Professional Standards Investigation
As if Gordon's Sith allies didn't have enough problems with the Charity Commission investigation, it appears that the Market Research Standards Board is to investigate Opinion Leader Research, Gordon Brown's pollster. Guido called the Standards Board to get confirmation, but they said they could not comment on individual cases. When Guido asked them to confirm they weren't investigating OLR, they declined.Guido has previously noted the cosy closeness of the relationship between OLR, HM Treasury, the Smith Institute, Deborah Mattinson and Gordon Brown. Whenever more objective polls are gloomy for Gordon, OLR can be relied on to produce "Gordon more popular than sliced bread" stories.
Other pollsters are very sniffy about OLR's methodology and the fact that despite not even having a field team they still manage to win juicy government contracts, most recently for the polling for the London Olympics. It obviously helps to have contacts at the highest levels of government when bidding for those contracts...

Don't let them off the hook Guido. The MRS will be nervous about disciplining OLR, but it reflects very badly on the profession if they don't. OLR should retract their faux poll. Interesting, isn't it, that Gordo was getting front page propaganda from this 'poll' in The Sun just a few weeks ago and what is he getting now?
Why not just commission an opinion poll from a mainstream organisation and bias the question - thats what everyone else does.
mutley, that would be expensive. Coughing up as much at 10-20K for such a poll would be hard to do without declaring who is paying for it...
Equally, they may already have done that too often to believe that even biased questions can produce a favourable answer for everyone's favourite one-eyed Uncle Joe.
I don't think any poll even with biased questions would be favourable to Broon. Not possible IMHO
See that the owner of OLR (Chime)has, in Feb this year acquired majority holding in Facts International, another Market Research company.
Wonder if any further Research division reorganisations are envisaged by the group?
Sometimes people need to be told what to think. The O.L.R. is a useful means on the road the British Socialist State.
The wheels are coming off Gordo's (amateurish) political machine. He's not getting good vibes from Murdoch/Stelzer over at Neocon Inc and he'd rather not see that megaforce behind the Milithingy. He can win their support again, but he'll have to pledge himself 100% to the neocon cause. And we know what that is. The Labour party needs to think very carefully about what is going on here.

btw...What's happened to the cash for honours investigation? haven't heard anything for a while. suppose that's because nothing would come out until there's a new prime minister so as to protect the guilty from ever having to resign.
