Tom Watson Breaks His Promise, As Predicted

Back in October last year Guido wrote of Tom Watson:-

"was overheard telling senior party officials in his constituency recently that he expects "to be back in government" after Gordon takes over... Gordon wouldn't reward the treachery that he has publicly disavowed advance knowledge of and claimed he would have advised against. Would he?"
Tom got very upset and posted in the comments
For the record: I do not want to go back into government whoever leads the Labour Party. I'm very happy being a constituency MP.

He went on to write
I'm an overweight opinionated member of parliament, I embarrass my relatives all the time. That was the only accurate bit of your post. But you know this.

The bit about returning to government is the inaccurate part of your post. But then I suspect you know this too. You are asking people to comment on a story that isn't true. It doesn't do you or political bloggers any service. Then again, why am I bothering to say this to you? You know all this as well.

With a reputation for accurate and balanced reporting to protect, Guido was troubled by this, perhaps Tom Watson was not a treacherous, lying plotter who met and connived with Brown on the eve of his coup attempt against Blair. Maybe he was not going to return to government under Brown. Guido offered to retract the allegation if he promised not to return to government.

It shouldn't be neccesary but to amuse you: I promise never to return to government.

Good enough?

Tom Watson rejoined the government as a whip today. But we never really believed him did we? Nor did we really believe that he only chatted to Gordon about the kids. As politicians go, Tom Watson is one of the most mendacious shits in parliament. The thing is, he is proud of it.

Scum.

It was the Watson coup attempt that forced Blair to concede that he would be going. Watson made history. Although it clearly didn't happen - ahem.

The other party responsible for the acquisition of the Blair scalp are the Cash For Peerages investigators. Their enquiry has taken a long time, and has been used as a kind of whipping service to ensure Blair kept his nose moving towards the exit, once Watson got it into motion initially.

Blair's exit was timed perfectly to the EU Constitution summit.

Someone must have coordinated the Police enquiry, Brown's campaign to remove Blair and the requirement of the EU that Blair attend the summit as PM.

Blair mentioned skulduggery in his departing speech, but claimed noble causes were the real business of politics. Can't say I've noticed many of those recently.

Seems the Mail read Guido. They claim an exclusive that Levy and Turner WILL be charged next month and that the Cabinet Office have retained a QC.

Brown is going to refuse to answer any questions about Bliars time in office! Hang on, he is going to refuse to talk about 10 years when he was the number 2 in government?

Might explain the flood of NuLab trolls yesterday!!

Not a good idea to give these four-letter individuals credit where credit is not due. I can't see Watson possessing the intellectual competence to assistin anything more than doing up his own shoelaces, rather than coordinating a police investigation into Blair and the campaign to propel the Clunking Fist into power.

There is a saying, which someone recently posted on here, that 99.9% of all politicians give the rest a bad name - Tom Watson certainly doesn't fall into the 0.01%.

Watson the Whip. It has a nice ring to it doesn't it?
Your posting doesn't surprise me.

Watson is the sort of vain bastard who will read this post and comments thread, so I just wanted to say that he's a wanker and that he's going to Hell.

Guido,
You need to take up a collection to publish his emails as some nice full-page ads in his local newspaper. I'm in for £100....

I'm still pissed off that Blair didn't ask QE2 to dissolve parliament. A final kick to Brown on his way out would have been sweet.

Er Guido, if Watson tells the odd fib (and I still remember Liam Fox being asked whether he ever had and being unable to answer, like a fox caught in the headlights) and then you slag him off for telling a little fib. Obviously telling a little fib.

I caught him telling a little fib at a training event at Brighton conference. He insisted against all the evidence that MPs who had opposed the war got less votes. He used the exception (Woolas) that proved the rule. Next thing he and I were chatting with Alan Simpson from the Campaign Group ... and TW tried to deny saying it ...

But he's OK is Tom. He's made to whip.

Yes, a sort of Braille face, I think.

Do we really have to know about his sexual proclivities too? Are you speaking from your own intimate expereince of the man?

Adam Boulton's blog last week ('Spot the Differnece') dealt with the lying Lord Faulkener and the early release from prison arrangements. He flatly denied he was going to effect them one week, then went ahead and did it the next.

Boulton was disgusted. His seconf interview with him was superb, nevber raised his voice once to the liar.

His blog comment was significant, however, (particualrly as he lives with someone who is at the heart of New Labour), he said in his 20/25 years of political interviews, the worst examples of politicians or individuals who were guilty of 'lying' were all senior people at the heart of New Labour.

So no surpises with regard to Mr. Tom Watson's mendacity !

PS And Levy, Turner AND the Welshman are going to be charged, breach of the Honours Act, and probably Levy and Turner for conspiary to pervert the course of justice, the cover up.

Point of intellectual interest and slap down for Chris Paul. Exceptions cannot prove rules.

The baldest lies just flow from their lips. They bank on the media not taking any of it up, and most people not noticing. Which is what happens with each "fib" (as you touchingly call each vile new deception, Chris Paul.)

Glad to hear that he has been reselected for West Bromwich. There are a few T Watson stories hiding in the woodwork that are ripe to be dusted off.

From Genghis Pinko-Khan....

I know it's off topic, but I have just been watching our new Prime Minister's statment to the British people about the terrorist situation.

Is it not TOO much to ask to have a Prime Minister who has a suit that actually FITS him ?

What an embarrassment - Maybe he should call in Caole Caplin to tend to his severe shortfall in clothing expertise....at least Teflon never looked so badly dressed......it's reminiscent of Michael Foot and his Donkey Jacket...

Robert said...

Genghis, well said! Cyclops, as we all know, is dysfunctional. That shows in the way he dresses. White shirts should never be worn by fat bastards such as Brown. To extend the horror show he then wears a bright blue or red tie with an ill fitting suit.

You can just imagine a timid adviser trying to explain to Brown.
"Listen Sir, I do think we should get you a stylist." Can you imagine the Fat Controller's rage as a mere pleb thinks he knows better than Brown. If he was Stalin his adviser would be lucky to be sent to the Gulags.

Brown will be a disaster on the international stage. Can you imagine the whole World viewing him at a G8 meeting standing next to the well dressed Italian and French politicians.

As the advert says..."First impressions last"

The man is an arsehole.

Shelley said...

Mendacious shit? Requirement for the job with New Labour surely?

You are garment snob , your comment also reminded me of a day many years ago, I was watching television and for some reason michael foot was welcoming The French president and his wife , they were both elegantly dressed , and there was worzel fucking gummidge representing the UK , a compost heap in a corpses demob suit.

Re :Rocking Horse Riders suit.

1) It shows he cannot delegate even the most mundane of tasks.
2) He cannot take advice, even when it's in his interest.
3) He is totally unaware of how people view him.

Not very good signs.

No suroise is needed.
Watson is a politician.
Experience shows about 75% of all politicians are born liars (I never had sex with that woman. Sword of truth etc).

If he had REFUSED a position "Principled MP refuses to break word..."

but as most MPs have no principles, it's not a headline matter:-((

I prefer to call him RuPaul, Cross-dressing weirdo, so completely detached from reality, that he thinks he is advancing the cause of the Labour party.

But, he's doing a sterling job in reminding people why they shouldn't vote Labour.

Hang on, I'm confused (doesn't take much)...

Watson 'insisted *against* all the evidence that MPs who had opposed the war got less votes'- so he thinks that people who voted against the war got more votes than those who didn't?? Is that right?

Erm, Valerie Davies, Keith Bradley etc lost their seats and many MPs who voted against the war had significantly greater swings against them than those who voted in favour.

Woolas voted in favour, increased his vote, increased his share of the vote and his was one of very few seats where there was a swing to Labour...

So are we saying Watson thinks that's bollocks?

I'm confused. Very.

Guido- it's time for you to start the missed item from NME's letters page during the 1980's - namely 'Cu*t of the Week'! I'm sure if you paint your face white and wear a japanese kamikaze head band you'll look just like Mr Abusing! Tom Watson will probably have this category sewn down for a full year- unless the LDV 'blogger' Rob Fenwick becomes more 'prominent'!
