Sith Come to Gordon's Aid in Scotland

The SNP's fight for freedom and self determination for Scotland is hitting Gordon hard on his home turf. Gordon has been arguing that the SNP would damage the economy and the party has no support from the business community.

So when the SNP listed 100 leading businessmen who were supporting them, Gordon was not amused. A counter list of 100 businessman opposed to Scottish independence was hastily assembled. An advert was placed in The Scotsman by these "non-partisan" business leaders. Guido understands that it was financed by John Milligan, who is also a trustee of the Smith Institute...

Would those 100 be the same group of people Opinion Leader Research quizzed who thought Brown was wonderful? :oP

Shameless. Wonder if Gordon has any idea how detested he is by everyone?

An SNP victory would destroy Labour for ever.

Away hame ye nappy wearing pisher

You would think that the skirt wearing pillocks would look across the Irish sea and note how good things could be for them if they had the balls to stop sucking upon the English teat.

Interesting to see how the SNP and Gordon are going to divide the lucrative Government Contracts between the business leaders in Scotland when the SNP run the show.

It certainly looks as if the list was cobbled together.

(1)" Mr Reid, head of the Tesco supermarket empire. A Scot, he was educated in Edinburgh at the Prime Minister's old school, Fettes College".

Down here we reckon Terry Leahy is the Chief Exec & runs it - wonder if Leahy supports it as an SNP move to boycott Tesco is now underway!

Going to school with cash for honours Tone should be a BIG vote winner.

(2)"Sir David Murray, chairman of Rangers, George Mitchell, the former governor of HBOS, Sir William Purvis, the former chairman of HSBC, Peter Balfour, the former chief executive of Scottish and Newcastle, Billy Keane and Sir Peter Burt, the former chairman of ITV former politicians and senior Scottish sporting stars, such as Finlay Calder, the former British Lions captain, and David Sole, the former Scotland rugby captain Mike Ross, the former chief executive of Scottish Widows, Jim Spowart, founder of Direct Line, Duncan Bannatyne, an entrepreneur on BBC's The Dragon's Den".

So most of them have moved on or out apart from a football chairman and a quiz show contestant.

Hope Mr Milligan has done all the right things with the Electoral Commission as the last pro Union advert that was done was unlawful!!!

"Lynett Leisure was permitted to apply retrospectively for registration as a third party operating under electoral law."

Same corrupt lot up here

The only thing of interest concerning the inevitable Brown reign is what he intends to bribe us with over the next 2 years.

I am getting really concerned for Mike's sanity once it begins to dawn on him that he will have to live for another 18 years under Tory reign.

Thank fuck somebody's got some news today - Iain Dale has got his knickers in a right twist just because somebody has moved to have fortnightly bin collections.

I can see how having our old people go blind, Patsy Hewitt screwing up the Health Service, and throwing yet more lives into the pit which is Iraq pales into insignificance up against the Great Wheelie Bin Disaster...

Get a life, Daley..

Was watching something on Brown campaigning in Scotland a couple of weeks ago, the journalist mentioned that a lot of extra investment had gone into his constituency.
It reminded me of a story about defence cuts during Brown's first years as chancellor where it appeared a particular spending commitment was to be axed until someone pointed out to Brown that it was in his own constituency!

You are not Iain Dale... so maybe the message space vid ad should change... hm!

Not forgetting that once Scotland breaks away from the Union, then Gordo will no longer have a seat in Westminster, or a key to Number 10.

Brown,Cameron,Campbell? Not much of a choice for us English then.

So true, makes you wonder why the Scots want Indepedence when they are clearly running the Union anyway.

Isn't Blair a Jock as well? His cabinet is certainly a Jock closed shop.

For a lot of us that's a relatively major problem! Fortunately there are those of us who, by sheer chance of postcode, have been saved from the ravages of the current shower. Doesn't change the fact that we're annoyed by the damage they're causing, just that the bin fiasco effects us more directly. Have no fear though, we won't be voting Labour even if we have been relatively lucky.

Anymouse 6:58, I think you'll find Rosyth Royal dockyard (for I presume that is to what you refer) is not in his constituency per se but in the next door constituency in which he lives. It is infinitely safer from sell off than the Bank of England's gold that's for sure!!!

Tessa Jowell grew up, went to school and university in Scotland and, as far as I know, has a house there (although perhaps it is mortgaged to the hilt).

Time to privatise the BBC. It costs £3.3billion pa; it is a vehicle for Government propoganda; are Neighbours and Jonathan Ross (the latter costing you £7million pa) really 'public service broadcasting?

How about tax cuts instead?

"A counter list of 100 businessman opposed to Scottish independence was hastily assembled."

Very true, (it was actually 150), but none of them endorsed the Labour party, just the Union.

In an earlier advert they got 15 football players and managers to endorse the Union, again not quite Labour.

What is very, very funny to us in Scotland is how Rangers FC businessmen and players, (Ulster Loyalists, and Celtic FC businessmen and players, (Irish nationalists) are coming together to endorse the Union of Scotland and England.

Those of us outside Glasgow always knew that blue or green they were all c*nts anyway.

What would be more interesting was how many of those 'non-partisian' businessmen are in receipt of government contracts. It being Scotland, I'd guess quite a few.
