Facebook F***-Up - Blear's SpAd Admits Misconduct

The whole Facebook fad has passed Guido by, the many invitations go unanswered.

Paul Richards should have done the same, or at least have been more careful before he advertised online his breaches of the Code of Conduct for Special Advisers. Unless he is currently on leave, the above is a prima facie admission of misconduct. My thanks to a supporter of a rival candidate for the above. No doubt someone more public spirited will make the appropriate complaint.

UPDATE :
He has hurriedly changed his entry this morning. You know Guido might just be motivated enough to make a formal complaint. He is after all wasting taxpayers money on Blears' private interests.

Dealing with pledges of support - yes, people who know him may have emailed him saying "Nice launch by Hazel, give her a high-five from me!"

Media bids - she's party chairman. People bid for her to appear on tv and radio shows.

Especially in her case, it's hard to see where the "party chair" role ends and her candidacy begins. So, I don't think there's necessarily a prima facie case for a referral.

I just sooooooooo want to point out what special interest group he comes from.
And Blears.

Does Mr Fawkes know that there is a group on Facebook dedicated to himself?

The London Prodigal said...

Yes, but some idiot managed to spell 'appreciation' - in the group's title - incorrectly.

I'm guessing that Recess Monkey was your source for this one. Just delete this comment if I'm right.

Anony-turfer @12:34 - in with both feet in mouth. Quite obviously you didn't bother to follow the link to read the Code of Conduct.

Must have been a freelancer - as out of office hours.

12:34 astroturf comment seems quite pacy in tone - probably Hazel herself!

I thought SpAds were supposed to look intelligent.

Naughty.

No, David Cameron was one.

I am a stranger to Facebook but I notice that it provides the humble reader with a facility to 'Poke Paul!'. I think we can safely assume that he is now well and truly poked.

Praguetory said...

The excitement is over. Paul's status is back to doing nothing. Has Paul a) managed to deal with the hundreds of pledges and dozens of media bids? or b) gone for a change of underwear.

In other news, Hazel is featuring in a short film showing this weekend titled Slave Labour. More here.

Was Dave a SpAd or a SpAz?

Completely off-topic, Guido, but I see that Lady Slotgob has been appointed celebrity ambassador to a charidee that has been going downhill since 1866 and has finally hit rock bottom.

Bear in mind anon that Frances Crook (the Head of the Howard League) advocating closing female prisons. Maybe, Cherie is doing some arse-covering?

re 10:27

Does this mean that she will get special visitor's rights?

Expecting to visit prison very often Ms Blair?

Paul Richards, clear evidence that GM experimentation with potatoes has had horrific consequences.

(Sorry, nothing useful to say, so I thought I'd just go for the gratuitous insult of somebody who has never appeared on my radar screen before today...)

Can't see what the problem with this is, Guido

It is normal

Surely the rules and laws only apply to every one else, not the ruling elite of NuLab

I'm afraid Nick Borinson seems to have been Sith'd, or got a dose of CJD-NuLabor.
The intellectual simulation of his blog is now on a par with watching paint dry.
Sorry to insult any astro-turfing paint watchers!

Robinson was spouting the usual ineffectual nonsense on Today this morning - brown nosing Bruun with regard to his useless thoughts on migrant citizenship. This seems to be at odds with his comments on the Milburn/Clarke urge for debate - he seems to having trouble working out which side he supports.

The behaviour of the Cyclops is very odd as well - trying on the one hand to be PM in waiting, yet continually hesitating to make a bid for power. A lack of confidence / insecurity or worse? Not really the qualities one expects of a Prime Minister - I don't think he has the bottle!

hi, astroturfer from 1234 here, just woken up.

i'm not an astroturfer. honestly, chaps, not everyone who disagrees with the guido line is an astroturfer!

for the record, i'm a journalist, who loves seeing nulab (and cameron's piss weak imitation) getting a kicking. and i'm not necessarily saying that paul is doing nothing wrong, just saying that his facepad entry (?) doesn't admit to anything which proves a breach. for instance, it doesn't say "during work hours i am..."

I'd mnuch rather read about the Yates inquiry, but morsels from that table are to be savoured, i understand.

He has to be on leave to do campaigning - check the rules - "I did it on the weekend / after work" doesn't fly.

Only 2 comments on the Robinson blog - Beeb are probably running the pending e-mail details through GCHQ so that he whose name must not be mentioned can identify traitors in the PLP. Cunning ploy methinks.

Pointing @12:34 to the Code of Conduct is no good if he is so dim or totalitarian or both as to believe party chairman is a public office. We're not quite living in a one-party state yet, much as the Blur-ites and other bleugh beginning with BL behave as if we are - petitions to the Dear Leader and all.

Londontory said...

I thought SpAds were supposed to look intelligent.

I thought they just had to be "special" - Ruth Kelly's child will be a shoo-in.

Anonymous said...

Radio 5 has been running a feed from a slide show that our Dear Leader is currently bodging on the subject of poverty - complete and utter gobbledeegook. He's either making it up as he goes along, or he hasn't bothered reading his script beforehand - priceless!

Londontory said...

Paul is currently on leave, at the Blears for Deputy campaign HQ in Westminster...

Notanastroturfer 1234: is there any difference between an astroturfer and a MSM journalist?

You all take gifts from NuLabour (usually in the form of stories or info) and in return you print more or less what they want you to. Also, it seems to be increasingly difficult for anybody at the BBC or one of the major papers to get a job there unless you hold a (Labour) party card. It's the same in the NHS or in local government. The fact that these people internalise and perceive as their own the opinions they need to get on in their careers makes it worse not better.

It's all getting a bit like the old Soviet Union.

allan said...

No, you're worse than Hitler!

BBC Robinson Blog - 'Well done Nick - you've beaten Guido Fawkes on this story.'

Is something kicking off here?

The Hitch said...

Why the fuck is Bob Hoskins working for Blears?

Anonymous said...

To Anonymous at 12.22 - Maybe Nick Blobinson wrote that entry himself?

He's been a busy boy today - the Toady programme first thing, and then a news conference with the Dear Leader where he even asked a question! Not a very good one though - it just displayed his fawning abilities, and was bettered by the questioner following him who put Bliar on the spot over Iraq.

Guido, if you are even remotely interested, I think it was comment no 19 - most peculiar, for quite a while there were just 2/3 comments including what became no.19, then whooosh there was a minor flood of them.

Praguetory said...

Astroturf tactic 43587 - Appear anti-Blair/govt and then sound off on some irrelevant issue for a few lines.

"Maybe, Cherie is doing some arse-covering? "

PragueTory perhaps that's why the curtains have been pulled down at number 10?

It would need a lot more material than Number 10's curtains to cover that arse.
