Guido's Top Political Blogs

Dale is looking for your list of Top 20 blogs for his 2007 Guide to Political Blogging in the UK. He wants a more objective means of ordering of them. Don't know why, last year the result seemed right to Guido.

I don't have an order of preference, but the blogs Guido reads every day tend to serve up new information rather than commentary. Iain is in there, da Fink's Comment Central, the Speccie's CoffeeHouse, Recess Monkey, the unmissable Political Betting, ConservativeHome, LabourHome and LibDemVoice. Dizzy is reliable, SpyBlog is authoritative. Kevin Maguire often talks down to his readers, but has the odd gem of (sometimes unintended) insight, Benedict Brogan is fast and from the frontline.

My favourite blog overall is probably Mike Smithson's Political Betting.

Email your list to Iain by clicking here and you could win a pile of DVDs and stuff.

How can Iain expect anyone's vote when, having teased us with his story about the shirt that he bought in Rwanda (which even made it into the Sunday Times) he refuses to show us the fabled garment?

I say: no photo, no vote for Iain.

Apparently when Iain bought his shirt he insisted on having his inside leg measured.

Why doesn't Youporn get a mention? We should be told.

I hate to use language more suited to a lavatory wall rather than a serious political blog , however , you must be a bit of a cunt if you don't choose my blog.
It has the fucking lot , drugs , Cameron Jokes (did he or didn't he?) A pathological obsession with passports , car drivers and The Church of England.
Many consider me to be "Bonkers" but , as I like to point out each week ,my prophecies tend to come to pass, so just who is Bonkers?
Certainly not me.

Flannel underwear, so called Prime Minister Gordon Brown intends to make this compulsory for all of us as part of his so called fight against the hoax that is climate change. I for one intend to continue to sleep in the nude.

Bottle nosed whales and now great white sharks ,when will this so called government take control of our coasts?

Probably like thouands of other readers, I can't be arsed to sign up to a google account, as now required by ID, just to post the odd comment here and there now and again - so he is probably missing out on a lot of comment traffic and reaction - and complaining that his numbers are down. I won't be bothering to answer his polblogs request.

I prefer comment blogs to information blogs - which is why I like Guido so much.

Like anon @ 8:11 I have taken exception to Iain's requirement for a google account, so I have stopped looking at his web-site.

It's market forces and all that. If you don't like the terms and conditions don't go there. And as Iain might find out (like those gas companies who hiked their prices so finally causing people to switch gas accounts) if you stop going then even if he relents how will his lost readership know?

Guido - keep on keeping on!

There is a new blog coming out for Prospect the best mag by far . That might get into your good books.
I get the feeling your are seeking onedown-man-ship Damn good journalist credibility , the seedy raincoat the list of furtive contacts . Odd for someone who dresses like Beau Brummel and wears a supporting undergarments ..but you know best.
