Lobby Slower than Guido Again

Yesterday morning Guido reported that Blair would resign as an MP. Today the rest of the Dead-Tree-Press is catching up and reporting that he will do so this afternoon. Tory party Chairman Frankie Maude put CCHQ on by-election alert after reading the story here yesterday morning.

Guido even managed to beat blogging Benedict Brogan, which is becoming increasingly difficult to do nowadays. Do keep up the rest of you...

C'mon guido, you've been a little slow lately, another Tory MP to cross the floor, is it Bercow.

Perhas Guido or Brogan would like to predict B-Liar's demise and the manner of it.

With the quartet job in the mid-east I fancy a nice little car bomb, somewhere sweet and busy, so there's plenty of collataral.

Ahhhhhhhhh semtex.

Well i can dream can't I??

Oh, of so much, but very little time, dear Master Gun Powder, when half of the shires have enough water to refloat Wimbledon and get Sir Cliff a place with them in the Red Leather place.

Resign, he is in clover, and Iron Bru can get some sun, as the ancient curse of Edinburgh's educating Anthony, is lifted and Old Labour rises from it's grave in a flash.

While our Charles Lynton Barrister can now do his own talk show, on BBC2, and highlight that he is still pulling the strings?

Imagine Blair's last act, goes to HMQ and asked for dissolution and got it. Then as he left the Palace,, the police escort turns out to be Inspector Yates, who stops Blair and arrests him.

Interesting little remark by Freedland in the Guardian this morning on Brown becoming PM: 'It's hard to think of an equivalent achievement: it is as if Michael Portillo was about to step into Downing Street.'

Guido slower than the dead tree press again.

The News of the World reported that Blair would resign as an MP months ago.

Absolute classic post!!!

Immediately thought of the last scene in The Long Good Friday, and Bob Hoskin's terrified face...

Chiller or what!

Well done Guido. I am as ever excited and impressed by and with your perspicacity. But you do realise that newspapers gather information on one day and then are available to buy the next morning, don't you? It's been like that for ages. That, after all, is their problem......

Well Iain beat you to publishing the evidence of Quentin Davies's hypocrisy yesterday, Guido. I notice no hat tip given. No falling out between you two I trust?

Granny,

So why do they have all these newspaper websites. Do they work on a 24-hour cycle as well?

Rich Dale,

I didn't read it on Iain's site, I got it an email from a co-conspirator, as did Iain in all probability - not from CCHQ either.

I, too, anticipate a further interview for Bliar - this time as a suspect.

They'll have to be quick, as I fear that he'll be given Diplomatic Immunity as Peace Envoy to the near east (Palestine etc).

He'd probably need it travel the world without being pestered (a la Pinochet) by obscure Spanish magistrates.

Come on Tim !.

Sorry, a seasonal affliction - I meant "Come on Yates !!".

What a fitting epitaph to the Bliar years:
major areas of the country in dire emergency because of lack of flood protection expenditures .
squaddies being blown up abroad after being supplied with sub-standard equipment.
Innocent youths being stabbed and shot by the ungrateful recipients of open-door immigration.

And all while Bliar coasts on an extended vanity ride , while Bogeyman Broon sulks and refuses to
get involved in our problems.

F**k Off Bliar .

May you rot in hell for what you've done to my country.

Oh Mr GuF! This story has been running for weeks. If you Google the dead wood press you'll find their stories from months ago suggesting this would happen. Also Prescott suspected and now Beckett.

I agree with Chang Yui.
That appalling man Patten, who was never a Tory anyway, will fit in very well with Mr. Broon.

Not a top position, obviously, and somewhere neutral, say the culture and heritage department (where he could cosy up with another Tory Fraud, Shaun Woodward.)

Patten's vanity knows no bounds. He thought he could 'finesse' the Mainland Chinese after 10 years of drawn-out negotiations by our Mandarin-speaking diplomats. He completely fucked it all up in his his first six weeks. True. Monumental arrogance.

Read his book 'East West' - he basically says 'I went to Baliol, and therefore I am automatically entitled to rule....'

He is a perfect candidate for Broon's team .....
