Is the Cruddas Campaign a Covert Operation?

A co-conspirator spent a morning last week trying to get hold of the Cruddas campaign - don't ask - the campaign website gives no phone numbers. His constituency office said they were not allowed to give out that information and it being recess the office in parliament was unmanned, with the voicemail saying it was full.

Both Cruddas's and Benn's campaigns are based in the same serviced offices near Lambeth Bridge. At the time of writing Team Cruddas hasn't managed to empty the pigeonhole since it has had it (about two and a half weeks). Strikes Guido this is exactly the sort of Deputy Leader of the Labour Party the country needs: one who makes scarey left-wing noises for public consumption but has the organisational acumen of a vegetable marrow. Cheaper to run than Prescott, too.

His price on Betfair makes him third favourite after what most judge was a better and certainly more authentic performance on Newsnight. Despite a little excitement that this has brought to in the beating hearts of the Labour Left, Guido suggests you bet against him rather than on him. He is not going to win...

On Betfair Alan Johnson has overtaken Benn as favourite following a weekend poll putting him ahead with Labour members.

Well spotted Guido.

The whole Cruddas campaign is a sham. I'll leave it to your readers to guess it's purpose.

Come on Guido, how many excuses can you have to post a link to Betfair that earns you money everytime someone clicks?

Stop trying to support your bets and make yourself money.

Four more weeks of the election with a story most days including a Betfair link with 10,000+ impressions a day.

Should make a fair sum. Got a problem with that? Thanks for providing another excuse.

Given that Cruddas signed the disgraceful letter to the Guardian CONGRATULATING Venezuela's Hugo Chavez on closing one of the handful of non state-controlled TV stations in a country rapidly sliding into dictatorship, he does at least seem to be frighteningly consistent in his contempt for free interaction between rulers and ruled.

Off Topic but MUST READ

Before the BBC censors its own boards, do go and read the feedback on the beyond-dire logo for the 2012 Olympics.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A23431826

The description of it as "Lisa Simpson Giving Head" likely won't remain up long, but once you've lodged it in your mind, it's all you'll ever see when you look at the wretched thing!

CPS asks police to make further inquiries over honours

Anyone know the significance?

How can Alan Johnson be standing for Vice-President when the Palestinians have kidnapped him?

So Cruddas to stand aside and endorse Harman?

As said before if Harman is the answer, what the f*** is the question?

PS - any knowledge when the CPS to comment on Tony's 3 Cs ... cash, coronets, cronies?

Yawn...not more Guido 'share-ramping' type 'advice' to help him fill his wine 'cellar' [actually a few bottles of Pefolds which has had some dust and pencil shavings sprinkled over] - no get back to the Lisa Simpson giving head type posts we know and lurrve...

It's been reported that Carol caplin's been promised a last chance to pop back in to no 10 Downing Street.

Perhaps they'll wait to Brown is number 10 because the coppers on the door are instructed to only allow one con-man's floosy in at a time.

What would you prefer at deputy leader:

A rabid feminist (HH) or a Cruddas who evidently cannot organise a p***up in a brewery?

A Cruddas anytime - it so makes a change from watching ministers trying to distance themselves from their collective decisions - what spineless toadies.

sadbloke said...

This is a fairly transparent attempt from Alex Hilton - the recess monkey who works for Hilary Benn - to try to undermine the Cruddas campaign. Sorry, no conspiracy....

"new labour insider"

Could only be Peter Mandelson surely?

You are hilarious, Guido!

jdc said...

So, you rang his constituency office and asked to talk about his Deputy Leadership Campaign, and they wouldn't... presumably if they had, you'd have outed him as spending taxpayers' money on a political campaign?

Guido Fawkes Esq. said...

JDC,

No. That rule applies to SpAds alone. He doesn't have any as a non-minister.

Sadbloke,

Hilton had nowt to do with it.

So tell me the campaign office number if it isn't secret.

I managed to find the campaign numbers within 1 minute! Go to the journalist section!

So easy to find...

Don't the unions have a third of the vote?

If you Tories are against him so much, Cruddas is the man for me.
Refreshing to see an end to the over-slick era of Blairism.
