Hilary Benn's Arms Length Viral
Just as the anti-Hilary attack ad made by an "independent" supporter of Obama turned out to not be so independently made after all, this independently made ad will, Guido has no doubt, have the blessing of Hilary Benn's team.
Why not run the ad officially? Because firstly it breaches Zephyr Film's copyright, it is also a little bit risky in that humour can often have disastrous and unexpected consequences. Gweirdo (James Mason) carefully takes responsibility for it in case Benn's team need to avoid getting any backwash. Humour has hitherto been sadly lacking in political videos, now that anyone with a laptop and a digital camera can make one, that is going to change. This one works and won't harm Hilary Benn at all, but as Sion Simon's anti-WebCameron debacle proves, it can backfire badly.

"Gweirdo"? Who can he be having a dig at...?
Actually very amusing indeed :¬)
When is Tom Watson going to admit he is Hamer Shawcross?
I'm ALL Hamer, baby!
Right, off for a hot shower. Feeling DIRTY now.
"Don't misunderstand, I'm not saying that the Obama campaign had anything to do with it."
So are you saying or implying that this ad was APPROVED personally by Barack Obama ? If not, bloody well say so !
I found that cartoon as indescribably dull as I used to find the real Mr Benn when I was a (younger) child.
Maybe I'm just not good at subtle messages...
In my opinion the NuLab cabinet would be much more accurately portrayed as The Clangers.
I liked Mr Benn (the programmes, not the Labour politicians), but I think I missed the point of that ad. Vote Benn because he appeals to children?
Thought process in Hilary Benn campaign HQ: "Hey, Hilary's got the same name as Mr Benn!" "Great! What can we do with that?" "Uh..."
And so we got this. Hm.
Why not run the ad officially? Well, why when you can get someone who used to share an office with Hilary Benn's online campaign manager to give it the necessary publicity. Keep up your independence Paul.
thanks for the hat tip, as ever.

A minister who likes going round in disguise?
Whatever next?
Hardly the way to build good trusting relationships with others!
Certainly not behaviour befitting of a man in public office.
What would happen if the common man were to dress up as a Cabinet member...Guiso might fancy Minister of Defence...
Bet Brown would like to go into that cubicle and "as if by magic" find himself dressed in Blair's clothes...
he'd probably want his smeggy briefs too...
or does Toni wear a G-string?
but Cherie's already got that act sewn up...
daresay Miliband wants to do Beckett.
