08:30 UPDATE : Clegg is launching his "glitz-free" campaign in Sheffield today.
His website www.nickclegg.com will go live immediately afterwards. His pitch is going to be that he can reach out beyond the LibDem comfort zone. Translated : "I'll take votes back from Cameron".

In Scots language "cleg" = "gadfly".
One definition of gadfly = "constantly irritating person".
No other comment.
AFAICT the core policy of the LibDems is to hand power over to Europe if they win, and to Labour in they lose.
Very tempting. Not.
Clegg says the LD's must "broaden their appeal" (they could hardly be more unappealing), or "face oblivion".
Oooh! The O-word. I love it when the Lib Dems talk dirty.
"I'll take votes back from Cameron".
Why would anyone vote for a dud Cameron lookalike with no chance of power, when they could vote for the real thing with a very real chance of power?
Excellent news ! He is going to sell them down the river !
Anyone who uses the phrase 'comfort zone' should have their balls cut off with a blunt knife immediately..
Is Nick Clegg a commercial business of some sort???
Dot com domain names are primarily for global/US commercial activities.
Personal/not for profit sites should use the dot org or dot org dot uk domains.
If he or his team can't even get this right......
As noted above, Clegg is going to sell the LDs down the river. So the commercial dot com domain name is justified. LDs for sale. Special offer - buy one, get the rest free.
Guido, don't tell me we're going to receive daily LibDEm Leadership updates?
Honestly, we're not (that) interested.
Perhaps a weekly update?
For fuck's sake. Does anybody give a flying toss? Are you being paid by Cowley Street or something? This really is desperate. This blog is fast going to the fucking dogs.
alex - piss off you stupid dickless twat - this is a political blog "!!

Relax little tiger boy. Did you get out of the wrong side of your (empty) bed this morning?
PS. You are correct that I am dickless ... I am a woman.
It's really, really exciting: a no-holds-barred contest between a Westminster- and Oxbridge-educated economics journalist and rampant eurogeek and a, erm, Westminster- and Oxbridge-educated economics journalist and rampant eurogeek. Fuck me, I think I am going to pass out with the excitement of it all.
Jesus. Can someone persuade John Prescott to stand? At least he'd add some colour (and maybe some violence and shagging and stuff).
I was about to suggest an annual update would be preferable until I read the dickless person's comment. She's right.
One solution might be to take the tweedle dum route, elect both, one for the Lib and one for the Dem side and let them take one question each on Wednesdays.
Anonymous angry Tiger boy who needs a girlfriend ...
I'm with Alex on this one. A daily update on this subject is not necessary
Sophie, consider: if the Libdems recover they will hurt the Tories more than Lab and side with Lab in a minority situation. If, like me, you've had enough of New Labour and want a change what happens to the LibDems is key.
I noticed Dianne Abbott Laid into Chris Huhne last night. She seems to have decided who will take votes off Labour and who will take them off the Tories.
Oh God- the tedium!!! To liven up the entire boring non-event of the Libbies choosing a figurehead (leader is an inappropriate word) why not have them do:- 'It's a LibbyDem Knockout'! Let's have Team Clegg vs Team Huhne, get Stuart Hall to do the announcing/taking the piss- and there you go! I did post something similar on LDV a moment ago- but it was deleted! By god- that Fenwick is fast (as well as a nice bit of stuff)! She musn't have much to do!
If the LibDems had any sense, they should head to the left rather than the right - there are far more seats to gain in that direction.
WHO CARES??? WHO THE FUCKING SODDING SHITTING FUCK CARES WHO LEADS THE LIBDEMS????????
Why can't we just have general third box on ballot papaers for LDs, BP, Green, Loonies etc for the benefit of any wanker so self-righteous as to bother to come down to a polling station to piss his (more likley "her") vote away - why don't they just stay in bed, for fuck's sake?
I am trying to be interested and in that spirit i would say that, whoever gets the leadership will have their work cut out as Mings leadership was never really the problem (his approval ratings were more or less constant). Wot done it to the Libs and made them poll so bad was Brown being better recieved than Blair & Camerons/Tories resurgency.
Incidently, for all those saying "come back Blair all is forgiven, Browns approval rating is STILL higher than Blairs was when he was kicked out, sorry, left office.
OK, back to being not interested.
Having watched the Clegg launch on the Beeb this morning all I can think is 'oh no, yet another "power back to the people" bloke who then, when asked about the referendum, promptly said no.
I can't decide whether 'tos**r' or 'wan**r' describes him better.
watched him on news , fell asleep !!
when asked if he wants to take the party left or right he said niether "Ime a liberal"
mmm funny being a liberal has made you lose 6 points in the polls perhaps you need to re think that one clegg.
so far he looks like pleasing the unthinking voter who likes the smell of summer fresh in there house , yes i have his campiagn slogan "i promise to cover over all known political shitty smells with new improved liberal mediochraty.
hell be on those europe funded lobby groups like nothing.
hes just going to take tax payers money and sell us off to europe.
which reminds me if mps are paid by our taxes we should get the vote as they are changing our political system with our money without asking us or consulting us .
thanks
red despot spotter
To those complaining about the daily update:
If you don't like it, fuck off and start your own, LD leadership contest-free, blogs.
I for one enjoy the daily opportunity to take the piss out of these self-important non-entities.
That is all.
Last night (Thu) in Derbyshire the BNP got 35% of the vote in an area where they have never stood before. The Lib Dems did not stand, if they had and split the labour vote the BNP would have won. They are already an irrelevance and a party who doesnt contst elections already is on the path to oblivion, and a leader such as Clegg who called for an amnesty for vast number of LAW breaking ILLEGAL immigrant to be allowed to stay on this overcrowded island shows he is vastly out of step with the mainstream British opinion.
indeed the lib dems are in fact dangerous, and nasty and can tip the balence.
they are super soft on crime, want to lower the age our children can be buggered at and pro europe to the point of burning the unionjack!
if that is the `nice`tm party ill take the BNP anyday!
anon - 4.33am
I've been to hundreds of Lib / Lib Dem meetings over the past 20+ years. Never yet seen a Union Jack being burnt!
Anon 10:27
Well I know the sea level is rising. When did Derbyshire become an island?
