashcroft, Sainsbury etc)or wealthy Indians (Hinduja, Mittal) who bankroll political parties these days?
Boy are you confused!
Somebody tell him(because I can't count in billions)how much MP's,SDADS,and other DAGS cost the English taxpayer.
What
a
cunt
Hey Dacre are you related to that other NuLab useful idiot Paul Myners?
The Mail's circulation has gone down by over 60,000 a day in recent months coinciding with Dacre's love affair with Brown.
Dacre's infatuation with that other Labour phoney Blunkett 2 or 3 years back slashed the circulation by thousands. You'd think he'd have learned by now that Mail readers don't like reading papers that suck up to Labour scum.
Sadly, I am a Mail reader for over fifty years. I have been worried for a number of months about the 'editorial' direction.
In the past seven days there has been editorial comment to the effect that the Mail believes Brown is a man of substance etc and that he will bring a different kind of politics.
You try and get a letter published asking for a reason to those statements...impossible!
Dacre must be shown the door.
Couple of more departures on the way at the Tories as Coulson's march continues.
The dark side meets dark Brown....
as a long time reader of The Mail I'm shocked that its now going soft on Brown - Now in the public eye he's been unmasked as a useless self serving creep surrounded by a bunch of a**elicking toy bullyboys, ably supported by that creep Dacre - Now I'm buying the Express -
Gordon's attempt to bring Thatcher's secrets into the public sphere by reducing the 30 year rule to 20 years is pure political hedonism.
Strapworld
Why is it so difficult for some people to understand that the simple logical explanation is the best.
Dacre likes Brown because he cant see any reason why he should not. this because Gordon Brown is a fascist and so is Dacre.
When have you read the Daily Mail supporting anything other then authoritarian corporate capitalism?
The only debate in the Mail is, which rather nasty multi national corporation the hanging and flogging should be farmed out to.
If your desire is liberty personal responsibility and freedom under common law with a sound currency underpinning a peaceful contented and prosperous world.
Why do understand so little of how to achieve it and even less of how the bastards are trying to stop it ever happening?
Proof that you can buy anyone. I rather like the Mail -I find their easy level suduko and their quick crossword fit my intelligence level like a glove.
Of course, alot of the content of the newspaper is utter hectoring drivel, but their (always stridently anti-Labour) political stuff is usually a satisfying read. Until now I suppose. Melanie Phillips is utterly brilliant; but then Littlejohn is an utter mong. Quentin Letts is overrated. They should swap him for the woman who does the soaps for the Weekend mag; her commentary is funnier and more incisive than his.
Those of us who have actually worked for Dacre for some time are beginning to call him Ming - an old fool whose leadership is damaging the organisation he represents.
His positively homosexual adoration for Brown and his naked ambition to get himself a gong, never mind how much of a fool he has to make of himself to do it, are a sight to behold on the editorial floor day after day. The fact that Brown is obviously such a busted flush and Dacre can't see this only makes matters worse.
But then again, that comes as no surprise to those who know him - it's his breath-taking ignorance which offends those close to him, not his vile bullying or cowardice in dealing with those he does not like. He is genuinely dumb, a man with the most minuscule of hinterlands. His idiot's inability to pronounce any word of more than one syllable is a constant source of amusement to us.
We can only hope he does get the K or P he is so obviously after for this non-job he's doing for Brown, and then disappears into obscurity to leave the way clear for a new editor with the passion, intelligence and energy he lost many years ago.
