Gordon Says "You Decide", He'll Ignore
Gordon Brown launched his website with a promise of a new kind of politics, humble and listening. All of this was a mere three weeks ago."You Decide" what his website will discuss. New politics! Open! Listening! Interactivity! Digital not Analogue! Yeah Groovy! This week thousands voted to discuss "The NHS". Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and finally today Friday - Guido checked for the discussion.
Nothing but tumbleweed blew across the site.
Even checked out Oona's blog on the site "following Gordon around the country listening to the people". Nothing there either, she last mentioned the NHS on May 12.
Guido called up the campaign press office:
Guido Fawkes "Where is the discussion this week about the NHS?"If they start a "You Decide" discussion this weekend it would still be this week, technically...
Press Officer "Errr, errm, I only deal with the website"
GF "Yes, this is a question about the website"
PO "Can I get Tony McElroy to call you back"
GF "Thanks"

Politicians and direct questions from the unwashed masses - sort of a theme here with your Cameron wheres-the-money questionbrouhaha of a few months ago
i just think that the over 45s that are now in charge dont get the internet. they're trying but not getting it. nothing more sinister. dave being slightly younger is slightly better...but only slightly.
I don't believe that poll. How could 35% of people have voted for international development when I don't even know what that means? Is it giving money to imaginary African babies?
"We need to engage in a national debate." = Don't worry, it will all be forgotten about and swept under the carpet.
Dear Annon 5.56pm
International development aid is just about dishing billions out to evil 3rd world dictators and swindling crooks PLUS of course thousands of "nonjobs" to keep our crooks (NULAB) in posh houses and polish maids/aupairs! If you thought it was to help the real African poor then I am afraid you will be disappointed. Africans are sitting on a continent stuffed to bursting with riches beyond belief! And the african GDP is sinking faster than NUCONs polling figures! GO FIGURE !
Gordon listens to no-one. He has completely pissed off thousands of members who wanted a contest and used his Stasi in the PLP to ensure there wasn't a contest. No wonder no-one gives a tossabout his website
Who says the Labour lot will listen anyway ,Cameron has decided to do the same ,nearly 2million say no to road priceing, guess nobody listened to them ,2years or so before a ge ,we can wait.
PS
Africans have managed to steal and defraud $350 billion of charity and aid money so far! much of it going into Swiss bank accounts. The same swiss banks that held on to the money of holocaust victims for 50 odd years!

I'm half way to 78 and Dave's half way to 33.33 - maybe there's a turntable message here ... but likely no one else understands ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ wake me up when he's coronated.
(word verification FKVWIUP - close enough)
Poor old Levy: Tony "Two Brains" Blair ran rings around him, just as he ran rings around those lightweights Mandy and Campbell. Matthew Norman thinks so, anyway...
All in all, then, this is not a bad man, if an unusually vain one, and you can barely imagine the depth of his distress at being left marooned and isolated in Totteridge, pacing the thick white shagpile as he waits to learn whether he will be prosecuted for carrying out to the letter the fund-raising instructions of the man who appointed him.
Each man destroys the thing he loves, said Oscar Wilde, and so it has proved. Mr Mandelson, Alastair Campbell, now Lord Levy ... all those on whom Mr Blair lavished his deepest love have seen their reputations annihilated for doing his bidding - and having been left to swing in the wind, they now flit around the outskirts of public life like tragicomic spectres.
But the destruction of Lord Levy seems somehow the saddest because he had climbed the furthest, from the single room in Hackney where he spent his earliest years to the kingly and presidential palaces of the world, and has had the most precipitous fall.

Does Oona still have those large red spots all over her ample behind? Quite off-putting when one is trying to shag her from behind.
I know, let's decide he goes away
I thought they'd abandonned that site, probably when they realised 80% of the feedback was a bit critical of Gordon's meddling brain farts.
The Portugese police have this evening described a suspect. BBC News 24's correspondent in Portugal has, during a live broadcast this evening (around 7.00pm), named checked (at least 4 or 5 times) Robert Murat as the suspect. Oops.
Anybody who thinks people are really voting very marginally for the NHS discussion over IntDeveleopment, and IntDevelopmenr over education and the economy, really does need their fucking bumps feeling.
This is a headline grabber and fuckall else.
Tony McElroy?
Wasn't he one of Labour's press officers in their recent successful campaign in Scotland?
He's spent several weeks being photographed in schools when he should have been photographed in hospitals. Who could possibly have guessed what the country was already thinking?
Gordon: Selectable but unelectable.
Oh dear, Labour's Keith Vaz was even slimier and more arrogant than usual on tonight's Newsnight. Even the BNP's Nick Griffin was able to wipe the floor with the odious spiv.
It's fin de siecle time for New Labour I'm delighted to say though sadly we've still got another 2 or 3 years of their pillaging, incompetence, and piracy soon to become even worse under the vile Brown.
I'm glad Vaz was able to re-assure me that there is no immigration problem in the UK. Which Utopian paradise is he living in? Try taking a bus down the Coventry Road in Small Heath, Birmingham and you would realise that we have got it all wrong and need re-educating.
Probably a utopian paradise where there are no white people if the truth be told
Vaz doesn't experience multi-cultural problems in Leicester. The centre is now mono-cultural and more akin to Bombay than an English town.
As one of the tribal elders he must feel very comfortable and very much at home there which is why he spends so much of his taxpayer funded time facilitating the arrival of more and more arrivals from India.
I posted earlier about the oleaginous Vaz on Iane Dale's Diary. I felt like the guy in Ghotbusters who cried: "Arrrrgh, I've been slimed!"
I saw Vaz on BBC2. Jesus what a smug arrogant creep. Hes a New Labour politician I take it?
Yuk!
How did you guess, appointed to chair the Black Socialist Society's Ethnic Minority Taskforce by Blair. Not impressed by his misrepresentation of what Hodge said, classic NuLab bully and suppress tactic.
"It now appears that the tycoons' applications were assisted by two Labour ministers, Peter Mandelson, then the secretary of state for trade and industry, and Keith Vaz, then a junior, unpaid, parliamentary private secretary, but now minister for Europe."
Guardian Friday January 26, 2001
Gordon's site should give the choice to vote on house prices, should they continue to rise? fall? should government intervine to bring down house prices. It,s not in the national interest to let prices rise.
Last night's 'NHS news' was all about pregnant women not drinking.
So here we go with more of the usual mind-boggling and confusing ‘guidance’. I think any news about the NHS actually doing something ‘positive’, by being mentioned on the news, several times a week, doing ‘research’, or ‘learning lessons’, is a huge astroturfing exercise. The constant drip-drip of ‘news’ items deflects criticism of the current disregard for sick patients who actually hope a doctor will see them, and they can get better. We have to visit a District Nurse with Mrs S’s Mum on Bank holiday Monday, because the local surgery is closed for three days!
Guido Fawkes "Where is the discussion this week about the NHS?"
Should have asked which schools Gordon would be stalking this week. His comments about the NHS were filmed at what looked to be a primary school with young children in the background.
Where vaz lead, the bulk of the nulab movement was happy to follow:
nulab = serially incompetent, criminally corrupt !

c v, don't worry about house prices rising further. The house price bubble, created by the easy availability of cheap credit is now fully inflated with millions of fools destined to spend the rest of their lives paying a significant proportion of their wages to the bank.
Like all bubbles this one is going to burst and, as so much of the UK's Enron-style economy is dependant on MEW fuelled consumer spending, our economy is heading for recession.
Government tried to interfere by keeping interest rates accomodative (too low) through Brown's stooges on the MPC but, unless they want to destroy sterling, this option is now denied them.
There is no easy way out now. Britain is saddled with phenomenal amounts of debt and the market will decide where we go from here.
Stagflation, recession, depression? All are very much on the table and much of the blame should be laid at Brown's door.
The NHS is becoming Labour's "Achilles Heel" and no -Gordon definitely doesn't want to discuss it . "Nuthin to do with me, guv !"
Patsy is being lined up to be blamed for all its current woes and will be despatched to the back benches 28 June
I was told by a bank "personal account manager" a spotty faced little twit that if i wanted a new car I should have it on my mortgage.I asked are you seriouse,he was I laughed at him out loud and walked out. Many people have followed said advice and here we are on the edge of the abyss.I have now got rid of all credit cards and am trying like cr5azy to clear the mortgage before the shit storm gordo created hits.I suggest you all do likewise.
mitch, you are spot on. Even yesterdays Financial Times was warning about the coming economic crisis to come: record trade deficits, record debt, rapidly deteriorating public finances, growing repossessions etc
The coming economic storm will blow Brown and New Labour into deserved political oblivion for years to come. The trouble is we will all be paying for his profligacy for years to come also.
if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it's probably a duck
Dave uses the same system with party members.Fantastic style.
Like your little video "Taking Liberties" showing a poor fellow pensioner being manhandled.Reminds me of the miners strike when you and yours did that and more, happy days.
Id just like to add for purely selfish reasons that everyone should wait before clearing their credit and loans because you might precipitate the crisis a little earlier than i have planned.

Comparing an OAP of 80 odd to that bunch of self serving, work shy and greedy cunts the miners is very unfair.

that's absolutely right economic armagordon
unless, of course, it is a duck in disguise
Perhaps its Keith Vaz in disguise?
To all those who go about the police and the miners they seem to have it the wrong way round.
The striking miners who never took a ballot (because their leadership were stupid) tried to intimidate other miners and stop them from going to work
Mitch - 11.42am 26 May: Regrettably the sort of "guidance" you were given by the bank twit is because that's how they are trained. I had a similar experience when my "personal banking manager" tried to persuade me to buy unit trusts in one of their wonderful commercial offerings. He was quite shocked when I challenged him on all the various charges and deductions they would make - usually up-front - before my "investment" came anywhere near making a profit.
Unfortunately ignorant people do not, unlike you (and me!), ask themselves why they should spend the next 25 years paying for a car! Clearing debts in a hurry was exactly what I did 5 years ago when I saw the storm coming over the horizon. May I suggest you add one more item to your excellent course of action: emigrate. That's what I did and I have never looked back, but when I do I am saddened by what has become of my once great country.
The whole point as I see things is that the Labour party and its braindead mindcontrolled worshippers do not have a requirement for blogging.
They have the BBC and its £3.5 billion budget. State education the London mayors office and most if not all of the other public institutions to assist in getting their authoritarian statist propagander accross to this countrys increasingly ignorent population.
We have GF and the true protector of the individual human rights for Audi drivers, Iain Dale.
With the odd bit of input from some unknown Tory backbencher who might sometimes extricate his head from his favourite horses arse. Even that only if he can get himself on the media without spilling his wiskey or staying out of touch with his stockbrocker for more then 15 mins.
God help us.
NO REALLY GOD FUCKING HELP US PLEASE
John Cruddas has been exposed by the DAILY MAIL for cheating and lying! The two faced bastard! I now hate these scumbags like poison and I would dedicate the rest of my life to bring these evil shits down. May I suggest a protest group to follow these scumbags wherever they go with the aim of showing them up for the people they realy are! Now that would be direct action!
I have been looking at emigrating to australia or new zealand just gotta persuade the kids to come as well, Id be gone like a shot.
Mitch
So have I and I am also having the same problem.
I have so little confidence in this country that I only write at all just so I can say,
"I told you all so, and have been doing so all my adult life. You silly missguided anti-semitic socialist brainwashed fools still did not listen. So you can all now go to your gulags pulling your handcarts and then to the hell you so fully deserve"
Our only hope and it is a very small and getting smaller by the day one is an out of touch Tory toff with a dangerously stupid ecology fixation. who better proove himself to be a better lier then Tony Blair or its simply all over bar the cyanide and the self made oven.
All we the sane people of the UK have and have ever had is a small black pencil to save us from socialist dictatorship. A infinitely valuable unyet almost infinitely cheap item which we have misused and abused at least once to often, to expect salvation from anything but the divine.
Have a nice day.
Good article out today by one of the blog regulars, Bryan Appleyard. Worth reading in full:
The Sunday TimesMay 27, 2007
Because we're worth it
The baby-boomers’ culture of hedonistic consumerism has left their offspring with the crumbs from their table. And 65% of them say their children’s lives will be worse than their own. But are they bothered? Bryan Appleyard....

But the good news is that Eton Dave is going to save state schools.Education,Education,Education.There really is nothing new is there?
Off topic but the Mail is reporting links between Lord BrownE and Reinaldo (Peter Mandelson's gay lover).
Mandelson's partner linked with Lord Browne
Peter Hitchens in Mail on Sunday today mentions an interesting new book attacking Brown's record on the economy. Basically it's fucked and we're all going to hell in an over-mortgaged handcart.
Brown will be shitting himself if this goes mainstream. Come on Osborne/Cameron, plenty of ammunition here for you boys!! Get this book, digest it, and go for the scotch buggars throat!!
anyone read bliars verbal shit in the times god he realy does belive that bollox.wonder if any suicide bombers know his address when he leaves see how he likes being a target.

The sooner the pair of you emigrate the better.Your'e doin' me head in with your pathetic postings.
OT but regarding the Deputy Leadership circus, John Cruddas has been caught by the Mail indulging in the usual brand of left-wing hypocrisy regarding schools. The great thing about being on the Right is that you can do the best for your family without feeling guilty about it.
More hints in the papers today about the tangled relationship between Gordon Brown, rent-boy loving Lord Browne, and Peter Mandelson's Brazilian gay ex-lover Reinaldo.
There

Your pathetic postings are doing my head in.
You make so many postings on so many sights at the same time with such vastly different viewpoints, one might come to the conclusion that you are in fact a care in the community skits that spends over 200 hours a day on the internet.
As you clearly are someone that neither has a consistant opinion on any subject at all and no time whatsoever to have a real life on which to base them, your opinions are more then worthless to say the least.
I suspect that the truth is more likely that you are a coward and a fool that cant even spell your own name never mind own the balls to use it.
However if you really think that when people like me finally give up on this socialist nightmare of a country and retire to a warmer and more free enviroment you will some how be better off. Then think again.
Because I will be better off and you will have rampant inflation no diversity of supply and no one but the government or government controlled big business to work for.
GOOD LUCK I will not nead it, but you will lose far more then you could possibly have the free mind to imagine.
This country has as many people leaving it as it has coming into it. Even recent immigrants of which I know many, either wish they had not come at all or are already seeking a better place to work hard and make a life in.
Go to CUBA and see your future.
According to this calculation (from pommygranate.blogspot.com) 47% of the electorate are now dependent on the state.
I predict growth industries will be building spy drones for sink cities (not tractors as we have no manufacturing or other sensible industry), data theft both by the state and as a civil servant sideline and fining each other for not recycling.
Oh yes, and all of that while the screws go on from our debt mountain and recession.
Gordon Brown on courage? What next: Tony Blair on humility? David Cameron on "my struggle"? Genghis Khan on care in the community?
The book is clearly a copy of JFK's Profiles in Courage, and though Cathy Koester and Colin Currie allegedly wrote the pen portraits (95% of the book), Brown presumably selected the list and wrote the platitude-packed introduction and conclusion.
This book might sit oddly on the shelf (and in this review) alongside Michael Barber's Instruction to Deliver: Tony Blair, the Pubic Services and the Challenge of Delivery, except that the two works offer an intriguing yin and yang of Blair's inner circle by two of its chief controllers. In one, the captain on the bridge gazes at the stars, dreaming of immortality, while the wheel spins idly to and fro. In the other, a grease spattered engineer takes everything to bits in the boiler room with no clue how to reassemble it.
(excerpted from the Simon Jenkins' review of 'Courage: Eight Portraits' and 'Instruction to Deliver' in Sunday Times.)
Haven't all the poor anon's sussed it yet that 'garypowell' is a skit created by some left wing moron who want's to make all the folks out ther in web-land think that the Tory Party is dominated by semi-paranoid twats with OCD?
Anon 11.24.
Sorry to hear about your head, but if you had anything but squishy butter between your ears you would realise that the 2 posters you are urging to leave the country are in fact talking much sense. Just to give you a wee clue: If all the productive (educated?) people emigrate and take their cash and expertise with them, who do you think is going to finance your lifestyle? You really do need to do some serious reading about the extremely deep hole Comrade Brown has dug for the residents of the UK over the past 10 years and if you have any children or grandchildren, you had better warn them that they will be paying for his idiocies for the next 50 years.
Mitch: Take your kids on a month's holiday to the south seas; once they experience the great food, smell the fresh air and see the benefits and opportunities available, they will not want to stay in Britain.

I have'nt seen any comments on this story from the Indy. Could this be why Tone is trying to up the ante re anti terror laws?

" Mr Blair, who has spoken to the police already, may face a further interview with detectives, but this time under caution, when he leaves office next month. Lord Levy and Ruth Turner, a key Downing Street aide, are among those who may also be questioned again.
A spokeswoman for the CPS, which has received hundreds of pages of evidence, confirmed: "We have asked the police to conduct some further inquiries."
Angus MacNeil, the Scottish Nationalist MP whose complaint to the police led to the launch of the inquiry, said the news increased the prospect of another police interview for Tony Blair.
"This is clearly going to reverberate around the dying days of the Blair Government, and once Blair has retired it might be more interesting still," he said.
Several key lenders at the centre of the cash for honours affair have been asked by Labour to roll over their loans to save the party from being forced into receivership. Sir David Garrard, who was due to be repaid £2.3m last month, and Dr Chai Patel who was owed £1.5m in August, have decided not to call in the loans. Both men are understood to have given the party more time to repay. In 2008 the party will have to make millions of pounds more in loan repayments, including £1m to Barry Townsley, who was proposed for a peerage by Tony Blair.
Opposition politicians said the party would have been told to stop trading if it were a company. Lord Oakeshott of Seagrove Bay, a Liberal Democrat treasury spokesman, said: "If this was a commercial company the auditors would be warning the directors they should call in the receivers."
Senior Labour figures fear that the party's auditors, who are now examining the accounts, will not be able to sign the party off as a going concern because Labour does not have enough money to pay back its debts. The party was due to pay back almost £10m in loans this year.
Members of the party's governing body, the National Executive Committee, will become personally liable for the party's debt if the auditors refuse to say that the party is a going concern.
One member of the NEC said: "The only way our accounts will be signed off is if the lenders give us more time to pay or turn the loans into donations." "
10 things MP's are good at. (Sorry, I could only think of 4)
1) Learning lessons, drawing a line, and moving on.
2) Calling for, "national debates on complex issues", and then going for a beer.
3) Starting every concerned query about mass immigration with,"Of course we must never forget the contribution immigrants make to our economy.....
4) Shagging secretaries and rent boys.
I am sure there are loads more but I suffer from Aspergers syndrome and have to go and drool over my list collection.
Isn't it time No-Brains Willetts shut his mouth or else fucked off to NuLab or the LibDems?

" The government has secretly set up a VIP “stalker” squad to identify and detain terrorists and other individuals who pose a threat to prominent people.
The unit, staffed by police and psychiatrists, will have the power to detain suspects indefinitely using mental health laws.
The Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC) was quietly established last October and is set to reignite controversy over the detention of suspects without trial. "

Gary Powell was created by working class parents Gordon Powell and Rita Pye in April 1960. Just about barely educated at Charterhouse Secondery modern School Orpington Kent.
From the worst educational background it is possible to have in post war Britain (as anyone that went there will gladly testify.) I have single handedly created my own forever more succesfull British manufacturing company, and employed and trained over 100 people on the way. I see free market capitalism as the only way of liberating the working class from elitist intellectual fools and other useless socialist despots.
The most important thing to me is the maintenence of liberty for all as only by this do I have the slightest chance of maintaining liberty for myself and my family.
The Conservative party did not invent me it is people like me that invented and sponsor the modern day Conservative party.
Where as you are a fucking arsehole of first/upper class proportions.
BTW
To various anons. or should I say various cowardly prats.
Just because you may be paranoid or even semi-paranoid does not mean the bastards are not out to get you.
Where I come from and the people I spent my young life drinking with and being educated by, the elimination of the self employed and the mobile working classes was seen as essential to the progress of mankind.
The bile and quite often open hatred expresses to me by these people for daring to even try to step out of my class still rings in my mind. These people have not gone away they have simply changed their language slightly and are now in government.
This site is full of anons claiming to be ex Tories. Trolls that think that anyone is fooled by their blantent racism and working class hatred.
I have been a member of the Conservative party on and off for 28 years. If I thought the Conservative party was now or ever had been the party that some of you trolls keep claiming it was or sometimes still is, I would never have joined far less stayed or donated hard earned cash to it.
My opinions are not skits they are completly consistent in every single possible way.
It's interesting to see how a message can become corrupted as it passes down the line, as for example in "send reinforcements we're going to advance" , became "send two and sixpence, we're going to a dance."
It's happened again, due to the original speakers glottal glob of an accent.
There never was a rocking horse. What he really said was, "I was having a good time on a rocking arse!"
So millions are going to spend the rest of thier lives paying off mortgages that will far exceed the collapsed values of their properties.
And as they do so they should reflect upon the fact that they paid substantial extra taxes, VAT, Special car taxes, etc. etc. when they spent the money they had "raised" in borrowings against their inflated property "values".
So how is that for smart management of the economy, charge taxes, introduce extra "stealth" taxes, and then encourage people to borrow money so they can pay even more taxes.
I suppose if you treat people like idiots they will behave like idiots!
Is "Prudence" coded language for "got you, you suckers!"
I'd love to know more on the new kind of politics, humble and listening. That's interesting.
Very nice quote from Gordon.
Yeah, it's a new politic. Very fresh topic.
All those morons who were suckered into a lifetime of debt slavery to the banks by taking out a vast mortgage to buy some overpriced shithole can scan this site over the next few years to see how much their mindless and impulsive behaviour to get on the so-called property ladder has cost them, Negative equity is returning with a vengeance:

It may seem like a waste of time and energy telling people about the real world they do in fact still live in. Instead of the Gordon Brown and BBC completely unreal world that they have seemingly created for the prolls.
However dont give up at least we might have the satisfaction of saying we told you all so. And we will still have the spare cash to buy all those cheap properties up quite soon with a clear conscience.
I am already looking forward to having at least an option of buying a bigger home for my family. In Dulwich the cheapest cost of a house is over £120,000 per extra bedroom. Which is £30,000 more then the my current house cost me in 1986. I have several other properties that I dont live in but they would have to fall by over 70% before they became bad investments.
Its hard to understand why ordinary people still vote for these lunatics, because it really is the poor and hard working and not me they are screwing the most. But then you watch any ten mins of Browns Boadcasting C..Ts output and all becomes clear.
Couldn't agree more! 2 years ago I sold my flat to a friend for cash and became a council tenant. My rent is £260/month (inc. water rate)Let the housing market now find it's own level (up or down). I'm alright Gordon.
Just a quick look at the "strong economy"prudence claims credit for its a mess.Inflation 50% above target(even gordos fiddled target),interest rates
virtualy doubled, council tax soaring, tax generaly up and persoal debt ie credit cards and loans at well over a trillion quid.now im no economist but where will the money come from to buy food and clothes and
"real"goods? when all peoples income is paying for credit thats been spent.Even PFI is the same deal.WTF didnt anyone say to gordo these bills will have to be paid at some point or is he as stupid as he seems.

No chance of "The New Greatest Leader Of All Time" pausing to reflect upon the consequences of his activities. After all like his acolytes he has made sure he is fireproofed, large salary, larger pension, increasing expenses etc. etc.
And anyway he's having too much fun off riding his "Arse!"
Been a day or two since we saw new shots of the "Arserider" entertaining a selction of innocent kiddies! Why?
perhaps snotty is having a custom rocking horse made that breaks down into a red ministerial box.maybe his smile fell off and they are hiding him.He could be writing another book on qualitys he wishes he had.
He's at Hay-on-Wye looking for bookish boys, the kind he likes, book lover 7.06 didn't say what age they were, most popular pm ever coming up.

is a dog born in a stable a horse?
Thank you for mentioning race selection in schools,
because I heard a discussion about this issue on radio 4 news between a former bishop and a rabbi.
(sounds like a joke, doesn't it - which is probably why an imam didn't show up, since he knew he would be the 'but')
As is often the case in matters such as this, I disagreed with the person towards whom I felt the more sympathy and agreed more with the party whom I took a dislike.
You see, the rabbi had sent his children to a non-regious state school so that they would be able to become familiar with children from different backgrounds, cultures and religions, whilst the former bishop was keen to promote religious schools as the most effective option for achieving tolerance in the community.
The bishop pointed out that state schools bred a monoculture, whilst religious schools offered a choice - he also laid great store by the CofE schools ability to teach children from all backgrounds, although I felt that when he talked of this as an 'ideal option' he was not perhaps thinking of white christians being educated by muslims; being a racist, he stated that there were obvious concerns about muslim 'extremism' being fostered in society, but that schools were not the cause of this problem - although no good educational institution would, of course, encourage 'extremism' (by which I take it he meant evil), this seemed to be a deliberately naive argument which was aimed to pander to people of a BNP persuasion; after all, whilst a bad religious school could turn young people towards 'extremism', religious 'extremism' will not arise in non-religious schools, unless those schools actively repress religion...Notably, the bishop did not countenance that there is such a phenomena as christian 'extremism' or that that christian 'extremism' could be, or is, bred within bad christian schools. Nor did he recognise that in a polarized society, where schools are generally poor, a choice of religious schools would inevitably lead to one sort of religious extremism or another.
Sadly, the rabbi did not understand that his children were being taught state 'extremism', which, in this country, is definitely racist and also anti-muslim - and, although, he is clearly not concerned that a state education will affect his children's jewish upbringing (since the parental influence supercedes that of any school), he does not, meantime, realize that this over-riding (racist) parental influence is the very reason for schools' failure to combat racism in any meaningful way. Surely, it is better for people to choose to come together than for people to be forced into a state of tolerance - but then, if our government understood this, they would not be pouring fuel onto the fire of the civil war in Iraq, would they the cunts?
The main difficulty, is that there is currently no freedom for those of us who wish to educate our children out of the reach of state or religious doctrine - unless we fund this from our own already taxed, taxed, taxed pockets.
