Timely Offer to Labour Party Members

This new service has just been emailed out to Labour party members. Obviously with so many party members getting arrested and facing corruption charges it is worthwhile negotiating a group discount. Cherie might even take advantage of the cheap moving house deal...

I wonder if Tony will be using the "leave a lagacy" link.
Chaos in Iraq, dodgy dossiers... the list is endless

How ironic for a government largely made up of dodgy lawyers.

Probably a new money making scheme for Labour.
Legal services will be provided at taxpayers expense whilst income goes to Labour party.
Pay extra for guaranteed result will be a value added premium service.

"(C) What firm does he work for?

(D) Name a prominent client of that firm."

Can't see his name as a partner @ Flint Bishop.

Thought I might be in line for a belated & rare prize from Mr Fawkes.

Surprised that some of the solicitor donors to the Labour Party (eg Irwin Mitchell & Thompson's inter alia) aren't participating.

Rhodri Morgan may be needing that number soon as it's amazing what you'll discover on the BBC pages these days:

The 'Master' and the 'Apprentice' - a race for First Minister

'The Apprentice' final that is showing this week is hotting up and the two contestants have battled it out while living together in their luxury pad in Cardiff Bay.

Is this service a special for all those Labour Party members who get shopped for smoking? I see the Tories on their web-site are going on about the Stasi implications of the Government's guidance to councils on this matter. Shades of Velvet Revolutions being needed with this lot?

did you notice the bit about a special "Relationship Breakdown Service" for Labour Party members?

Guido,

You sure this isn't a front for a new Cherie Booth scam (sorry, Chambers)?

After all, Hubby must have a fair idea of who might need legal support as Plod closes in. Not that they ever discuss such matters, of course.

That said, it's a diminishing market - 'Labour Party Members', I see. Can't be so many of them now.

Recycling Ethics - the Party that needs to be left a legacy

It's said that there are two certainties in life: Death and Taxes. Of course, thanks to their Economics of Embezzlement and their War on Life, New Labour have unleashed a deluge of both - but, common sense, has always dictated that the two were mutually exclusive. However, by leaving a legacy to the Labour Party, one will now be able to assist them in the robbery and murder of one's surviving kith and kin long after the selfsame Party has sucked the flesh from one's own exploitable shell.

Evidently, this Party is so morally and financially bankrupt that it requires one's Death before it can leave one a Legacy.

One wonders whether the Party will accept the membership of Iraqis and Afghans who wish to take advantage of the generous accident and emergency cover...

One knows that the Party's finances will fund a flood of poppy-fields across the Middle East.

Has MacLean's odious FOI Bill died its miserable death yet? Or was a Peer found in time to sposer it?

Flint Bishop solicitors are providing loss leading wills to LP members and in similar mode to affinity cards etc making a contribution for every sign up. As far as I can see this lot don't cover corruption and criminality. It is a will and personal services factory by the look of it.

Thank goodness the Tories have no affinity schemes and the like or you'd have to criticise them. Presumably Hazey's near death experience is part of the build up to this campaign?

"It is a will and personal services factory by the look of it."

They can give friendly advice as to how a sword is going to be taken to members' life savings. Schadenfreude.

It will be mildly amusing to see if, come 1 August, they produce their Home Information Packs. My understanding is that for legal reasons, all houses now have three bedrooms or fewer, but any of number box rooms, studies, and walk-in wardrobes (which may or may not contain a handy bed).

I'd like to see them squirm, come August 1, having to choose between applying HIPs to a juicy 5 bedder transaction, or losing it when the seller says they will go to somewhere which can count properly.

There ought to be more political justice whereby people who voted for this crap party are obliged selectively to put up with its crap legislation if they think it is such a good idea.

HIPS is a good one to start with - if you voted Labour, it applies to you. The rest of us think it is unnecessary and wasteful.

I've just noticed, it is a freephone number. I'll have a little tug come August 1st, see if they can face the dilemma.

Another killer is down in their terms and conditions:

"You may not create a link to this website from another website or document without Labour Party Legal Services's prior written consent."

Gosh, I hope Guido got written permission before mentioning they had put information in the public domain and where to read it.

I spend a lot of time with lawyers, but sometimes they are just such unutterable tossers you wonder if all their work can possibly be as bad as their intermittent statements of alternative reality.

I think this service is most welcome.

How ironic for a government largely made up of dodgy lawyers.

How ironic for a party which ignored the authority of the UN and embarked upon an illegal war.

Or was it just an accident and covered by third party insurance - if so they'd better check the Pru's got enough political capital in the bank to honour a claim. Failing all else, they can always file a suit against Bush for selling them a bomb.

I notice that the wills offered include discretionary trust wills ie. doubling your nil rate band and getting around some of your inheritance tax problem.

That's fine so long as it's only Blair, his Nu Lab cronies and a few rich people taking advantage of this swerve, but as soon as the masses get to hear of it, Brown will plug the loophole without further ado - most likely by sticking his knob in it.

How desperate the party has become. This is so bad that I have to keep telling myself it is not a spoof website.

Talking of spoof websites, has anyone seen wwww.thelabourparty.org.uk ? I wonder why they don't use their fantastic, wonderful and low priced legal services to get it banned?
