Charity Commission Will Publish Sith Investigation Findings
Guido contacted the investigators at the Charity Commission recently to inquire as to how the eight-month long investigation into the wrong doings of the Sith was progressing. They won't say as yet, but did promise they would publish their report online.
Gordon is pushing for a change in the laws the Smith Institute broke so that their actions are decriminalised. He told voluntary workers this week
Nevertheless this will be a change in the law that will allow tax rebates for political campaigning. Surprisingly enough Guido favours the change. Guido has never yet met a tax deduction he hasn't liked...
Just so long as it is not retrospective and doesn't get the sleazy Sith off the hook. Which is why a timely conclusion to the Charity Commission's investigation is now overdue.

"I do not personally believe that you can be an effective community and charity organisation... if you're somehow limited in advocacy and your ability to speak and campaign on things you think are wrong. It should not be wrong for you to say `we urge you to support this cause.' That's a controversial thing as well."Ed Miliband, the ultra-Brownite Cabinet Office minister and frequent attendee of Smith Institute events at 11 Downing Street in the past, also reckons "Charities should be free to participate in appropriate ways in political activities. There are clear benefits to society from allowing charities to do so." Clearly such a change would benefit the Smith Institute and that charity's sole beneficiary - G. Brown.

Large can of white paint on standby then!
So the painters will be due soon with the whitewash
Gordon Brown and his sleazy gang remind me of rats in a sack! There is NO honour among THIEVES! When one of these scumbags gets caught you can bet they will squeal like stuck pigs! Then the whole rotten edifice will fall!
Just one NULAB crook/rat needs to be caught! I will watch with pleasure as the NULAB crooks are sent down by the beak!
PS
Dear NULAB traitor bastards, your time in the sun is coming to an end!
It is rather odd that none of this occurred to Brown (or Ed Miliband) when they were putting together the Charities Act just recently (but then again that was before the Charity Commission investigation started). It is always nice to hear of politicians doing things because they believe it is the right thing to do rather than because it will benefit them!
"The Commissioners have therefore concluded that there is no realistic prospect of a conviction and accordingly...."
I imagine Dame Susi Quatro has already borrowed a tear-off pad of get-Nulab-out-of-jail statements from the CPS.
But you can bet that odd little Midlands industrialists group funding the Tories will be outlawed in the new legislation.

You're (NB) quite right Mike, I was posting like a socialist and not checking for typos.
My apologies, I will try to do better, but your vitriol does not become a very senior citizen who has been "poorly". Better check your diapers.

Your a sweetie.
"I do not personally believe that you can be an effective community and charity organisation" - very worrying statement. Charity is well defined and is generally for the general benefit. Advocacy is the expression of a personal point of view. When a politician can't see the distinction, and worse, when he is prime minister, then we are all in deep trouble.
Alex, we are not only in deep trouble, we are in a crash dive with the controls seemingly unresponsive. All reason and history has been jettisoned by the NuLab machine and our own money is used against us to ensure the coming of their one party state. You only have to look at the increasing number of desperate trolls on Gay Gordo's payroll who are turning up to support him in places like this.
Interesting times in Belgium though! Perhaps this crew of perverts' time is running out after all.
Guido
Its about time you got the message. It could save you a prison record at least.
Even IF a completely crazy news paper editor with a very urgent death-wish published in this mornings edition a picture of the entire cabinet dressed in KLU-KLUX-KLAN frocks at a bi-sexual, masonic devil-worshiping animal and baby buggering orgy. While happily boasting the countless swindled zeros now present on their personal bank statements.
ALL our government appointed police top brass and judges, along with our spineless government controlled media headed-up by the greatest authoritarian state power promoting propagandists of them all, the BBC.
Not only could very likely be well represented in the picture as well.
But would have it all quickly hushed up (or made to seem somehow normal???????) and home for tea and medals, by lunch-time.
This of course could not possibly happen because as we all know there are absolutely NO free-masons or other power mad devil-worshiping covert sexual perverts in the government, media and establishment of this, or any other country and never has been.... Never has been.... Never has been.... Never has been.... Never has been...........

Benefits been stopped then ?
"Charities should be free to participate in appropriate ways in political activities"
Could GB's intention be to allow charities to make political donations too?
I sense that they would like to find another avenue of funding, and charitable donations won't necessarily have the same baggage as Union ones. I guess most charities are left wing too, so making Labour the most likely alliance.
It would also offer a marketing opportunity to the Labour party, if a charity you support is allied to the Labour party.
Nowadays many services formerly provided directly by the public sector are contracted out to the charitable voluntary sector. Some of the big charities derive a major part of their incomes from the Taxpayer in this manner. If these charities were enabled to make political donations.... trebles all round methinks
Guido's right to favour tax deductions for political campaigning, or even trad charity works, but that *isn't* what we'd get.
What we'd get is an extension of Charity Commission oversight to all campaigning organisations - a la Putin's Russia, where NGO's must be registered with the state and meet state standards... such as not taking anonymous donations.
We've already seen the nationalisation of political parties through the Electoral Commission, and the nationalisation of charity through the transformation of the Charity Commissioners (1603-2005, RIP) into the Charity Commission. Do you really want the rest of the voluntary sector (that hasn't been eaten up through "partnership" programmes) nationalised, for the sake of a notional tax-break?
Guido, don't hold your breath. Given that the Charities Commission is headed by a New Labour activist and that, like most "charities" it will almost certainly be staffed by a gang of lefties (Oxfam now being little more than a well funded anti US and anti Western propoganda machine) the results are likely to be anodyne at best. Even if they upheld and substantiated all your allegations it would be comprehensively buried by BBC/New Labour.
Btw, Guido, just as the reality of Sinn Fein was underlined by the nomenclature Sinn Fein/Ira could I suggest that you and other commentators of the Right start to recognize the reality of the BBC by always terming it BBC/New Labour.
The problem with such a law change is it would allow charities to be hijacked by minorities to basically campaign for whatever they like. This would include, say, Student Unions funding organisations like the Socialist Workers Campaign or Abortion Rights...
Charities are becoming hijacked by party politicians, especially when they pay politicians to do work that converges with the politican's party political interests. It's a sad fact. Oxfam's appointment of Labour Councillor Antonia Bance to run its campaigns and media work on UK poverty issues is an example of this.
