Bit bored today. Chris Clegg and Nick Huhne are too difficult to distinguish.

Guido got a press release from John Lewis telling him that they supply the Huhnie monster with his suits. Says it all really.

I bet Clegg gets his from M&S, unlike Kennedy who got his from Oxfam.

Then why don't you get on with finding out what the cyclops did in revenge for losing that eye…

What's wrong with John Lewis suits? Are you being snobbish, Guido? Would you rather he wasted taxpayer's money on Armani suits instead?

Guido, I know it is bad form to intrude on private grief, but I think you should draw attention to debate over on LibDemVoice. I believe you are already aware that many [most?] Lib Dems are cacking their underwear, in the belief that they are going to be 'taken out of their comfort zone'.

That is to say, join 'Nulabour' as proto-Tories who steal all their policies at the quickest available opportunity.

And they don't have comment moderation either.. Wonderful !

the awful truth about brown's economic record said...

Oh dear what can the matter be?
Gordon Brown's buggared up the economy....

"....Britain's economic resurgence over the last fifteen years has been driven by record levels of household debt and a public spending spree that cannot continue, according a German-led team of economists.

In a damning new report "More Mirage than Miracle" published by the free-market think tank Policy Exchange, the analysts said Britain was relapsing into high-tax and high-regulation sclerosis just as the rest of Europe begins to shake itself out of statist lethargy.

The country's underlying slippage has been masked by a housing boom that creates a false sense of wealth and encourages people to over-spend by drawing cash from their homes.

The British are resorting to a Faustian Pact that leaves many of them with an ever greater debt burden.

"From 2001 to 2006, a total of £256bn in equity was extracted from UK property values in this way. Dependent as it is on rising house prices, housing equity withdrawl cannot continue to prop up our consumer spending at its current level," said the report....

Clegg is massively superior in intellect and character to Cameron. Huhne is, as Matthew Parris noted, rather ghastly.

Guido: if you're bored perhaps you can devote some time to investigating the spyware on your blog and telling us what it is?

I see Winchester has been named our least environmentally friendly city. Which is deeply ironic, given the lead set by its MP, Mark Oaten, to creatively recycle waste products......

Chris Huhne's the one with greying hair that makes him look old. (53 is old).

What time you off to the Commons for the Yates 'grilling', Guido?

Suggest you cough and splutter if the right questions aren't being asked.

At least Huhne knows how to run a business and make his own money - more than you can say for Brown or Cameron.

Where can the Lib Dems possibly have found two less inspiring, and duller individuals than these two euroclones? At least Ming had a bit of personality.

MEP Huhne - making own money? hahahaha (Milking Every Penny)

Totally agree. The trouble with LibDem leadership contests is that they are like broken pencils - no lead in them and completely pointless. Clegg and Huhne are rather like John Major without the personality or charm, in my opinion.

allan said...

Tapestry, Huhne made his millions as a successful economist and VC of Fitch Ratings - I hardly think he needed the poxy salary of a parliamentarian. What had Cameron ever done?

As for charm... I tend to think that as far as politicans go, Clegg does fairly well, certainly better than Dave. But then, that's hardly difficult.

the awful truth
Maybe those economists should spend their time on solving the problems of eastern Germany before telling us how to fix the British economy.
More a 'mirage'!A bit like the late 1980s.

PS. I just watched "V for Vendetta'
on HBO.I give it two and a half stars.
