Is It All Balls? Who is It?

Tory and LibDem HQs are more fearful of defections today than the Soviet Olympic Team Coach used to be. Benedict Brogan says it is not going to be Rifkind. Some are worried about Patten. Still no public denial by Bercow, who incidentally backed the expansion of grammar schools last month.

LibDems should be aware that Shirley Williams was apparently spotted going into Gordon's Commons office. She incidentally closed down grammar schools. So presumably her talent would cancel out Bercow's talent.

Is it all just to destabilise the opposition? Of course, but it goes both ways, Frank Field was spotted chatting to David Laws, his brow furrowed. You never know...

UPDATE :
Adam Boulton is reporting "Strong rumours that the Lib Dem peer and QC Alec Carlisle will be appointed Attorney General."

Gordon's Common's office

Did you go to Grammar School, Guido? Probably best we did close them by the looks of it. Besides which, according to Newsnight Shirley Williams isn't joining the Government she's taking on some advisory (non) job.

The job of sub editor is available etc.

If I remember correctly, Shirley Williams sent her own daughter to Godolphin and Latymer until accusations of hypocrisy led her to switch to Camden Girls (pre-eminent state school patronised by chattering classes as it is a sister school to the fee-paying North London Collegiate). She would therefore fit right in with New Labour.

Shirley is to be Gordo's "Advisor on Nuclear Proliferation" - I bet they are overjoyed about that in Jerusalem (not).

Bercow only fell into line after Dominic Grieve stated his case and Bercow found he should sign the pledge in the Buckingham newspaper.......that is not really supporting grammar schools, merely conserving what Buckingham has.....so the Revised Willetts Doctrine has it.

Bercow could wrap his legs behind his head and still stand on his feet if it advanced his personal interests

Blinky was probably talking straight out of Yvette Coopers arse.

Think about it. There's no logical reason for Tories to all jump ship to serve under this autocratic Scottish cunt. They have the best chance of winning an election for 15 years and Cameron is the most likeable leader they've had for yonks. Why would you defect to serve under fuckwit features?

The only ones pissed off are the Heathite dinosaurs that Cameron has ignored/insulted. All he has to do is stroke their egos a bit more and he'll be fine.

I wouldn't put it past Blinky to have put out a rumour just to cause a bit of panic. Look at Conhome/Iain Fail - posters are rubbishing virtually every potential Tory MP's name which is mooted!

I don't doubt that Patten, Bercow, Rifkind etc are all wankers, but that's not the point. Labour have managed to cause a lot of finger-pointing and infighting.

Very clever..

Brown must be expecting some really serious economic trouble ahead - and he should know - and presumably that's why he's so keen to get a few more people inside pissing our rather than outside pissing in. National Government on its way?

I see Alan Suger is to be an advisor to the government. Presumably this has more to do with his high profile on the TV rather than any useful advice he may be able to give on stimulating business.

Looks like we are repeating the same tosh that we went through with Blair when he recruited high profile advisors. Remember Jonathon Porritt? Whatever happened to him? Working for Blair ended his career didn't it?

I think I am right in saying that Sarah Brown also went to Camden Girls...well at least there is some consistency in the new administration.

- isn't that exactly what the Tories did a couple of months ago by stirring it over David Laws? They're just nicking one another's ideas.

As the first poster said, most politicians are mendacious liars (anyone for a referendum on Europe/top up fees/grammar schools) ... so to expect straight dealings...

Would you buy a used car from any of them?

Course not. Most are so incompetent it would fall apart before you drove it away (rather than afterwards)

As the inexorable rise in interest rate sin the UK is going to lead to a significant rise in bad debts and house repossessions, GB needs to get his ratings up and have an election soon.

(It's the economy, stoopid)

Guido, do us a favour and take the pic of balls down. It's bloody terrifying. Even the slugs are marching out of my house.

I'd heard that Sarah Brown went to Acland Burleigh (the Camden comprehensive to which the fragrant Mrs Mills sent her children) but perhaps she also switched schools.

Williams is probably just doing that because of the fisking that dreadful woman was given by Christopher Hitchens on last week's Question Time. She tends to change her views more often than her elasticated stockings these days I should think.

Gordo's fallen for Sugar's self-publicity, It just shows that some people who aren't very bright get taken in by PR.
