Another £10,000 Taxpayer Subsidy Bung to the Smith Institute
When the Food Standards Agency wanted to find out about the Effects of Nutrition in School Attainment who should they have asked?
Well apart from Jamie Oliver and everyone's mother, they could have gone to one of the various centres of excellence in the academic world; The Human Nutrition Research Centre at Newcastle University, the Nutrition Research Review team from the department of biochemistry at UCL, the Centre for Public Health Nutrition Research at the University of Dundee would have been particularly appropriate. Maybe the Medical Research Council's Collaborative Centre for Human Nutrition Research at Cambridge University. These are well known and authoritative centres.
What did the highly politicised Food Standards Agency quango do instead in the aftermath of the Turkey Twizzler scandal? They called those well known experts in child nutrition, Konrad Caulkett and Wilf Stevenson at the Smith Institute. The Sith got Jon Snow in to chair the event, with Dame Deidre Hutton from the Food Standards Agency presiding.
Other seminar contributors included New Labour's favourite headmaster Gary Philips (Lillian Baylis Technology School), Dame Suzi Leather - who was at the time at the Schools Food Trust. Paul Kelly from the contract caterers Compass Group chipped in - Compass are the firm which shoves chips down the throats of kids.
Funnily enough one of the conclusions they came to was that Mum's packed lunch was not nutritious and the kids would be better off scoffing Compass Group's nosh. For this conclusion to the gathering the Smith Institute was paid £10,000 of the taxpayer's money. The actual benefit to child nutrition was zero. Subsidy value to Gordon's charitable think tank - £10,000. Isn't it amazing that once again it costs the taxpayer £10,000 for the Smith Institute to organise one seminar for a government quango, yet costs the Sith nothing to hold nearly 200 hundred seminars on government property at No. 11? The discovery of this latest bung follows last week's revelation of a last-minute cover-up of another £11,750 bung to the Smith Institute direct from the Treasury. The whole thing stinks.
Even more disturbing is that Dame Suzi Leather, who attended this seminar, is a long-time Labour Party activist who now heads up the Charity Commission, which is conducting the investigation into the Smith Institute for breaches of the Charities Act. No conclusion has been reached in that investigation yet, which is in itself very worrying...

Why has it taken months for the CPS to decide more investigations into cash for honours is required? If they can bring charges in the Litvinenko case in such a short time why can they not bring charges in such anopen and shut case as the peerages scandal??
Delaying tactics??
The objects of the sith trust are:
"THE TRUSTEES SHALL HOLD THE TRUST FUND AND ITS INCOME UPON TRUST TO APPLY THEM FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE FIELD OF STUDY AND RESEARCH INTO THE ECONOMY OF THE UNITED KINGDOM."
Difficult to see how this squares with the seminar.
Rotten smelly & out of date methinks!
GF When did you first point out the sith could be breaking the rules?
The first I can see on your site is feb but I sure I remember something earlier than that.
It is not that politicians are venial tossers that is the problem. It's when they are told they are being watched and they do it anyway.
CPS needs more Police enquiries
is this
a. So the Police will now be able to arrest Blair - this wouldn't force his resignation would it?
or
b. There isn't enough evidence.
Can I trivialise this by commenting on the name "Dame Suzi Leather" and how it conjours up perverted images in my head!

No.
No wonder Hadrian built the wall
Good oh, nice to hear that the gravy train is still running, despite Guido's best attempts to de-rail it.
You really must try harder and get Knacker on the case, after-all its peculation of tax-payers loot.
Why are these people allowed to get away with it??? There must be a way to get this into court somehow. Only when it is in a court of law are the politicians powerless to stop the info coming out.
Im no lawyer but surely a private prosecution or similar must be possible to stop these things being covered up. The evidence of abuse is so overwhelming surely a judge could put a stop to it.
Anyone know what else we can do?
Gordon's new much vaunted transparency extends to sleaze as well. He's happy to carry on as shamelessly as ever ; aware that few msm feel any obligation to scrutinise or hold those in power to account on our behalf.
It just shows their contempt for the general public. They know they will get away with it.
"Why are these people allowed to get away with it???"
God knows!
Guido,
Don't forget that the Charity Commission doesn't have as much freedom to bias its results in favour of Labour, as one might imagine.
It's decisions, like that of the police and CPS investigating cash for honours, are all subject to a judicial review. If judges (who aren't particularly fond of the Government at the moment) find that the decision was irrational, biassed or otherwise flawed they can overrule it.
Ironically, the fact that the head of the Charity Commission, like the head of the CPS, is a political appointee makes it more likely that such a judicial review would be successful.
All we need is to find a friendly QC who would be prepared to take this up for us.
"It just shows their contempt for the general public"
So does Gordon's disgusting coronation , demonstrating a compltet contempt for democracy and responsibility.
Can anyone imagine if Cameron hid under his deslk whenever there's bad news like Gordon? The press would riot. Gordon is not being given an easy ride, they are actually colluding with him. This is a disgarce.
England third world country with third world politicians,we can't even vote for the next PM ,Bliar taking 6 weeks to piss off out of a PM job ,Bliar should have been dumped the minute he said he was going,no doubt the amendment to the FOI will get the go ahead to make sure we don'tknow what they are up to.
Still nothing from the MSM or the BBC! not a fucking peep. I tuned into BBC radio this AM to listen to a debate about Israel and the 67 war and guess what? it was so anti Israeli and slanted to the arab (lies&propaganda)line that I threw the radio against the wall, smashing it to bits! I hope those bastards get whats coming to them I really do.
The socialist scum have fucked up what used to be the best news service in the world and turned it into a leftist employment gravytrain/joke.
So now my only source of news will be from the net blogs.
FUCKING BEEBOID TRAITORS!
Scary Biscuits
In another (completely different) area I have assumed a judicial review cost is £5k ish.
Would any QC do it pro bono & what might other costs be?
ie What size figjhting fund / sponsorship would be needed?
(word verification Gov taq oa)
I think we need to create a charity called the English law Society (or something like that), whose job it is to take the Government to court every time they do something dodgy.
If you remember, every time the Government are taken to court they lose e.g.
1) Amalgamation of the rural Police Forces.
The Police threatended judicial review and the Government dropped the amalgamation.
2) Review of Nuclear Power.
Greenpeace took the Government to court saying that the discussion with the public on this was a sham.
Greenpeace won.
3) John Prescott's Pathfinder destruction of high quality Victorian homes (and communities) to be replaced by cheaper housing.
A lady whose community was destroyed through this where everyone was forcibly moved, took the government to court and won.
I have noticed that when I fought planning applications, that the council involved often broke the law. It is happening at Government level. They know as long as we ring our hands they can get away with it. So we need to act. I am sure we could raise millions for this.
The Government constantly breaks the law and nothing is done about it, because they know the general public are ignorant of the law.
Guido, did you really think that Gordon "Inner Circle" Brown would ask actual experts to devise a school nutrition strategy??
Is Uk becoming a presidency? Mc Stalin is going around with his 'hustings' tour spouting 'new' policies, just like a woud-be Bush. Rats to it all. He is just a new leader of a party, and coincidentally PM, with an agenda that was put before the People at the Election. Telling whomever is listening that he is going to 'involve the people more in decision-making, overlooks the obvious way that he can do this with the stroke of a pen, and a visit to Her Majesty- HAVE AN ELECTION. Just do it, bloodsucker.

sounds great how about
The Campaign For Legal Goverment
'Dame' Suzi Leather is part of this cabal of New Labour designed to perpetuate themselves and their social engineering agenda. I found this by Melanie Phillips, 2004, on her blog:
"So that's it then; fathers are redundant. According to Suzi Leather, chairman of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, women seeking to have an IVF baby shouldn't need to bother with finding a father. The requirement to provide a father for the child was 'anachronistic' and 'a bit of a nonsense' and was 'out of step with other changes in society and with government policy'. She says she doesn't think fathers are superfluous (which of course is exactly what she is saying) but just doesn't want to be unfair to single or lesbian women:
'There are certain circumstances in which children can grow up happy and well parented in the absence of a man. It is the quality of the relationship that matters not that a man or a woman are involved'.
A mere ten grand a pop? They aren't trying. Should have turned their hand to designing the London Olympic logo. They could have trousered a cool £400,000 for coming up with a jumble of pink angular excrement...
The Charity Commission are renowned for their all-round incompetence (heavy staff turnover as well because, I understand, it is a pretty miserable place to work). If they delay any further it might be worth getting a friendly MP to refer a complaint to the Parliamentary Ombudsman on the grounds that the delay is unreasonable and therefore maladministration. It will at least smoke them out.
I will kick it of with 10,000
Come on GF this is right up your street. Get a retired judge to front an organisation funded by the public (us lot can put up the initial costs)to tackle this blatant criminality in government.
I cannot think for one moment it wouldnt get massive support from across the political spectrum.
Everyone hates what has been done to our constitutional and democratic processes by these bastard lawyers who run politics.
If i am not mistaken you might find some sympathy and maybe a cheque forthcoming from Her Majesty who would no doubt lend her tacit support to such an organisation.
What groups of people would be squarely behind such an organisation?
Judges
Police
Armed Forces
Libertarians
All NHS staff
most civil servants
all every law abiding, honest, decent member of the public.
I could raise GBP100,000 in 30 minutes for anyone who was serious about it
Brilliant guys let's do it. We are pushing at an open door. We just need someone to front it and get the ball rolling. It has to be someone the McStalin media hound dogs cannot pull apart.
The other thing we need is a website where people can put up their own news with pictures and videos of what is happening in this country. There are so many people who don't have a voice who are being air brushed out of the national debate because they do not fit the NuLabour profile. There is seething anger out there and we need a website to channel it.
I can design/build it as I have built 100 websites including the front end of the Times site.
But anyway, lets get the charity going, I think the suggestion of The Campaign For Legal Goverment is a great one.
I am sure support would come from many established pressure groups and ordinary folk who actually care about the shameful state of politics in this country.
What sort of person is required to front it? retired judge, ex senior armed forces type, any other ideas?
Jilted John,
In case this thread doesn't get any more interest in The Campaign For Legal Goverment we shouldn't let it drop. I have tried to get people to pick up this idea for some time now by leaving messages on various websites including the Telegraph but nothing happens.
It is really the only way to tackle their criminality. They are destroying our constitution by stealth bit by bit. We can put a stop to it through the law.
I personally don't know any suitable people who could front this organisation or how to get them interested.
I personally would not want to front it as I am not media savvy and would get picked off/trashed quite quickly by the McStalin news media.
I do know though that it is quite easy to find out how the Government is breaking the law by checking everything they do against the Laws of England and Wales which are all in a 14 volume set of large books which can be bought from HM Government Stationery Office.
I would like to be a researcher on this project but I'm not bothered as long as it happens.
Can those interested in this idea email me (click on the email address on the right).
There is a something in the embryonic stages already.
Now lets think, who has been fucked over and set up by this rogue regime? Someone with integrity and honour obviously! May I suggest Norman Tebbit (chingford skinhead)? or Frank field?
more names please!
